The chapters of this story will be short as well as few in number, and will for the most part be made up as I go along. The main plot involves the conflict between the two forms of Alex Johnson and the one who ultimately controls the corrupted Alex's actions.
This takes place after the events of the Revenge of a Teenage Robot Story Arc, created by Champ.
PROLOGUE
The sun shone brightly on the town of Tremorton, unusually warm for late Autumn.
Birds could be seen flying South for the duration of the coming winter, and the leaves on almost every tree visible were beginning to turn yellow, while still hanging onto their respective branches, as if attempting to escape the death that the ground represented for them, both symbolically and in the literal sense.
Everyone knew that it was the changing seasons that caused these small events to occur. Most people would take no notice at all.
Alex knew this too....but in the back of his mind, he couldn't help but feel that it could also be attributed to something else.
In his view, the birds and the leaves were attempting to keep themselves safe.
From what, nobody knew.
He watched, and waited...........
**********************
"Alright, men. You have your assignments. I have been assigned as your commanding officer for the duration, therefore you will obey every command without question or be treated like our target. Do I make myself clear?"
"SIR YES SIR!"
"Good. We begin the attack tomorrow at oh-two-hundred. As you were."
Alex marched off. He had been glad for the repairs, as well as the 'chip' he had received. It kept him in balance. He was grateful at least for that.
He had been given command of some of the best soldier, as well, and his unit had been christened "Alpha-Squad 13."
He wasn't sure why his former self was the first designated target, but his mission was clear.
Intimidation.
Isolation.
.....Termination.

CHAPTER ONE
A school day like any other had come and gone, and the students swarmed out of Tremorton High to be greeted by an unusually cloudy afternoon.
Alex began walking toward home. He wasn't noticed as much anymore, which was mostly his own doing; he didn't have any need to be noticed.
As he reached his door, he noticed an envelope on his front walkway. He picked it up and looked closely, but there were no fingerprints on it. He opened it despite that strange fact. It was a letter advising him to show up at Zero's Memorial statue at 1:30 AM the next day, or else Tremorton would be leveled.
He didn't know who had sent it, or why, but he knew it was anything but an empty threat. The letter was a promise.
He had no choice but to prepare himself for anything.
****************
"All weapons accounted for sir!" A soldier barked at Alex from about ten feet away. He obviously scared them, which was alright by him; fear bred obedience in a soldier.
"Is my external armor prepared?" He asked, alarmingly calm.
"Yes sir!"
"Good. Dismissed."
He smiled at the thought of his upcoming victory against his alter-ego....and laughed.
Hearing the laugh, all nearby personnel on the ship couldn't help but shudder.

CHAPTER TWO
His weapons were as good as they could be. He would be ready to face his other self when the time came....he knew that for a fact.
Alex hadn't told anybody else about the situation, nor did he plan to. He would have to do this alone.
However, that wouldn't stop him from making plans in case he failed.
He left a letter explaining things (as well as serving as an apology) wedged in Jenny's window.
He left a prerecorded message set to transmit the next day to let the others know he was probably dead.
He had done all he could think of doing, and so he waited, making sure he had his battery power at max by the time the 'meeting' occured.
********************
The troops were sleeping, but would be awake soon. The sun had yet to set, but they needed time to be as prepared as possible.
With his external power-armor standing by, he knew he could take his 'normal' half by himself.
He just wanted to watch him suffer. He only really needed to make the killing blow, anyway.
His communicator crackled to life.
"Are you prepared to end it once and for all?" A voice asked him, full of authority but also with calm confidence, and thick with determination.
"Yes. I hope you'll be watching. It will be very entertaining."
"I'm sure it will be, but you know I'm always watching."
"Of course." Alex replied.
"How are you holding up today, by the way?"
"Just fine. Not sure how I functioned without the extra controller."
"Good. Don't disappoint me."
The signal was cut.

CHAPTER 3
Near the statue, Alex stands, looking into the darkness characteristic of the earliest hours of the morning. He waits patiently, as he knows that what is about to happen may determine more fates than just his own.
He spots movement. Human soldiers moving into position among the nearby trees, guns at the ready, but it is obvious to him that they will not be taking any offensive action toward him, at least not yet. They are there to be given a show, whether they know it or not.
The ground trembles slightly, as a robotic exoskeleton emerges from cover. About six and a half feet tall and wider around than a considerably large hominid, it contains his former self, merely the controller for the outer shell at that moment.
Obviously containing an armory's worth of weapons, he lumbers forward, until he is approximately 2 feet away, looking down on Alex's second half.
"You know why I'm here." He states bluntly.
"To end me? To show these soldiers what you're capable of? How can you destroy me when you can't even come to grips with what I am?" Alex responds.
"Then tell me, what am I?" The giant replies, slightly angered at this point.
"You are the refuse of your former self. You took your humanity for granted, leaving it behind in favor of the machine, not even worthy of being called an AI, just....a machine. Constantly working to better yourself, you became consumed......that's what you are. Knowing that, you know what I am."
"Yes. You're the fail-safe copy should I become corrupted. You're what I was to begin with, and you would say you are without the taint." The original snarled.
"No, but that's what it is to be human. You live with it. In rejecting it, you became all you hated."
".....there's only one way to finish this, then." Sighed the face in the suit.
He released the catches, and the exoskeleton unfolded from around him. He fell forward, but landed on his feet.
"Let me at least make an effort, but when the time comes, make it quick." He said slowly, with regret in his voice. "I know it's my time to go....I just wish things had gone better."
"That's what everybody wishes." The new Alex replied, pulling one of his blades out. "Let's do this, before we attract attention from anybody nearby."
Both had blades at the ready.
The sprang off the ground, propelled into each others' range.
The original had his left arm sliced off in the initial exchange, while the True Alex was merely cut on his leg, though it was nothing more than cosmetic armor damage.
With one arm to defend himself, the first spun around and went on the offensive again.
The second turned slowly, blocked, then brought his second blade around to slice off a leg.
Falling on his side, the original looked up, brought his arm up in a rifle transformation and fired.
Alex dodged to the side.
"Goodbye, old me. I wish I'd known you better."
A stab through the head, cutting off all logic circuits, was the final blow.
Projecting a shield around the shattered remains, Alex compressed the body into a perfect sphere, heated into a single substance....silver metal, with a light blue glow and streaks of orange.
He held it in his palm for a moment, then set it at the base of Zero's statue.
"Well?" He called out into the trees. "What are you waiting for? Aren't you going to fight me?"
The soldiers ran, many of them calling for evac. They knew they would fail.
********************
"Sir, we failed......yes sir...understood, we will not begin any further operations without your explicit command, sir.......yes sir.....thank you sir......."
The soldier was shaken. He wanted to get rid of anything pinning this to him. Burns had been found on the site, and some people had gotten nosy.
He wanted to leave, but he knew that Star Force would kill him for treason.....and leave no trace behind.

EPILOGUE
After returning to the scene to dispose of the robotic shell. However, he was too late, and photos had been released. Nobody knew what to make of them, and after a few days, it didn't matter anymore.
Monday arrived as usual, and Alex saw the usual troop of teens off to Tremorton High....except Jane, who usually walked with Jessie. He expected Jessie might not show, but not Jane.....
It didn't matter though. He couldn't butt into their personal bussiness.
....and thus life settled back into it's abnormal rhythms for the teenage robot......

NOTES:
-This story ends on the same day that Jane begins to spy on Dr. Nike (reffering to Zero's Fic, Jessie Winkler: Requiem, in Chapter 3 if I'm not mistaken).
-The extra 'controller chip' that the original Alex mentions was essentially to numb his emotions, giving him more control of himself.
-Please excuse my vague descriptions and such.....this went through many revisions in my head, and due to the time it took, I decided just to get the basics down (mostly on the spot, as it so happened).
-This fic is in the commonly used canon/timeline with pretty much everything else..... if that weren't obvious already. <_<
-Sorry for using Star Force, hope nobody minds too much. <(^__^)'
