My wife, Jenny, made a manga. She spent weeks working on it. Check it out: link Cover Art:

Some advice, make a folder organizing oldest to newest for the pages. This feels like Shonen Run manga. I do not like that stuff. Most people get four pages to form an opinion on a comic. It feels too slow. Japanese customs have it more hesitant but it is slow not much energy. The artwork is average at best and is forgettable. This girl is American so lets see some more reflection of it. She is well aware of the tropes. She should know that it was a business of showing good food to be professional. We do not have much information about her in the first few pages other then cute guy hitting on her. I am not interested, sorry.

Swoop, have you read any manga lately? If you can set things up within and eight-page chapter, that's considered pretty fast-paced. Compare that to, say, the entire volume it takes for Tsubasa Chronicle to get started, or the entire Shounen Jump library.
Secondly, this is a slice-of-life manga, and those relish not in fast-pacing but enjoying the moment. There are dozens of moments like that in, say, Azumanga Daioh. In these long-drawn moments nothing is said, nothing develops, just taking in the beauty of something normally mundane. Granted, it's not really captured here considering how fast-paced it is compared to even action-oriented manga, but my point is that it's not a very valid critique to say that a slice-of-life manga is too slow, especially one as fast as this one.
Finally, the lead's name is revealed to be 100% Japanese (Miyako), meaning that while she might have American or African ancestry, she was born and raised in Japanese society.
While I have my own criticisms on this, I don't think you're giving it a fair chance, Swoop.

And that is… I may be rash but at least I stepped in and gave advice to organize it. By the way one of the pages is misnumbered page 4 of 18.

I got to see this on Deviant Art too, and I must say, it is actually rather good. I liked it.
