What in God's name is wrong with you people? Dozens of you are leaving the fandom. ROB IS WORKING ON A MOVIE!!! We're working on an Animated series. How DARE you once call yourselves fans? This may not apply to all of you but certainly to the masses
Zero, is the top one... he was the creator of this site. The creator of this safe haven of fandom. And even HE lost faith... in less then a bloody year... You know why shows die? Because they're fans BETRAY them. Don't you remember that feeling that MLaaTR gave you when you first saw your first episode? Why do you want to deny that? Dont your remember all the good times people have on this forum? Don't you want that BACK? Don't you want to stay friends with these people? Why cant we stay united at least in remembrance... its time to stop mourning and its time to start being productive.
Zoomer, Zander, Champ, Jessie, Hunter, Omnios, KaseyKockroach, sk200, Armystuntman, Jakob, Power9x hell even 14-bis and a few others unmentioned... THESE are fans. THESE are the inspiration we need. If you people stick around for one GOD DAMN second and give the animation team composed of now only Zander and I a CHANCE then MAYBE, MAYBE a spark of hope will be instilled in your hopless black hearts. You know why people lefy\t the fandom? Because of PEER PREASURE. They saw some leaving and said "Oh this show is over its a waste of time" Thats right, I called you all CHILDREN. Trend following CHILDREN. If Rob knew that his fans were leaving him... that only a few dozen would be left to support his DREAM... he'd be crushed.... I know I would be.
You make me sick..... and you KNOW who you are....

I haven't "left the fandom", I just don't care whether or not Mlaatr comes back. I just don't think it's the type of thing Rob should do, and now I see why Mina was apparently his favorite character, since those shorts are the type of shorts he probably wanted to do. Nothing against him, but Mlaatr should've been done by someone who is consistently able to balance humor and drama, not someone who considers character development a joke. If it were being brought back, by someone else? I'd be just as skeptical, but even if Seth Macfarclane brought back Mlaatr, I'd still be there during the first airing of the upcoming film. Okay, I kid about that part, but still. I'm very...Well, flattered at me being mentioned, though. I shall admit, I HAVE been in a sour mood lately simply due to being unsuccessful in finding my first job. If cartoons don't cheer me up, nothing can, and I'm left to act like Eeyore. XP

Dude, calm down. I don't think there's too many people "leaving" the fandom, there's just not much going on to keep them interested, especially when there are other shows that are still going. And Zero didn't give up after less than a year, he's still active and dealing with his own stuff IRL. And Tremorton's been around since 2004, so he definitely didn't give up after just one year. The fact of the matter is, it's hard to stay really interested in a show that's been off the air for several years, and a forum that occasionally slows to a crawl. You can't blame people for getting excited about new shows, or movies, or whatever. It's just the way things go. On another note, Terminator, your behavior is unacceptable. First off, nibbles actually is in charge of the Facebook Forum, and beside that, why the hell do you have to be so rude to him? Would it be so hard to, I dunno, NOT insult members, like it says in the terms that you agreed to by joining this forum? Every time I see you post it's always these really rude, blunt comments and that is not acceptable. If you aren't going to respect your fellow forum members than you need to leave, plain and simple.

Inspector Trollface is here to trawl posts. Also, sprites are too pixelated. Sorry, but your sprites is bulls*hit. Who gives a $hit, Weegee??? Meep meep all of these are Terminators posts, just backing you up. Inspector Trollface(me) is ALLWAYS on duty:D:D:D:D:D:D:D As for the angry-face post about us leaving..were not leaving. Were just doing other things and putting this for later. Some people come here every day cause they dont have other hobbies other than seeing internet cartoons and complain that no ones online. AHEM HAPPY TREE FRIENDS FAN Its all becuase people misunderstood of why the forums here for in the first place. Its not active, it's just a slow meeting place for MLAATR fans, not a 24/7 radio station. People have other things to do than post in forums, like fishing and watching other cartoons, playing games and doing summer-work. So chill a bit and wait for those little fish to nib it. Other things can be done in the meantime.

I am trying to help out although I was busy filling in Archie Sonic information in comic vine. I feel that characters haven’t been treated well lately. I can take Jenny being centerfold eye candy for so long. There haven’t been that many pictures of them being badass. Sheldon is a secret agent pirate who is over hundred but people think of him as a weak coward. I need to make poll of which characters has been having the worst treatment by the fans. I may be the reason the last role play was done horribly since I try bring a fight in soft comedy. I thought a little action is needed since the setting is in Tremorton. I was going to use food from the episode Spoonful of Mayhem and make it a mistaken identity. Yes I have been thinking a little too deeply of the show but many have been treated this too shallow. this is a reason that this show is underrated. I still need work on mlaatr fics and other artwork, but I have weakened big time since my scanner does not work.

Frankly?
Kasey does say it well:
It is dellusionement. MLaaTR is, in retrospective, a serie that is made of missed potential.
MLaaTR was unique in the way that it have the potential to have both great humor and *GREAT DRAMA*. I need to underline because it is important.
It is a serie where the character's status, nature, and the overall setting are much deeper than the usual cartoon, with a background story that actually makes sense. There are countless ways the characters could interact, countless stories to be told, and many ways the character development can go. And best of all, it can be done without sacrificing the humor thanks to the characters' zany natures & personality clashing.
Few series can pull off a potential whiplash like this without becoming grotesque and likewise, unlike some series, MLaaTR can do it without going too far into either direction.
The real problem? Two of them, one of which concern canon and the other, the fandom.
The canon one is simple: to Rob, MLaaTR is only a cartoon.
And I will also be frank.
MLaaTR, as a cartoon, is actually fairly bad. The humor-only episodes demonstrate extremely well that quite frankly, the setting is no good at all without its drama.
You will notice that episodes that are liked the most are overwhelmingly plot-heavy ones, where background is exposed or where climatic fights happen. You will also notice that the overwhelmingly hated ones are filler episodes, with 'random' jokes centering about a common robot joke or 'Sheldon is a nerd'.
This is because, unlike Rob's other serie (Mina), MLaaTR's premise works thanks to its setting. The setting give the characters life and make the jokes relevent and funny. It is specifically the build-ups and circumstances that make MLaaTR funny.
Remove that, contradict everything, deny everything and the serie fall flat.
And this is why Rob must not be the one to continue it.
Elements like the ominous menace of XJ-9 being replaced by XJ-10, the Cluster connection to Nora, and the various sub-plots regarding villains and their own ambitions and plans 'color' the setting, giving it continuity and life as a whole. It makes us care about the characters and really make their blunders amusing as well allowing for true drama to happen without resorting to cheap things like a random character being killed off.
But Rob does not see it. When asked of the future, he think things like "XJ-10 as a kid sidekick so we can make jokes about it!" And that is contrary to the setting, to why fans clung to it.
The other problem is the fandom itself, to say the truth.
In all of my years of being exposed to various fandoms, I have rarely seen one so afraid, so unwilling to touch upon the serie it is watching.
It is one soaked in original characters and in a paranoia-level refusal to assume its interpretations of the canon. And what little interpretations there are tend to be so wildly unconnected or character-breaking (like that absolutely dreadful manga-styled lesbian XJ-9 x Misty comic) that they might as well be about another serie entirely.
And whenever you try asking questions about the setting or actually elaborating on it, you're ignored and worst than all, tend to make the fans bored.
To me, this is why I no longer bother with MLaaTR much.
Its creator is blind to its own creation and the fans don't care about it either.
So why should I bother?
It is too bad. I'd love to see someone expand on the serie and likewise, I'd love to see people take interest and start creating as well.
But I won't see it. I doubt I will.

...that absolutely dreadful manga-styled lesbian XJ-9 x Misty comic... Link please. Anyway, I think the problem with the fandom isn't that they're afraid to develop the mythos so much as they're simply unsure what to do with it since, as you note, the canon gives them so little to work with. The characters are flatter than Kansas, the setting is simplistic, and the plots only rarely suggested a larger history. Expanded universes flourish when a well-established continuity is in place to provide plenty of plot hooks. By comparison, MLaaTR is building its EU on a foundation of sand. So you see a bunch of fanart, because we at least know what the characters look like, but very little fanfic.
