I've been wondering about certain attributes Jenny has, in regards of her technical specifications.
Living metal. Is Jenny made of a simulated soft tissue metallic substance? She appears more flexible then solid metal at times.
Also she needs to exercise to maintain her physical form, much like a living being does. Jenny does require sleep and to ingest nutrients, also a feature of a living creature. And it was shown that Jenny has a digestive system much like an organic's, which she would need to process what she consumes. And it is stated here and there that Jenny knows what human food tastes like (in particular, she has a fondness for sweetness, chocolate, cakes, things like that). Which would imply since she knows what they taste like, that she does have the ability to taste her food and drink.
There have also been occassions where Jenny has self-healed, regenerating damaged parts either to replace them when they are damaged in battle or using an external charger to regenerate when she's been massively damaged.
The most obvious example of this is in Enclosure of Doom, when her hand blasters are damaged beyond repair, she snaps them off (so she can use her hands properly) and throws them away. Then later in the same episode, the exact same blasters are recreated. Which would be impossible unless she has a regeneration ability.
All of this would point to the fact Jenny is a living being, not just a mechanical girl.
I assume Jenny has pressure feedback sensors, so she knows how much pressure she is exerting when gripping something or closing her fingers together (to hold a pencil for example). These sensors could also tell her if she's damaged, in case she can't see what is broken. Likewise, they could monitor force impacts from her enemies. But apparently, this ability is not a substitute for a proper sense of touch, since Wakeman experimented with creating proper nerve endings (even though the experiment was ultimately a failure). I would speculate that Jenny does feel pain, though not as we do. Or at least, she recieves sensory information equivalent to that.
Another thing I am puzzling over is the heat error. In two episodes, Jenny is threatened or damaged by blowtorches. Considering Jenny has taken direct hits from Cluster energy weapons and (in one case), been at ground zero of a Cluster superwarhead detonation, that she has extreme temperature resistance. So compared to the temperatures of those devices, a blowtorch wouldn't even be a tickle.
Also, I have wondered about the water inconsistency. Most of the time, I think they're playing this for jokes, Jenny rusting solid or short-circuiting.
But it's not exactly logical, who would build a weapon of mass destruction that can be disabled by spraying water on her?
Also, there has been a specific occassion where Jenny's internal mechanisms were flooded with water the only reaction she had was to unscrew her hand and pour the water out.
So, given the above example, I would assume that Jenny has no vulnerablity to water, not if her entire body was filled with it and nothing happened.

In my Original stories, I came up with the concept of Biorobotics: robotic technology that tends to take on a very organic operation. In one OF more specifically, it was usually achieved when living organisms had literally mutated from organism to machine usually by some sort of accidental science experiment (often in relation to teleportation).
Likewise, there was also the proposed idea of a certain few robots being built and still having very human mechanical qualities.
In observation of the basics for XJ9:
Skin and Hull: Metallic alloy specifically designed to contract upon an electrical discharge: much like an actual muscle fiber.
Food Metabolisation and processing: For figure maintenance: Metallic bulk can be generated or destroyed much like fat and muscle can be built or burnt (Given this is a cartoon, discrepancies on the technicality are very possible). For energy: Carbohydrate electrical synthesization. For taste: Chemical receptors in nose and mouth (yes the nose does play a very minor role in taste determination). For Digestion: a digestive system resembling the human digestion: which implies very much so she is capable of eating.
Regeneration: Two theories can derive from this:
A: Temporal Splicing: much like a data reset on a computer, this restores broken or damaged objects to the last recorded time they actually worked. Possible with a single device. B: Regenerator?
Heat resistance error: Could be a chronological thing?
Water: Likely a joke.
Given this was a cartoon, not everything does have to make sense after all. Even my thoughts are all just me throwing stuff to the wall and seeing what sticks.

I doubt the heat resistance error is chronological.
The episode in which she takes a direct hit from a Cluster weapon is one of the earliest, which naturally, places it before every episode that involves blowtorches.
I suspect this is just a case of logic fail, they do this from time to time, they want Jenny to be in peril when in truth, there are very few things capable of damaging her.
She was even hit with enough force to demolish a building and all it did was put a dent in the ground where she was standing.
I'm assuming only a High Level Cluster Unit (such as Vexus or Smytus) or an artificial entity of equivalent power can really damage her. Vega is also classified as a High Level Cluster Unit, although not a hostile one. Outside of the Cluster, that only really includes Melody, the other XJ units (at least, the ones with combat capability, not all had the ability to fight) and possibly YK-9 (although no data on his combat abilities is given, it's unlikely he has any at all).

Are we talking show canon, or speculating?
Jenny always seemed have a solid metal shell. and with no nerve centers it wouldn't make sense for her to have "soft" metal. But like Plink said, it really doesn't have to make sense.
And Jenny has taken damage serious enough to compromise her structure(IE "The Great Unwashed). And was just crude TNT.

I think were speculating.
Well the Electromotive metal idea wasn't exactly something that compromised the solidity of the metal Alloy itself. But I'm not apart of the story crew of the show. So im making it up as I go.
Again it is a cartoon. Cartoons almost always bend the laws of physics.

Well a topic like this is half speculation, half canon.
I propose we ignore the parts that are done just for jokes or a plot point that doesn't really make sense.
The TNT one you cited is a good example of what we should ignore.
The Cluster Superwarhead has a yield significantly higher then TNT and it failed to scratch her paint or damage her structure.
I'm assuming the reason she has soft metal is for flexibility. For example, her fingers curve like a human's, they're not rigid or mechanically jointed.
And when she shoots out her "stretchy arm", Brad picks it up somewhere in the middle and it bends much like a thick rope would.
So, I assume the metal Jenny is made of can soften or harden depending on whatever situation she needs it for.
An analogy would be tightening up muscles to absorb impact. If someone has powerful abdominal muscles and tenses them, a punch to the stomach will just hurt your hand.
Although I assume in most cases, Jenny is operating in "hard mode" to resist damage and only releases the tension when necessary.
Also, I assume that only certain parts of her body are permanently solid, other parts may not be as rigid.
Her face (to choose an example) would naturally be more flexible, to allow her to change her expression. Otherwise she'd just have a blank look on her face all the time and Jenny does change her expression quite a lot depending on her mood, much like an organic being does.
I've also speculated that Jenny can remove her clothes (top, skirt and boots) much like an organic, but unlike an organic, these are actually rigid plates of metal (presumably with some kind of catch or seam to open them). Her top for example, has a hidden seam right down the front (it opens up whenever the tv screen pops out).
This is supported somewhat by two different statements. Although we don't see the material in question, Nora owns photos of Jenny "without her armor" and Jenny doesn't wish anyone to see these pictures, because they're embarrassing.
Also, one time, Jenny does ask Nora to make her "super cute yellow foil PJs", indicating that she can change her clothes if she specifically asks for a new outfit.

I don't know about "changing" outfits, but she is very well able to transform outfits.

The XJ line was made for any situation as they are a world response unit. Jenny was likely made as a literal plot device and has an arsenal ready for any situation including fashion. she just needs to learn how to use it. I still thinking what her other sisters could do She has titanium skin and probably inside is made copper for electric wiring. She has fiber glass and aluminum for the energy panels and satellite dishes.

As I butcher it. I don’t mind playing along. Is there any preferred tools you have for mlaatr? I love hammers but more specific Mighty Mallet. I blunt interment best describes combat messy and destructive also question my sanity if continue it too long but it makes a big impact. I also love the Shiva swords for multiple swords for overkill.

The laws of physics literally do not apply in this cartoon(or any cartoon for that matter), as Jenny can have so much packed into that petite body of hers. It's like Wakeman wanted her prepared for any given situation. I for one favor the giant fists feature.

From I read on wiki titanium can take water including salgirl tooler and chlorine. It can even take nuclear waste but it is not air proof. That means Jenny has to beware of being oxidized. If she covers her electric parts she will be OK such as her submarine mode.

Jenny's strength was said to be 1,000,000,070 men in the intro. If the The average strength of a man is 110 pounds than in total Jenny can lift 110,000,007,700 pounds. That is an estimate 50 kilograms. That is as much as a giant octopus. You know for a girl that supposed to be weigh like a ton this seems unimpressive. Perhaps I exaggerated her weight as well.

In terms of Jenny's seemingly-impossible transformations, I'm going to reference Getter Robo
Getter Robo's transformation is usually too fast for the naked eye to see, but in this instance (the only one in the entire franchise that shows any part of it in detail) shows that the Getter shape-shifts by re-configuring thousands of small metal plates. The same could be true for Jenny, allowing her to seemingly mass-shift and pull weapons out of nowhere. Probably like the T-1000, with the ability to make moving parts while not necessarily being nano-tech.

I need to double check I am seeing 49,895,160,160kg in the metric-conversion.org site. Google scale isn't that reliable. I need to find better reliable sources. If what you say is correct then she can lift about three-fifths of the weight of the Golden Gate Bridge. This would be just her bare hands. I am seeing the equivalent in bluebulbprojects.com. how much is pound to kilogram actually is. I think I have to find a better conversion site or I have to do it all manually.
