Dude, I didn't say there are Mary Sues in most anime, I said I hate most anime. Until I find an anime in which every character has a decent amount of flaws, I can't disagree with you on that one. Then again, I'm no anime expert, I try to avoid the stuff.
Btw, people can hate certain characters without hating the show. There are mary sues in stuff I like, but I generally try to ignore the f*cker and watch the show for the lovable flawed characters. But if there are too many mary sues, I can't like the damn show no matter what.

And this topic is made to put down characters that score high on a simple test? I thought it was a topic designed to just show how characters did on the test, rather than force others to change their characters to meet the so-called "requirements of life".
Sure they may be Mary-Sues; and yes, they are frowned upon, but that doesn't necessarily give anyone the right, or responsibility to lash out at the creator of the character.
I don't see anyone lashing out at the makers of those animes for making the Mary-Sues, so why should the lesser-known people who post in this topic take the suffering and abuse?

And this topic is made to put down characters that score high on a simple test? I thought it was a topic designed to just show how characters did on the test, rather than force others to change their characters to meet the so-called "requirements of life". The test isn't just descriptive, like "Which Naruto character are you?" It's prescriptive, like "Are you at risk for prostate cancer?" If you score poorly on the test, you are expected to do something about it. And if you refuse, for no more reason than LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU, you deserve shame. Perhaps it was harsh to compare his actions to death itself, but not, I think, too harsh. Complacency leads to stagnation, stagnation leads to decay, and decay leads... to death. We see this pattern in many companies: a tolerance of mediocrity, then an embrace of mediocrity, then an outright rejection of quality, and finally self-destruction. And I won't see it happen here. Sure they may be Mary-Sues; and yes, they are frowned upon, but that doesn't necessarily give anyone the right, or responsibility to lash out at the creator of the character. Not necessarily, but neither does it deny anyone that right. I don't see anyone lashing out at the makers of those animes for making the Mary-Sues, so why should the lesser-known people who post in this topic take the suffering and abuse? Suethors who got famous off their "craft" are too far gone to be helped. (Paging Mr. Paolini, Mr. Christopher Paolini...) But the people here can still be salvaged. This isn't just humiliation, it's an intervention. Yes, my tone is sharp, but it reflects my passion on the subject and the gravity of the situation. You think I want these things? You think I want people to settle for fart jokes and palette swaps, just so I can make fun of them? No. I want them to improve. I want them to reach their potential, or at least to reach for their potential.

That's it! No you got me really angry! gojira.20m.com/G98ROAR.WAV(Incerates Hunter with atomic breath until he is dust. Dust blows him away.) Galatians 4:16. My words are harsh, but they are true. If you refuse them, if you refuse self-improvement, you may as well kill yourself now, because your life is already over. The test is only a guide and you really don't have to abide by it. it only serves to help make what could a good character better. In the end it's how people view the character that really matters, well to me anyway. And another thing: Colossians 3:13- Tolerance, and forgiving. 1 Peter 3:10- Restrain from speaking hurtfully to one another. Matthew 7:3,4; Luke 6:41,42- Beware hypocrisy, lest you look like a fool.

No one should abuse ANYONE, and I WON'T stand for it! I HATE bullies! The test is only meant to help make characters better. You have to admit, some OCs are just too overpowered. It's good to have balance. Having a high doesn't a bad character make. Sandman(DC comics) got a high score too. I imagine Superman would too. In the end, it depends on how others see your character. Don't be selfish, look to please your audience. THAT'S how you entertain.

In the end it's how people view the character that really matters, well to me anyway. Well, we could do a poll of that, but something tells me the results would only be more damaging to our resident Suethors' self-esteem. Eh. I'm not here to discuss whether my actions make baby Jesus cry. I just like the quote. Say what you will, but the LORD knoweth how to spin a phrase. The test is only meant to help make characters better. You have to admit, some OCs are just too overpowered. It's good to have balance. True. But regarding the characters in question, where is that balance? I mean, even if you set aside the results of the test, you would have a hard time making the case that they are anything but textbook Mary Sues.

Where the balance is, is for the audience to decide. Have you ever known actual show characters that you didn't like?
