Before thou joins, be sure to check on the backstory to make sense of what will be happening. tremorton.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=creativity&action=display&thread=1401&page=1tremorton.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=writings&action=display&thread=1404I'll be perfectly honest here: I'm not that much of a fan for supernatural characters. As a request, please avoid using supernatural elements that seem to have the ability to slaughter at will. They just... bug me. ----- "Makes no sense," Jakob said after the emergency broadcast vanished. "How so?" KPG asked. "The genetics doctor, Gene. He's been mingling with Queen Vexas regarding better human relations. I have a feeling that there will be an argument breaking out between the two." KPG hummed. This wasn't something the Cluster would do. They wanted to enslave the human race, not obliterate it. Skyway Patrol's main headquarters wasn't even stationed in Europe. "This wasn't the Cluster," KPG said. "Skyway Patrol is too full of deep-down cowards to pull off such a stunt," Jakob added. He knew- he fought them before. "Looks like they're making their move. Two years. Ever thought they gave up on us?" "Better safe than sorry, like you said," Jakob replied. "Considering this destruction, they're targeting the second-most powerful organization first. That way, it would put pressure on the most powerful, and probably allow them to fall right into a trap." "And that means..." "Invasion." "Sounds like the job I was meant for," Jakob said, doing a systems check. "I will go with you. However, I will need to develop better weapons for ourselves. Wait a week, and I'll have everything." Jakob understood. Both of them walked down to the lab, ready to begin the biggest upgrade process ever. ----- A week passes. Neither made outside contact for the seven days, or the next three days after. The place looked more deserted than ever. Door was locked completely, and no high-volume Pink Floyd music blared outside slightly. If anyone actually cared, they'd notice that Jakob and KPG simply vanished.

Champ patrolled the rooftops. The night was almost silent. It was as if since the destruction of Europe no one wanted to leave their homes. He wondered why he bothered patrolling anymore, he had barely seen a soul all night. Something felt different about the city. Something was missing. But as much as his mind wondered, it couldn't seem to figure out what.

Alex had been in his basement since the destruction of Europe....he had come to the same conclusion as everybody else: The Cluster wasn't willing to negotiate. So he had built himself a ship....completely armed to the teeth, aerodynamic, and as fast as humanly possible with the materials on hand.
He had gone that day to enlist the aid of Jakob.....who appeared to be gone without any sort of warning. He would have to go it alone, as Jenny already had her hands full with the duties of defending earth.
He would try to talk to them first.....but, that failing, he would be as prepared as possible to fight to the death.
He was going to Cluster Prime itself.
But first, he had some testing to do on his ship. He needed to make sure it was space-worthy, and that all systems ran perfectly.
So, on that cold, dark night, a roof opened up in the suburbs, and what appeared to be a metallic arrow-head with wings at various angles (paper-airplane like in it's shape) floated up, and began ascending towards the atmosphere.
It could be seen for miles, and anybody in the city spotted it immediately.
Panic ensued, as people thought that their city was under attack by the same force that destroyed the entire European continent.

"Hurm... Looks like a ship,"
"Any ideas, Lieutenant?"
"I'd guess it would be an ambassador. It looks like it's designed for space travel. Probably a messenger from Skyway Patrol. Doesn't have their Signature symbol, though..."
"What does it mean, Lieutenant?"
"Means that it's someone who's trying to take matters into his own hands. Can't be DRAWL, however. Not much of a threat."
The two scouts packed up their binoculars and crawled their way through the thick foliage. Their suits were specifically designed for all forms of missions, capable of throwing off just about every scanner in existence. They crawled for a mile, and found their hidden camp. Two more soldiers in the squad were there.
"What'd you find, Lieutenant?"
"Tremorton just launched a UFO of sorts."
"Skyway Patrol?"
"If it were them, I wouldn't say "UFO", would I?"
"Does it pose a problem?"
"We'll wait another twelve hours. If it doesn't return, we'll move in."
"What if it does?"
"We'll request backup."

Champ stared at the ship from his rooftop perch. That definitely wasn't normal. He headed in the direction he had last seen it, unsure of what exactly he was going to do. It was certainly not something he could handle himself, but he felt the need to at least investigate.

Turning was good....thrusters were perfect, all systems holding steady. Hull was airtight. He steered his ship to a point above the woods, and tested his weapons systems on a dry, already cratered clearing. He would have to reload them, but he knew that they were all working at full capacity. He checked the engines, rechecked the coding....all was good.
Then he noticed the people shouting in the distance.
He drove the ship above the larger part of the crowd.
"I am not here to harm you. I am merely testing this ship, which has been built to STOP the Cluster Menace from attacking our planet further. Please remain calm. I will be redocking my ship momentarily. Please return to your normal bussiness." He projected from speakers mounted to the outside of the ship.
He spotted some Skyway Patrol officers calling the incident in....they didn't take too kindly to this type of 'interefering' by vigilantes.
Alex began steering the ship back towards his house. He would dock it and project a shield around his property once he got back. But for now, he had to test the speed at which the thrusters could propel his ship safely......
A sonic boom ensued above the crowd, which was loud enough to be irritating, but not loud enough to cause hearing loss, as the distance was too great to cause damage.

"Looks like it's back," the Lieutenant muttered as he picked up an odd apparatus. He spoke into it.
"GrandMaster, this is Evening Harder. We're hidden in the outskirts of Tremorton. We have been undergoing reconnaissance for the past four days now. No signs of DOC or DRAWL."
There was no answer for five whole minutes, then a voice spoke up.
"Evening Harder, this is GrandMaster. Go ahead, Lieutenant."
"There is an unidentified flying object going on what looks like a test run. It has been confirmed to not be part of Skyway Patrol. We do not think that it is the work of DOC."
Five minutes later...
"Understood."
"We will need backup for when we move in."
Five minutes...
"Understood. I will relay the request to Top Brass."
"Ten-four. Initiating radio silence until further notice." The Lieutenant said before putting away the apparatus. He then turned to the three squadmates. "Okay, suit up, check your weapons, secure everything. We're going to move in."
The four exchanged brief salutes.
"How about that blast from the ship, eh?" One soldier said.
"Further evidence that it was a test run and nothing more. Not DOC or his little DRAWL pet."
All three finished preparations, and jumped once to test their gear. No sound came from them save for the landing itself.
The Lieutenant soon did the same thing, and he made no sound either.
"Lets move."

((OOC:Bump) The sonic boom from the ship irritated Champ's ears. He tried to figure out where exactly it had disappeared to. He was awfully interested by it's creator, although he wasn't entirely sure they had the best plan. Right now everyone's tensions were running high, and the wrong move could cause chaos. He stuck to the rooftops as he attempted to relocate the ship. In the back of his mind he wondered what Azure was doing just then, and if she'd kill him for paying her a visit.

The town's liveliness was short-lived. Lights were shut off, waken babies were silenced, and men and women of any other age were asleep.
The Lieutenant and his squad were completely concealed in the darkness. Their movement didn't even disturb the grass. No crunch or rustle in their stealthy movements.
They efficiently combed the neighborhood they entered, and found the house with the best computer to use for their second phase of the mission.
A quick entry in the basement, followed by the faintest of clicks. Safeties were off. Their weapons wore suppressors. Their firearms would not even make a sound louder than a cough.
The four found two sets of stairs. They split into two groups of two and scaled both at once. Their submachine guns poked through doors and around corners.
They found the inhabitants of the house. A man with his wife, and three children. One boy, two girls. The boy was the middle of the children's age group.
Then they found the computer. Inside the boy's room, along with assorted gaming systems.
the Lieutenant gave hand signals, and his second-in-command pulled out a laptop. They plugged the laptop into the desktop, and he started typing away. The keyboard was also suppressed, and made no sound. The Lieutenant had his eyes on the boy. The other two were patrolling the dark house for movement of the other inhabitants.
After fifteen minutes of hacking, the second-in-command gave a thumbs-up, and disconnected.
The Lieutenant turned to stare straight in a pitch-black visor. Before he could act, a metal-clad hand grabbed his throat. He couldn't even gasp.
The figure pistol-whipped the second-in-command, who crumpled on the ground, unconscious.
The Lieutenant gave the figure hand-signals, promising to not make a sound. The figure knew the signals, and loosened his grip. He pointed to the Lieutenant and then to the second-in-command. He moved aside to show the Lieutenant the two unconscious squadmates. The figure then crossed two fingers sharply across his neck.
The Lieutenant couldn't believe he would stare Jakob right in the face, but he did, and he nearly pissed himself. The surprise, the suddenness, and the unknown elements that led Jakob to find them in that exact house.
Jakob carried the other two out, followed by the Lieutenant. Once the Lieutenant put down his unconscious comrade, another click sounded off. This time, of a different weapon. The Lieutenant put his hands on his head.
"I see you're starting your grand operation," a more hushed, but still-harsh voice growled behind him.
Suddenly, the Lieutenant swung an elbow backward. His second hand grabbed his suppressed SMG. The swung elbow slammed into the SMG that KPG held. It was knocked out entirely.
A quick burst threw KPG off of his feet, and the Lieutenant grabbed the second SMG. It was also suppressed.
When he turned to blast at Jakob, he was not there. A rustle piqued his attention, and he spun again.
KPG was gone as well.
"Well, crap," the Lieutenant said. He picked up all three unconscious squadmates and ran back into forests which bordered the back yards of the neighborhood.

Alex had since docked his ship through the swinging section he had built into his roof (after it's previous destruction). He dumped the ships memory into his desktop console, and found everything to be just about how he had intended.
All that was left was to haul the fuel and supplies on board, get in, and then completely seal the ship.
He noticed, zooming in a few miles, that there was somebody jumping between rooftops toward his position, and, hearing noises from the rear, noticed a man dragging several uniformed bodies into the woods.
He decided to sit tight and see how things developed from there.

From the rooftops Champ saw someone dragging what appeared to be several bodies towards the woods. He descended from the rooftops, heading toward them. When he was in shouting distance he drew his sword and called to them. "I really hope your buddies there are just drunk!" He shouted sarcastically.

The Lieutenant turned to see a figure. The glint of a blade protruding from its hand.
Damned DRAWL killed their camouflage index. They've been compromised.
He put down the three soldiers and started prodding them lightly in pressure points. One by one, the rest of the squad woke up.
"Yeah, actually," the Lieutenant said. The second-in-command disappeared into the shadows. He had realized that they forgot the laptop back in the boy's room.
The other three kept their hands on their silenced weapons. The glint of the blade was a giveaway that this newcomer was not that friendly, but they needed to make sure it was not hostile. It would be a long run back to camp.

Alex opened his window slightly, just enough that he could jump out if he needed to. He cast himself as his old self, looking like a typical 17-year-old boy using his stealth, and prepared to enter the fray if things got out of hand.

"Really?" Champ asked, "Seem awfully dressed up to go drinking." He tilted his head slightly. "Say," He said, "I don't think I recognize your uniform."

It was too early for Canada to be discovered. The squad had to think quickly if they were to make a believable impression on this guy.
They resorted with the time-buying maneuver. They kept their voices down to not wake up any neighbors.
"And what's it to you to know who we are? Considering you don't recognize this uniform, it usually means we want to stay hidden for a reason."
The second-in-command returned. The laptop was secure. They had what they needed.
