So, I'm curious to find out what kind of music you guys like. I'm not sure I have a favorite genre, but my favorite artist is Emilie Autumn. Any plague rats/muffins here? I also love Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Evanescence, P!nk, Alanis Morissette and a bunch of other artists. I like a few mainstream songs, not a whole lot. I used to be a huge, huge fan of Taylor Swift, but not so much as of late.
Also, this is my favorite song in the entire world. To me, it's just the perfect song. I know I sound like a fangirl (because I am), but I don't care. I think the song is just that beautiful and deserves it (so there ;P):
What are you guys' favorite music/artists/songs?
Also, one rule: absolutely NO criticising others' tastes. If you don't like a particular type of music, just say it isn't your cupof tea and move on. There is no need to insult anyone, whether musicianor fellow Tremortonian.

My favorite artist is without a doubt Akira Ifukube. Kinda unfortunate considering he passed away in 2006.
However, I enjoy a little bit of everything, from rap to an orchestra
But what's most important to me in music is the ability to tell a story, a general story that can be applicable in many ways. I don't really like it when someone makes a soundtrack based on footage. If you ask me, it works MUCH better when the soundtrack is done before the footage is recorded or the animation is animated. (REDUNDANCY!!!) That way the finished product will not only look better, but the thing as a whole will be more cost-effective.

^Easy there...
I really like metal. I even play in a band doing electric guitar and vocals.
The genre is very popular, and a worldwide endeavor. No guarantee my band would go anywhere, but when I go up on stage, I could wear the "System Operator" with the MLaaTR logo to show how much I like the show. It'll give the show some exposure, as the audience would want to know what it is.
As for what I like to listen to, it's anything that features an electric guitar. For a better simplification on it, as in bands, my OC likes Fear Factory, Hatebreed, Pantera, and Mastodon. Me personally? Death, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Dethklok, Disturbed, Atheist, Metallica, Slayer, Testament, System of a Down, and the above mentioned.
I have almost 300 albums of that genre of music, and it keeps growing. I'll never stop, as my musical knowledge needs to expand as a musician, and collecting these albums contributes to it.
