And to think that this used to be the center of Tamerlane's empire...
Thanks to some unwelcome Soviet influence the Uzbek government is rather Authoritarian.

It's also one of the 15 Internet "Black Holes", soon to be 16 if Steven Conroy gets the go-ahead for his f*****g internet filter for Australia...

An internet filter? 0_0
Jesus balls of fire! That guy is moving Australia closer to "Authoritarian" every day!
Was his teacher Hugo Chavez or something? Mao? Maybe Hu Jintao? Or even Kim-Jong-Il?

An internet filter? 0_0 Jesus balls of fire! That guy is moving Australia closer to "Authoritarian" every day! Was his teacher Hugo Chavez or something? Mao? Maybe Hu Jintao? Or even Kim-Jong-Il? Nope, he's just doing it for the reason a lot of poiticians do anything; to keep himself in power. He's playing the "Child Porn" card to death at every turn, acusing anyone who disagrees with his plan as someone who supports child abuse (ironically, this included (inadvertantly) Taskforce Argos, the Federal Police taskforce who track and aprehend paedophiles, who also oppose the filter on the grounds it'll push offenders onto peer-to-peer networks and generally make their job a lot harder) and getting the support of the Australian Christian Lobby, Family First and Scientology so they can get chummy to make the filter work in their favour. The more irrational see Conroy as some sorta Orwellian, but really he's just looking to justify his position with a $41 million red herring and he doesn't much care what happens to the internet.

I try to live off of the grid. All I need is a Klasnikov and I'm set for a zombie apocalypse.
Seriously: a zombie apocalypse will be required if we're to finally band together and forget about child porn and animal abuse and PETA and soccer moms that don't do tripe even in positions of power, and random raging because a TV show based on "never ever allowing itself to be taken seriously" decided to make fun of Down Syndrome.
You know, I'm pretty sure this kind of insanity has been portrayed in a Philip K. Dick book that I haven't read yet.
Although that place really looks nice- HOLY PISS LOOK AT ALL THOSE KNIVES! EEEEEE!!!!

I ask myself the same thing, but then I think, "That's Jakob just being Jakob..."

Jakob, +1. But I wanna nuclear apocalypse, then go insane and just going around and drinking tea. Romantically apocalyptic.
BTW, it's Kalashnikov, not Klasnikov.
