I was surprised. I just hope it's a good story.

I was surprised. I just hope it's a good story. I've actually known about it for a while, and I highly doubt it'll totally match the first 2, but at the same time, agreed.

Pixar are movie-making gods. I wouldn't have expected them to start milking franchises, but you just never know what they'll pull up.
I mean, they made a movie like Cars... I never expected something like Cars, to be honest. Only time will tell in seeing how this'll turn out.

Cars 2 is unfortunately coming out. And, a sequel's been in development hell for the past few years, so it isn't a sudden "Were going to make one for the benjamins" thing. And, Cars did blow.

It's probably going to suck.. Movie makers need to know when to stop.

Normally I'd agree, but it's different with Pixar. They honestly DON'T make movies just for the hell of it. There's a reason that they don't usually do sequels, and there's a reason that the name "Pixar" means something. After Wall-E and Up, I can easily say I have confidence that they'll make Toy Story 3 great.

I would never watch Wall-E, even if someone tried to force me to watch it. It holds no appeal whatsoever for me. Up, at its best, was slightly above mediocre.
Honestly, the animated movies I'm excited for right now are Ponyo, 9, and The Princess and the Frog. From what I've seen, the first two Toy Story movies will be shown in 3D sometime in the near future.

I agree, Cars was one of the less-awesome movies, but I can tell that in all of their movies that they try to do something new with their animation.
Not to mention the fact that I've never thought about anthropomorphic cars since that first Inspector Gadget movie. The story itself was original.
All of the stories Pixar has made so far, have been original. They were pushing it a bit with Toy Story 2, but they did an awesome job with that anyway.
Not sure about Toy Story 3, and this Cars 2- if what you're saying is correct. I personally don't see how there can be a Cars 2.
All of the stories Pixar made, with the exception of Toy Story, have left no room for any sequels, lest they suck tremendously.
I don't see Pixar doing that. I can see Disney doing that, but I don't see Pixar as corrupted franchise-milkers like Disney is.
There cannot be a Wall-E 2. I'm glad of that. I named Wall-E the best movie of all time, and that's just me. Nothing anyone says can change that.
The only way that can change is if someone somehow creates something even greater than Wall-E.

Eh, I preferred Up (Possible flames galore especially due to this being a forum around a robot anyways), but Wall-E was excellent too. Wall-E was by far more impressive, but on a rewatch it didn't have the same effect. And it is highly visuals driven. Up was better developed and also didn't need the eye-popping visuals (impressive, but the space scenes in Wall-E were breath-taking) to tell it's story and make just as large of an effect. Not to knock off Wall-E, it's kinda Pixar's epic. But, Up's still my 2nd fave (TS is numero uno for the sheer amazing Tomatometer rating of 100%, and because it has massive nostalgia as the first flick I ever saw as a kid) And, read it and weep: www.imdb.com/title/tt1216475/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cars_2movies.ign.com/objects/142/14245942.html

Hmmm, I heard talk of it - I guess Im not too excited for it, But I'll probably go see it. I sat and saw the first one When I was a tot (Im talking about toy story) so...... It's gotten a bit old for me, but I did use to have odd nightmares with Buzz Lightyear in them .... lol. And cars 2 - Blah, Cars wasn't all that popular - Now what Pixar needs to do is sign MLAATR from nick over to Disney and make a movie about THAT. That would be freakin' Awesome!!!!! Or, you know....... PowerPuff girls! Lol.

This movie was SO good. Almost made me cry, which is quite a feat for an animated film. Hoping to get the bluray/dvd combo pack ^^

I did cry watching Toy Story 3. In fact, it's the only movie that will make me cry when I watch it.

A generic, bourgeois kid's flick. What's the big deal?
