-with cigarettes are driving me to the edge. I've been a social smoker since I was 14, and an addictive smoker since 15. I have managed to cut down from 15 cigarettes a day to 10 or, but I find it so difficult to stop. This morning I got so frustrated, and I let it off on the people around me. I know the results of cigarette smoking, however even with mere knowledge I am unaffected and continue to do it - the addiction is growing stronger day by day. People have tried scaring me with smoking facts, however I've reached a point wherein those have no effect on me. I would appreciate some support

Have you tried using those Nicorette thingamajobbers or some other stop-smoking product? Not sure if they work, but they probably couldn't hurt.

It's exactly how you describe it. An addiction. My own brother is struggling with quitting.
Knowing an acknowledging the damage caused by cigarettes is a good start, as well as admitting you have a problem.
What you're facing is a classic struggle of the body and mind. You know what the right thing to do is, but your body opposes you. Your goal is to take control back. It's all a matter of will and how badly you want to gain control.
Of course, it takes baby steps.
It's not the cigarettes themselves your body wants, but the nicotine within. Using patches are a method of getting of getting a nicotine fix, but is slow in effect. Breathing takes nicotine in faster, and of course is usually done via smoking. This is why most people relapse attempting to use the patch.
A nicotine inhaler would be most effective for treatment. I'm not a doctor, so I suggest you see a doctor about getting prescription. The idea is to get your nicotine fix, and gradually lowering the dose until you're weaned off of it for good.
I hope this helps.
EDIT:
Heh, this reminds me:

Thanks guys! I am searching for nicotine patches as of now. But in case I cannot find them, I've been cutting down so it wouldn't be so hard for me to go cold-turkey.
Wild commercials by the way haha.

More video games, less nicotine.
Besides, that crap smells horrendous.

Tried the video-game thing a long time ago, and it actually worked haha. I only had like 2 cigarettes that day, but it was completely unintentional
Got exams this week, and I'm down to 3 with one nicorette gum a day ^^

Way to go, Selina! Nice to know you're slowly easing off them.
