There is an island made entirely of rubbish twice the size of Texas floating in the Pacific Ocean. Similar trash islands exist in every ocean. What the... So people are starting to use the ocean now? Where are we going to with that?

Nobody made the islands, not on purpose. It's just that every time you see a plastic bottle in a gutter, chances are it'll get washed into the sewer and then out to sea, and once it's there it might catch a current and end up in the middle of the ocean with every other peice of rubbish that was in every gutter of every city in every country on every continent that surrounds the ocean, and also what gets dumped off ships on purpose. The currents surround areas of ocean called gyres, and in them there is not predominant current, so anything that difts into a gyre is likely to remain there for decades, even centuries, unless a storm washes them back into the currents.
So thats how you end up with a 70,000km2 floating mass of rubbish in the middle of the Pacific.

I learned I have a broken toe, and that if the break was another 5mm up or down the toe I would've needed surgery to put pins in it.
Funny thing is that it doesn't hurt.

Wow. My dad had to have pins in his hand after a car accident when I was small.
I learned that a devoice can sometimes be a good thing.

I learned that my mother threw out my 1950s vintage 100% real leather jacket my dad gave to me (and it was given to him by an old German man who worked in the same factory as dad) without telling me. Her reason? It was old.
...
Both me and my dad were understandably more than a little upset.

If all the Lego bricks ever produced were to be divided equally among the worlds population of six billion, each person would get 62 bricks.

From what we're to understand as non-Americans watching the goings on of your government, Liberals want to turn everyone into pot-smoking commies and Conservatives want an Orwellian overwatch of the far Christian right. And both sides spend so much time arguing over these points that nothing ever gets done.

The reason why Clint Eastwood is always sneering and squinting in his cowboy films? He's alergic to horses and was trying not to sneeze.

I learned how much I can't stand people who hold up the line in the convenience store so they can buy freak'in lottery tickets!

A guy named Smith, who worked for Nickelodeon, was caught on To Catch a Predator. He was fired shortly afterwards. He had no contact with kids while he had worked for Nick.
