We've had several members here who are big sonic fans, but I don't think we've ever had an actual discussion about the series, so now we have this thread.

I love sonic, but not as much as I like Weegee.
My favorite characters are Cosmo, Galaxina, and Cream. I also like the Metarex, they were the most epic villans in the series.

My favorite games include the Death Egg saga(Sonic 2-Sonic and Knuckles) and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. I never really got into any of the next gen games, mostly due to poor control and distracting side abilities.
I am looking forward to Sonic the Hedgehog 4 though.

Cosmo, Galaxina, and the Metarex are not from the games, they're from the show Sonic X. Do you watch Sonic X. It's on saturdays on 4Kids TV. Oh, and here is a Sonic site worth checking out, the Tails and Cosmo Shrine. I am a member there, my name there is galaxina. www.soniclord.proboards.com/

I used to play the gamed a lot on the ol' Sega Mega Drive, all the way to Sonic and Knuckles. My bro was the better player though, he finished S&K once and we were like "w00t we beat a video game!!!".
I liked the animated series' better though, and the Archie Comics spin off (which is STILL going!). Liked SatAM better than AoStH, but I loled at the latter then and I still do now!

Jakob started off as a Sonic fan character. I evolved him into something more general, and useful anywhere.
As for Sonic himself, he's like a rock star. He starts off as something new, that everyone starts to enjoy. He starts with different experiments in his early stages, but eventually comes up with a good number of masterpieces (Sonic CD, Sonic 2, Sonic 3) that solidify his position as an icon.
In comes his managers and co-workers and the dudes whom work at the record companies (Sonic Team) whom try to get Sonic to try to do new things by sneaking cocaine or other crap into his drinks.
Needless to say, some all of the results have wound up not on-par with the rest of his masterpieces, or completely bogus.
Now is the time for Sonic to get out of his therapy sessions and see if the blue guy's completely clean. With Sonic 4, I'm wondering why Sonic Team is going the same way Capcom was going with its naming system.

Maybe its the new thing?
Anyways, always been neutral when it came to Sonic. Don't like it that much, but its alright. The Sega Genisis games where my childhood and never really cared for the 3-D ones.

Sonic 4 looks cool. I'll probably download it on wii ware.
Hard to say what my favorite Sonic game is though. Every Sonic game has it's moments and facepalms. So I don't really have a favorite Sonic game.

Does anyone here keep up with the comic series?

Just wanted to say that the best sonic game (IMO) was Adventure 2: Battle. Reason being, admittedly, the Chao garden(s). I loved those little blue guys! Also, the gameplay was somewhat good for a 3D Adventure/ Platformer. The old sonic games, it was just a bit difficult, but then, it can be argued that it took way more skill back then. So yeah, it was easy and infused with a dangerous level of cuteness. As for the comic series, I was unaware they still had that going on.

I don't keep up with it though.
I have a Dreamcast VMU and still have the old Adventure games. I play Chao Adventure every now and then. It's like an advanced tomagachi. A game shop in Chinatown still sells new Dreamcasts and other accessories.

Does anyone here keep up with the comic series? I do. Eggman had a mental break down and is an insane, babbling idiot. A new villian is currently taking lead.

I was wondering if anyone enjoys the Sonic TV show, Sonic X, that usually appears on saturdays on 4kids TV. I do, in fact, it is one of the main reasons I'm a Sonic fan.

Nah, I just couldn't get into it. I grew up watching Sonic SatAM.
