"Oh yeah," Gene says. "I think I saw her on the roster. Ayame, right? I'll try not to go easy on her. Mu-hu-wa-ha-ha-ha."

Champ laughed. "Don't underestimate her," He said, "She's pretty smart, but i guess we'll have to wait and see." He turned, looking over the students. "It's pretty amazing what Dr.Wakeman's done here," He said, "I mean, these kids are all so spectacular." A wicked grin spread across his face. "I can't wait to test all of their abilities in the exams," He said with mock cruelty.

"Yeah. It's gonna be an interesting day." Came Alex's voice from the unknown. "Using camo, by the way. Throws 'em off for a bit. Seemed to work well on you, too. " Alex said to Gene, grinning.
******** "Well, apparently he's my cousin once removed or something like that. He's my only relative in the vicinity of Tremorton. Gotta say, I'm surprised he's teaching here.....my Dad never mentioned him having any special abilities or anything....of course, he apparently went missing for a while. Kinda weird. But it looks like he knows your Dad already." Thomas replied, gesturing toward the group.

"Huh, I wonder where dad knows him from," Ayame said, "He doesn't seem very....heroic, to say the least." *** "It is very effective, but do you really think it's necessary," Champ said to Alex, "I mean, I think we might as well be straightforward with them."

"What, and miss the chance to mess with their heads a bit? I'll be myself after today, but for now, don't deny me my fun." Alex said, still wearing that mischievous grin.
************
"Well, I guess he would have to have been involved in some kind of vigilante work to get in here in the first place. Who knows? Maybe we'll find out soon." Thomas told her.

((OOC:Alright, for the sake of kinetic energy I'm going to move to opening ceremonies, all new students will be revealed during homerooms, and we'll take a break to let everyone get introduced, k?)) The students finished settling in, and the lights went down. Ayame drew her eyes to the stage, where a spotlight focused on an empty mic stand. From back stage a woman stepped forward, her white hair lacking any real form of organization, her yellow lab coat reflecting the bright light. Nora Wakeman stood before the students. "Good morning students," She said with a grin, "Welcome to your first day at the Wakeman academy." There was a murmur from the students, the excitement they had was clearly starting to get to them. Nora cleared her throat, bringing attention back to the stage. "You are here because each of you has the potential to be more than the average person, each of you has the potential to be a hero," She said, "Our hope is that this academy will give you the abilities to do just that." She turned to the teachers. "Of course, this wouldn't be possible without the staff," She said, "You will come to know them well." She turned back to the crowd. "I expect nothing short of greatness from you," She said, "Now, if any of the staff would like to speak..." ((OOC:If no one wants to speak I'll just mod this post to send us to homerooms, just let me know))

--- 5 hours prior
"Well this is an interesting predicament," KPG said, "A school dedicated to above-average and even supernatural characters."
"And I'm going to be working there as a janitor and security official," Jakob replied.
"Would be good to develop your mind, especially around the next generation, seeing as you're going to be able to last far longer than humans like myself."
"Why don't you try teaching there?" Jakob laughed.
KPG knew Jakob was joking. Unless KPG wanted to be fully concealed in his armor day by day, he'd then have to take even more measures to make sure he remains unknown to everyone, including co-workers. And the last thing a school would want is an alienated character.
"So you're going to be going to the school?" KPG asked.
"Yeah. Gives you time alone at the house. I also bought some green onion cakes to survive you the week."
"You didn't really need to."
"Here's the catch. They're not the restaurant kind. I found some pre-made food store, and it had a surplus of them. You just need to cook them yourself."
KPG drooled, then wiped it off of his sleeve.
"Right, now go and do what you need to do."
Jakob acknowledged the order and left.
--- Present Time
Jakob stood ramrod straight amongst the other staff members. He was on the far stage left. His hat, coat, and trousers were cleaned. His weapon systems remained hidden, but he still had his sleeves rolled-up. It was easily assumed that he wanted to show the crowd of children and not-quite children that he was metal-clad.
He had recently arrived, and he barely knew any of them. He only met the one in spikey hair and bandana once. He barely remembered the name, however.
Maybe once the staff meet at the lounge for beverages and lunch, he'll introduce himself fully with the rest.
His eyes behind his single-sided glass visor darted across the auditorium. He stood without so much of a movement otherwise.
What was this feeling called? Nervousness?

"You look a little tense, Jakob." muttered a familiar voice from an unfamiliar face. "So, what did you get chosen for? Gym class? Psychology?"

Jakob remembered the voice, despite not knowing the face.
"Janitorial duties and security. Apparently there are already staff members for those other two."

"Huh. I would have pegged you for one of those two." Alex said, absentmindedly looking through the kids in the audience.
"Hang on a second. I'll be right back." He muttered, and an image of his human self stayed behind, unnaturally still (he had set up small projector to cast the image on stage, in the even he wasn't interested in speaking, or just got plain bored listening to others).
************* "Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Not everybody here would have started out a hero. Guess we'll find out his story eventually."
Thomas had summoned a small orb of light when the lights had been dimmed. It had taken him a while to find the spell, but now he was able to read in peace. He knew that Professor Wakeman was supposed to be some amazing scientist in robotics, but he didn't really care.
Some kid poked him from his left.
He looked over to see some robot, who almost looked like Jenny Wakeman, A.K.A. XJ-9, who also appeared to be on the staff.
He appeared to also have been designed as a teenager, probably not much older than himself.
"Um....hi. What's up?" He asked the newcomer.
"Not much. Just saw the stuff you did, and wanted to introduce myself. For now, you can call me 13." he said vaguely, with a slight smile.
"Well, then you can call me Thomas, or Tom, I guess. Most people do that after a while anyway." he replied, slightly thrown off by the strangeness of this new arrival.
They both looked on at the stage for a moment, as Professor Wakeman was finishing her opening lines.
"Anyway, I gotta go, but I guess I'll see you around." 13 said, dissapearing.
**************
Alex's human disguise showed life again.
"OK, I'm back. Anything interesting happen while I was gone?" He asked Jakob, before realizing he had been heard by most of the people nearby (including some audience members), as Professor Wakeman had just called on teachers to speak, and was now receiving stares, some with humor, some with embarrassment.
"Ah, well, I guess I'm up." He said, looking like he was holding back a large amount of laughter.
"All right. First of all, my name is Alex Johnson, and I teach the technology classes. I hope to impart on you all a greater understanding of the field, especially as it is becoming more and more part of everyday life. I would also like to remind you that it is in this field of study that Professor Wakeman chose to dedicate her life to, and as such, it is a great honor to be given the opportunity to educate the next generation in this most important science, as well as the art, of robotics and programming."
He then stepped back into line with the other teachers, as awkward applause was heard scattered throughout the room. Alex was even closer to laughing now, and looked like it. He obviously didn't care what they thought of him. They would know not to underestimate him soon enough.

Jakob looked to his right. All of the staff members, including the unfamiliar look who bore the voice and personality of 13, were all looking in his direction.
He then looked to his left to see no one there. Jakob silently walked up to the podium. His armored boots seemed amplified as they stepped across the stage.
"Name's Jakob. I'm like The SuperIntendant. Keep it clean."
"SuperIntendant?" The Wakeman doctor asked.
"It's an inside joke. I'm sure a number of you would get it. Anyway, I try to keep it clean. Whatever "it" is, it can be anything from the floors, ceilings, and walls of hallways and classrooms, all the way to the attitudes of students. I, like the rest of us, wish to make this place a pleasant experience."
He could tell that the student body seemed a little unnerved by Jakob's look, despite his clean and tidy attire. Maybe it was the mask.
It was times like these that he wished for KPG to be there.

Gene steps to the mic next. "Hi, kids. I'm Gene Wright. I'm a bioengineer, which means everything these two do with metal and silicon," he says, gesturing to Wakeman and Johnson, "I do... with flesh. It's a bit more complex than their work, but it's a lot easier to integrate into natural organisms. In fact, my own heroic powers come from a bioengineered virus." To emphasize the point, he starts hovering a few inches above the ground.
"Sadly, I won't be teaching you my craft here, since it requires too much knowledge of other fields like chemistry and physics. Instead, I'll be running the plain old biology class, to give you guys a feel for how living things work in nature, before people like me come along and start fiddling with 'em. It'll be a challenging course, but I'll be with you every step of the way if you need help, and by the end you'll know more about how life works than... well, than you do now at any rate. And who knows? Maybe you'll have fun too."
