Plink nodded. "I suppose I could say something." He said. Alice beamed as he said this.

Wakeman gestured at the Mic, stepping out of the way.
"Go ahead," She said, "The stage is yours."

Plink stood up and walked to the mic.
It was at this that both Maxwell and Jane grinned widely with excitement.
"Thank you Dr. Wakeman." He said. "I want to start off by first stating that, while we are going to teach you how to become exceptional individuals, it is up to you to be one. We are to be responsible for teaching you moral excellence, perseverence, and good character. But we can only go so far as to teach you this. In the end, the responsibility of your good comes to you." It was here that Plink paused a bit to think. "The responsibility of your good is on you. No one else is going to be held accountable for your disrespect or disobedience in life. So it is with kindness that I tell you to be aware of what you can do to negatively effect the others around you. It is also with kindness that you take into account the consequences of your actions. We can only teach you to do so much. It is up to you to apply what we've taught you."
It was with this that Plink stepped away from the microphone.

"Well said, Plink," Doctor Wakeman said, "Now, when I call your name please join your homeroom teacher at the front of the room."
As Doctor Wakeman spoke the homeroom teachers spread out in front of the stage. It didn't take long for her to call Ayame's name, and to Ayame's relief she wasn't in her father's class. Even better, her sister was in the same homeroom as her. She had to smile at that, and together they rose to join Jenny at the front of the room. As they walked past Champ he put a hand on Ayame's shoulder, and she turned to look at him.
"Hey," He said, "Sorry to interrupt, but I didn't get a chance to talk to you before you left this morning."
Ayame tried to smile, but wasn't quite successful. As if she wasn't going to have to try hard enough to avoid being compared to her father once classes started, here he was giving a visual for the comparison in front of everyone.
"I heard you two had a bit of a rough start to your school year," He said.
Ayame's frown deepened. If there was one thing she liked less than being compared to her father, it was disappointing him. As much as she might dislike being thought of as just his daughter, she did love having him for a dad, and she hated to let him down.
"Yeah," She said, "I wasn't paying attention and..."
"And some jerk tried to start stuff with her," Skyler interrupted.
Champ turned to his younger daughter, smiling.
"Well, I assume you helped your sister out?" He asked.
Skyler grinned, proud of herself.
"Of course," She said.
Champ sighed, rolling his eyes, but continuing to smile at his children.
"Sky," He said to his youngest, "I might not always like these fights you get into, but I have to say that I'm proud of your loyalty to your sister."
Sky beamed, and her grin widened.
"Of course," She said, "You know I'd do anything for her."
Champ nodded, patting her on the head.
"Well, let's try to put all that behind us,"He said, "Hopefully we can get the rest of the school year off on the right foot, eh?"
Ayame smiled, nodding.
"I'll try, dad," She said.
He nodded, hugging his children to him and sending them on their way. As they parted Ayame sighed, hoping that the other students hadn't made much of a big deal out of the exchange.
((OOC:Plink, I haven't really assigned your characters to a home room yet, so you're free to send them to whichever one you want.))

Zeik observed Ayame and Skyler interact with their father. While he did feel fuzzy inside about their affection for each other, he also cringed as it reminded it of how overbearing and protective his own father was. Not wanting to see the show, he went straight to his homeroom teacher, Jenny Wakeman.

Maxwell heard himself get assigned to his homeroom class: Jenny Wakeman's class. He felt a tad bit bummed that it wasn't his any of his parents. But he felt glad all the same. Jane, on the other hand, was assigned to her father: Plink's class. "Lucky." Max said jokingly. Jane rolled her eyes and playfully stuck her tongue out at him.
((Gosh. Most everbody chose Jenny.

[Sorry I'm late, everyone!]
Gene Wright stood at the front of the auditorium, watching his students assemble one by one, and thought about the events that had led him to this point. After the thorny legal issues surrounding Earth's metahuman community had been sorted out to her satisfaction, Vexus had offered him a regular job in the Old Cluster's diplomatic corps, a job he turned down to devote more time to his research. He finally finished his doctorate and had spent the past few years running a small nanite repair shop in the Cenarius sector and visiting Earth periodically for family functions. It had been a long while since he'd used any metahuman abilities, which is why it came as such a surprise when Dr. Wakeman offered him a teaching job at her school for young metas. Nonetheless, the siren song of academia was too strong to resist, and he readily accepted her invitation.
As the students gathered in front of Gene, one in particular caught his attention. "Miss Utonium?"
"Just Blossom, sir," the redheaded girl said.
"It's an honor to meet you. Your father is one of the brightest minds of our time, and you and your sisters represent the pinnacle of human achievement in my field." Gene smiled. "Just don't think I'll go easy on you because of it." The girl was soon joined by her sister Buttercup. "You too? Nice. I was just telling your sister that I'm a big fan of your father's work. He's done more to advance our knowledge of metahuman bioengineering than just about anyone."

As Karen also attended the speech of the first semester, she saw around her, many friends, many heroes and both villains. She wonders, what will happen after the graduation? The ones used to be her friends today, could be her enemies tomorrow.
She noticed her father, staying at the same line with his colleagues. When the Wakeman's speech ended, some teachers and students expressed their opinions, but not him. Koith is not the guy who wants to win the crowd, Karen knows her daddy well. Besides, waiting till the speech ended, he heads back to his room and does what he must - training the students.
There are too many faces that Karen could make her first stand here, but recently, it's not the best time to do this. Better now, she must choosing her classes.
After a long time for checking, Karen had chosen these subjects as the addition: Engineering, Chemistry, US History and Advanced Combat - which her father is teaching now. For the reason why she didn't choose another combat techniques, such as sword fighting or martial arts, before coming to this place, Koith had taught his daughter well. Karen hopes to follow his path, becoming a soldier who fights, who protects and dies in the humble silence. But, in her memories, her father didn't show that he appreciate this way, although it follows the family's tradition...
...
In Koith's class, meeting the new students, he introduced:
-Greetings to all who wants to be a competent fighter! I'm Koith "KM-08", Ex-Captain of Delta Force. You can call me "Mr.", "Captain", "Capt" or "Sir KM-08"! For many reasons, you had attended yourself into my class, and many of you must asking why this place had chosen me, a normal robot soldier instead of a superhero, or someone else with many things called "supers"? Who knows the answers?
One student raised his hand:
-Because you're the veteran?
-That's the half of the reason!-Koith nodded-But, there's one thing left and yet you guys are not answer! Who will help the class to reveal it?
Now the students couldn't answer anymore, they can't get more reasons why this veteran becoming their trainer.
-No?-Koith asked-Ok, then that's your homework for your whole semester, just relax and thinking the best reason for it! Anyways, here's my first question for this first lesson, Combat 101! What is the best qualities for a fighter?
And now many had raised their hands. Choosing one of the crowd, that student answered:
-Experience, sir!
-And?-Koith continued.
-Strength!-The student replied.
-And many of my comrades died because of this!-The soldier finished-Yes, you're a veteran, you have superpowers, super strength,.etc. But, don't even think that you are invincible! Even Superman also vulnerable to Kryptonite.
Then, another student raised her hand up:
-Isn't that intelligence?
-That's the second of three qualities needed for a fighter!-Koith nodded-Never get yourself killed like a dummkopf! The longer you live, the more you can up against the enemies. And, what's the third, our final quality to be a good fighter?
-Sir!-Another student showed his opinion-Isn't it courage?
-And...Ja! You got it,-Koith nodded, then writing all of three things on the board-You're smart, you're aged in your experience. But, running and hiding in the time of need will help you never be a fighter, only a coward does!

((OOC:Plink, there is a full roster of staff and students in the FAQ thread...which I've now had to edit since the only ones that seem to have read it are Hunter and Agai. Oh well, my bad for not drawing attention to it. Anyway, you can go ahead and update me as to what you want Plink and Alice to teach while we're at it so that I can get it up to date. Also, just so we're clear, the students are currently in their HOMEROOM classes, not in actual classes. The typical schedule for a day at the academy is as follow: Homeroom Class 1 Class 2 Lunch Class 3 Class 4 Dinner
That said, this won't particularly matter on the first day because...well, we'll get to that in a moment. Finally, to clarify, the school is a boarding school, so rooms will be provided for all students, as well as any staff members that elect to stay on campus.))
"Um...thank you, I guess, Dr.Wright," Blossom said, "You know you could tell him yourself, he is the Chemistry teacher, and I'm sure he'd love to talk to you about his work."
"Better than having him try to explain it to us," Buttercup said, "Honestly, everytime he tells me about what he's working on I just smile and nod." ***
After all of her students were assembled Jenny led them to their designated homeroom. As she opened the door she turned to them, smiling.
"Alright everyone," She said, laying on what Ayame had to assume was what she thought of as her 'teacher voice', "If you could, please find the seat that has your schedule on it and sit down. After today we won't have assigned seats, but I wanted to make sure that everyone was able to get a schedule, and I thought it would give you all a chance to get to know some new people."
The students quickly spread out, finding their appropriate seats. Ayame was glad to see that she was directly beside Zeik and in front of Skyler. As she looked at her schedule she smiled, finding more good news, she wasn't in a class with her father. Instead Wakeman had placed her in Intro to Sword Fighting, Gym, English I, and Mythical Studies. Of course, she was fairly certain that she was good enough to be placed in the advanced Sword Fighting class, but she was glad to have avoided the class, since it would only continue to encourage comparisons to her father. Besides, she had heard interesting things about Sensei Jack from her dad, and she was intrigued to see how he would teach his class.
Ayame's reverie was broken quite suddenly by the sound of a voice beside her.
"So, you're Ayame Mars I take it?" The voice said.
Ayame turned, seeing an asian boy with long black hair looking straight at her. She didn't like the way he was looking at her, it almost seemed as if he was a predator observing its prey.
"Yeah," She said, "Why?"
He gave a smile, and a chill went down Ayame's spine, as she realized there was absolutely no joy in his expression.
"I saw your little scrape with Princess," He said, "I have to admit, if that really is the extent of your skill I'm disappointed. I expected better from the children of Champ Mars."
From behind her Ayame could hear Skyler growl in anger. Chase turned to her, apparently amused at her anger.
"Ah, and that is Skyler, I presume," He said, "Tell me, what was worse, the fact that when your so-called Teen Team fell apart your friend Nimbus betrayed you, or the fact that when you tried to stop him he beat you without even breaking a sweat."
Ayame turned quickly to Skyler, putting a hand on her wrist to try to calm her down. She could tell it wasn't doing any good. Few things set Skyler off like the mention of their former friend, and on top of everything else that had happened today Ayame was afraid that Skyler was about to end up in yet another fight.
((OOC:For the record, I do intend to write about Skyler and Ayame's time with the second Teen Team at some point. For now, however, I think that story should wait for another day.))

"Why do you think we're here?" Zeik said to Chase, "We've all got flaws in our technique that need ironing out. If you've got anything to brag about and belittle others over, you'd be a teacher and not a student."
((Speaking of which, WHY IS CHASE YOUNG A STUDENT AND HOW COME I DIDN'T NOTICE BEFORE NOW!? 0_o I know he's immortal and therefore forever young (Also, can anyone explain how Master-Monk Guan is still alive?) but he's a master of martial arts that can only be beat by the best of the best. Not to mention Hannibal Bean's evil soup guarantees that he's permanently aligned with evil. Wakeman would make a HUGE mistake by signing him up as a student in a school for heroes, because he's probably forming a plan to kill EVERYONE, leaving the next generation completely vulnerable to villainy!
...Unless Zeik is right, of course.))

Gene nodded. "I can believe that. There's stuff in some of his papers even I don't understand. But, uh... yeah, I'll have to say hi to him some time. To be honest, I haven't had a chance to meet the rest of the faculty yet. I've been a bit busy getting settled back in on this planet." He looked up at the other students. "Anyway, it seems like the rest of you kids are here, so... let's go."
Gene led the students to his classroom and opened the door to let them in. "All right, so if you could all take a seat, I can start handing out your schedules." He followed the students inside and grabbed a stack of papers from his desk. "Okay, when I call out your name, just raise your hand and I'll give you your schedule. This'll help me associate some faces with the names on the roster." He looked down at the first paper. "First up... Astronomonov, Susan." No response. "No Astronomonov, Susan?"
"My name... is Mandark," a boy in the front row said while raising his hand.
Gene looked at Mandark. "Wait, you're... wow. You have my sympathies." He handed over the boy's schedule. "Here you go, Mandark." He looked at the class. "And if I hear anyone call him by that other name, there will be nine circles of Hell to pay. Moving on,..."

((OOC:To be honest, two reasons, one that exists to demonstrate a point using in universe logic, the second having to do with some of my plans. In-universe the reason is to demonstrate that there isn't realistically any way that Wakeman can accurately analyze all of the reports on students she receives, and therefore has to let a few bad eggs in without knowing it. It's fairly safe to assume that any info she has on Young is spotty at best, and that she believes his leaning towards evil is something that can be corrected, and not something he is incapable of changing. Secondly...I'll be honest, he makes a great villain, and I have too many stories planned that involve threats from outside the academy, so putting him inside the school ensures that I have at least one opponent that the students would have to deal with inside the walls of the school itself. Also, before we even get to it and someone calls me out on it, yes, we are going to do the first exam again, and yes, I am going to exaggerate the hell out of one teacher's abilities so that they can beat Chase. Take that as a sign that at least on some level Zeik is actually right.))
Chase smiled, turning his eyes to Zeik. As he did so Ayame realized one of the things that unnerved her about him, there was almost no way those eyes were human.
"Fair enough," He said, "But there's a difference between having a few flaws and getting beaten by a complete amateur. All of you come from parents renowned for their fighting ability. If what I saw earlier is really all you've got than you are all disgraces to your families' legacies."
Ayame winced at the accusation. Chase had just summed up everything she had feared her other students would believe, and she had a feeling that many other students shared his thoughts. Beside her Skyler was livid, her hand already going to her blade.
"That it!" She shouted, "If you want to see my fighting skills I'll give you a look first hand."
Chase grinned.
"Any time, little girl," He said.
Skyler prepared to draw her blade, Ayame rising to stop her, when Jenny's voice cut through the class.
"Settle down now," She said, and for a moment Ayame feared that she was about to get sent back to Wakeman's office, but when she turned to look at Jenny she seemed not to have noticed the argument.
Chase glanced at the sisters and Zeik, still smiling as he took his seat.
"Another time, perhaps," He said.
From the front of the room Jenny stood, moving to just in front of the board so that everyone could see her.
"Now, I'm sure you're all wondering what your first day of class is going to be like," She said, "And to be honest, we're excited to get to know all of you too, which is why our first day is a little different."
A murmur spread throughout the room, but Jenny waited patiently for it to die down.
"In exactly one hour each of you will go to the training room in the Physical Education building to take part in the first student skills exam," She explained, "The exams are designed to give us an understanding of your abilities, beginning with combat, and I have to warn all of you in advance that our methods are...a little different."
She smiled, turning and walking to the door.
"You've got just under an hour to prepare now," She said, "Good luck."
For a moment Ayame and the other students stared at her. Then, finally, a bald boy holding a plank of wood said what they were all thinking.
"Um...Ms.Wakeman, where are you going?" He asked.
Jenny smiled.
"Oh, I have a part to play in the exam," she said, "So I have to go make preparations of my own. You're all free to go, if you like, but if I can give a bit of advice, you're allowed to work with your fellow students during this first exam, so I would advise you to get to know them."
With that she left, and the students tried to process what they had just been told. Some began to leave, including Chase, who turned to the Mars Sisters and Zeik as he did so.
"Well, looks like you'll get a chance to show me those fighting skills after all," He said.
Then a smile played across his face again, even crueler than the ones that had come before.
"Good luck," He said, turning to leave. *** In the staff room Wakeman looked out at the assembled members of her faculty, trying to gauge the mood in the room.
"I assume you're all prepared for the exam?" She said.
"Sure," Said Champ from where he stood in the corner, "Though I hardly think leaving the students unattended to prepare for it was a great idea."
Wakeman sighed.
"They're not unattended," She said, "I have security teams combing all of the floors, and L is monitoring all of the rooms from his office. If something happens we'll be more than ready to deal with it."
Champ shrugged, seeming to be fine with this explanation. Beside him Danny Fenton spoke up.
"That's all fine," He said, "But this first exam is nuts. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole plan that we just fight these kids?"
Wakeman nodded.
"That's crazy!" Danny shouted, "Do you honestly think we can learn anything from this!?"
"Sure," Said Steve Rogers from the other side of the room, "As far as I'm concerned they're aren't many better ways to get to know someone's skills than to put them in an honest to goodness fight."
"Yeah, but these won't be fights, they'll be massacres!" Danny shouted.
Wakeman raised a hand to silence him.
"You sell your students short Danny," She said, "And besides, the idea isn't for them to win, it's to see how they react. I can think of few better ways to test the way these children think and use their skills in combat than to pit them against vastly superior opponents."
A smile played across her face then, and the mood lightened.
"Besides," She said, "You have to admit that you're a little curious to see if any of them can take you."
((OOC:Sorry there hasn't been time to do any real character development, but I wanted to set the stage for the rest of the episode. Now that that's out of the way let's take the prep time to have our characters really get to know each other.))

((...I can't argue with that. EXTREMELY STOKED for what you have in store.))
Zeik was unfazed by Chase.
"What a tool," Zeik really believed that Chase was just blowing his horn, mostly because he was talking about a fight that didn't even happen. "You alright, Ayame? You do know he was talking about a fight that didn't even happen, right?"
He put his hand on Ayame's shoulder, "Besides, I'm sure we'll make him eat his words, and a bit of steel and dirt to boot."
