"Preggers"? Which is the best episode yet, IMO. Oooh, you guys gotta listen to this! www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zZQrJvtwV8Scroll down to "Defying Gravity." First time Kurt sings a solo! Well, duet anyway. He and Rachel are competing for the solo. (and no, Mr. Cellophane doesn't count.)

Aw crap, he has the most adorable voice. I think I'm obsessed with him, LOL. (And as of a few wonderful hours ago, Chris Colfer is MY friend on Facebook too. )

So Blaine said this to Kurt in the last episode: "Kurt, there is a moment... when you say to yourself, 'Oh, there you are! I've been looking for you forever.' Watching you do 'Blackbird' this week... that was a moment for me... about you. You move me, Kurt. And this duet would just be an excuse to spend more time with you." Oh, and then THIS happened. LOOK AT IT. KLAINE IN ALL ITS GLORY. So yeah. These two are together now, and I'm sooper excited for what's to come. Seriously, these two are now my OTP (well, it's tied with Kataang). Unlike Kataang though, I actually get to see this relationship play out for once. I get to see them be boyfriends! YAY! ;D

So, I found out on Jeopardy! that in 2010 the cast of Glee beat the record set by the Beatles for the most songs by a non-solo act to chart on Billboard's Hot 100. And earlier this year, they beat Elvis' record to become the undisputed champion of the Hot 100.
In other words... Elvis Presley... and the goddamn Beatles... have been beaten by an Auto-Tuned cover band whose members were chosen for their facial features rather than any approximation of musical talent, a group of singers who couldn't carry a tune in a shopping cart, the stars of a musical without any original music! I have never wanted to hurt anybody as much as I want to hurt somebody today. If I woke up tomorrow morning to discover that an Al Qaeda sleeper cell had systematically murdered the entire cast and crew of the show, burned all its sets and props to the ground, and detonated a nuclear device in the offices of 20th Century Fox Television to prevent such a thing from being greenlighted again*, I would die happy.
* It's the only way to be sure.

Just wanted to correct you on a couple things. First of all, these kids can actually sing. Most of the leads were on Broadway. Plus I've heard some of them sing live. Darren and Chris (the two boys) are actually really good singers. Sometimes in the show they use vocal effects for the songs (such as when they added reverb in "Animal"), though when they do it irritates me quite a bit, because the cast doesn't need it. But they've never used autotune. Also, I think the only reason they beat the Beatles in sales is because they've made so many songs. An average of 5 songs are put in an episode, and given that they've done almost 50 episodes so far, that's almost 250 songs! The reason they're covering songs instead of making their own is to reach to a wider audience. They want to sing stuff that people already know. The Beatles, Journey, and Queen were covered because they're such a bit hit, and they want to spread their music to a younger generation. I've actually looked up the originals of quite a few songs they've done on the show, though most of them I already knew. Finally, they did two original songs in the last episode. "Get it Right" and "Loser Like Me" were written for the show. And they're planning on doing more original songs in the future. Hope this clears up some things. It really is a great show. EDIT: Here's a video of some of the cast (Amber, Chris, Dianna, and Kevin) singing at a bar. You can hear Chris about 4 minutes in; the highest he sings is a Bb5, which is really close to a high C.

Oh sure. Obviously my post is hyperbole -- except maybe the part about the Fox TV execs. Their sins are many and must be punished. I guess it's just a bit annoying that the most prolific songwriter of our time is barely a songwriter at all. Sure, Billboard has to track the Glee versions of songs separately from the originals; the show does provide its own arrangements and performances. But it seems like they shouldn't be lumping together all the Glee songs under one banner. From a creative standpoint, the performer of a piece means absolute jack -- just ask the fourth seat clarinet from the London Symphony Orchestra how much John Williams really cares about him or her. What matters is the team of composers and arrangers who wrote the score, and while every episode may have the same arrangers, each one necessarily has different composers. So instead of just filing everything under "by the cast of Glee," they should be filed under, say, "Coldplay/Anders & Davis" or "Whoever Did Rocky Horror/Anders & Davis." This would have the added bonus of giving credit where credit is due for whatever truly original songs the show produces.
Really, I guess it's more the Billboard people who deserve my all-consuming wrath. The people of Glee may live. For now.
(P.S. I find it hard to believe that the show has never used Auto-Tune. Talented or not, the actors are being asked to learn an entirely new repertoire for each episode. Even at the professional level, that's not something normal musicians do. And between budgets and deadlines, you only get so many rehearsals and takes before you have to throw up your hands and say "Screw it, we'll fix it in post." Besides, with all the goofy voice-changing effects they have to use anyway to make the songs sound more like the originals, it'd be easy to slip in some pitch correction without being noticed.)

OT: from all the episodes I have seen, the only character I remotely relate to is Sue.
I dunno, I just have never seen musicals get any better than Singing in the Rain, Hello Dolly, and all of those old classics. It's especially made worse when the big genre these days is... Ugh... Pop.
Also doesn't help when from all the advertisements for the show I do see, every single other character is bland and uninteresting. Then Sue comes in, verbally tears them a new one by pointing out how awesome she is, and I'm sitting in my plastic bin thinking "Heck yeah."
Another edit: Is it sad when the vocals in old Dark Side of the Moon and Meddle sound far more interesting and real than every single pop song ever made this past decade?

Pop. I think you'd actually like Rock of Ages. It's a newer musical, but all the songs in it are classic rock. You'd probably enjoy it. Another edit: Is it sad when the vocals in old Dark Side of the Moon and Meddle sound far more interesting and real than every single pop song ever made this past decade? There's some good ones out there; it just takes some searching. Florence + The Machine and Adele are both pretty awesome.

I love Glee! One of my favorite shows! But how dare FOX move it to Thursdays at the same time as Big Bang Theory and Community!
On another forum, we were discussing the probability that this is the last season. Apparently, Lea Michele, Corey Monteith and Chris Colfer could be/ are leaving the show "For Good". I was hoping they'd show Rachel's career but now...I don't know. Thoughts?

I figured out why they ended the season so happily with a lot of loose ends tied. Kurt and Blaine.... Rachel and Finn.... TTATT I'll still watch the series because I absolutely love the show and I still want to see Will and the ocd Chick get together, no, I don't remember her name X3

Emma? Yeah, me too. I want to finish the series. I liked it way before it was cool. It's annoying that people who were like "What's Glee?" when I used to talk about it now act like they know more about the show than I do or whatever. Sorry, digressing...
I want to see Ms. Corcoran again and see how she's doing with Quinn's baby. However, I have no idea how they'd incorporate that now or why it'd be important. Just wondering I guess. I also want to see Rachel's dads.
I think everyone relates to Sue in some way. She says the things we're too afraid or polite to say.
