See a film, then come back here and review it for us. Fairly simple, and dont be afraid to double-up and write your take on a film already reviewed here, the more opinions the better. First up, The A-TeamI went into this film not knowing what to expect. I wasn't really a big fan of the original series, it was before my time, but what episodes I saw as repeats over the years seemed pretty cool. The previews all looks fairly exciting, and I feared that they'd done the usual thing and put all the best bits and funniest lines into the trailers. I was happily mistaken. The A-Team is a great knockabout film, and for once the bits in the trailer were just teasers for even MORE insane and funny gear! Plot-wise it's not gonna win any awards for originality, but it's solid and not boring. And thats a good description for this film, 'not boring'. You know how in the cinemas you wait for a boring bit in the film so you can run to the toilets and not miss anything? There was not bit like that for me. The whole film had me glued to the screen, not since 2008s Death Race remake has a film been like that for me. All in all, good film, can't really compare it to the original because I don't think of myself as a big enough fan to make a fair asessment, but for those of us who love a bit of mindless action and laughs and all we know of the A Team was that Mr T was in it, it's a good film. I give it 4 Dolph Lundgrens out of 5

Oh, hey! Perfect timing. Here's my "The Last Airbender" review. I've been thinking, after talking with my friends (who think it was great!) and Avatar fans (who think it SUCKED), about how this movie turned out. Here's my opinions: the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly. Enjoy!^^ The Good: ~ Noah Ringer and Dev Patel. Noah played Aang as a kid, which is how he SHOULD be played. More casting directors should take a nod to internet casting. Dev made me LIKE Zuko for a change. ~ Music. Now, the music was no Track Team music, but it was still very good. ~ Special Effects, especially the water. It made you want to dive into a pool during the movie! ~ This movie really sucks you in. I honestly forgot some of the mispronunciations since I was so into the world! The Bad: ~ A lot of important stories cut. Such as Bumi, Jet, the KYOSHI WARRIORS. Also, what the hell happened with Yue being engaged?!? And Pakku refusing to teach Katara waterbending because she was female?!? The ONLY reason I'm letting this go is because of time restrictions. ~ Story was all mixed up. Things that were happening in the first few episodes happened later in the movie, and Aang's random Spirit World trips were just... augh my head hurts. ~ Comedy is a must. Especially for Sokka; he was REALLY stiff. Stiff works for Zuko, NOT for Sokka. ~ Zhao. I didn't know WHAT was up with him. He needed to be SO much more fierce than he was. He acting like he was playing with Aang, when the character uses brute force to get his points across. ~ 3-D was utter failure. I felt like the movie was 2-D at some points. ~ Felt like they were just trying to be another action movie at times. Weren't focused on the plot as much as they needed to be. The just plain UGLY: ~ Changes in pronunciation. This was BY FAR the most annoying part of the movie. Ong instead of Aang, Soahka instead of Sokka, Eeroh instead of Iroh, Ahvatar instead of Avatar (um... WHAT?!? Even James Cameron could get this right) ... just to name a few. Oh, and plain name CHANGES. Such as "Grandma" instead of "Gran-Gran". I kept having to correct them throughout the movie, instead of actually ENJOYING it. ~ Inconsistencies with the show. No, Princess Yue's father DID NOT die; his name is Cheif Arnook and he is still very much alive. Also, that is NOT a dragon spirit that Aang talks to; it's Koh the Face Stealer. Aang is NOT supposed to give the speech to the earthbenders; that is a Katara speech. Sokka does not knock at the ice with his boomerang to make the iceberg appear; Katara's waterbending (from rage) makes it appear. Sozin's Comet in 3 YEARS?!? NO! By the end of the summer. (Okay, this one I can understand, since it will be at least three years before all of the films are finished. But still. Totally unneeded.) These seriously made me want to punch something. ~ BOTH of these above (and some in the bad section as well) could have been easily solved if Mike & Brian were an active part of this movie's creative them. Turns out they hate the movie. Wonder why? Final Thoughts: Despite all the negatives I have about this movie, it is still a VERY good movie. It could have been a lot worse, and I was worried that it would be (emo Aang, anyone?). However, if the movie series keeps going in this direction, it will NEVER be as good as the TV series, and will be a disappointment to "Avatards" everywhere. If working on this movie taught the production team anything (ESPECIALLY you, M. Night), it's that your series will never be as good as the original if you don't get the creator's input. It's obvious that you guys were trying to go your own way with the series, but all that does is turn people that are already fans away. It says "Hey, we're better than the show. Deal with it." Talk to, listen to, and RESPECT Mike & Bryan, if you (and the movie series) knows what's good for you. We don't want to see Toph become "Tof", now do we? And if this movie brings in more fans, great! But PLEASE turn them to the ORIGINAL series as well, the one we all know and love. Where Aang is NOT "Ong". Rating: *** out of ***** stars. Very good movie, but its inconsistencies with the show made me rate it lower than it truly should be.

Toy Story 3-
So it comes down to this... for 11 years we've waited for this movie.... You know what came to my attention? If you were a little kid when the first movie was released, that would place you around Andy's age, they couldn't have planned that better if they tried. I mean, these characters, Buzz, Woody and the gang have grown up with most all of us. Not only did you watch these characters grow and expand in each film, but you, yourself as the viewer, grow and expand with these characters. It is safe to say that the buttoner of the Toy Story Trilogy, was the best way to end any series of movies.
In the film, incase you were un aware, Andy is now 17 and is leaving to college. What remains of his toys are now questioning what's left for them. A mix up with boxing lands them in a daycare center. To the toys it seems like a paradise, an everlasting life where they get to be played with by loving children everyday of their life. In reality its more of a living hell and they have to find a way out of their prediciment.
As the formula of the previous films have shown, its all about mortality, and since the first two films were staring down the barel of a gun loaded with the "Everything is Finite" bullet, only looking to the future of when the gun of finitiy fires. But with things coming to a close, they had nothing left to do but pull the trigger. And pull it they did, in a wave of emotional perspectives that leaves you belly laughing one moment and hugging your knees crying and praying to a god you don't beleive in for the course of things to change the next. The symbolic interpretations of life, death, rebith, heaven, and even the dark and extremely terrifying for youngesters interpretation of hell, are scattered through out the film and displayed in fascinating, original and extremely entertaining ways.
Seriously guys, I haven't been this gitty DURING a movie since I watched Inglourious Basterds, which I am quick to remind everyone is the #1 greatest movie of all time. The old cast returned for a well performed final round, and brought in some increadibly talented actors from across the widespan of the film industry to play even some minor roles which are pulled off in some of the funniest (in the case of Micheal Keaton and Jodi Benson as Ken and Barbie, which is note worth satire and cliche mockery in its own right) and convincingly villanous ways.(In the case of Ned Beatty as his exemplary Lotso Huggin' Bear)
Honestly, best movie of the summer, and probably of the year. A guarenteed must see. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be depressed, and miraculously you WILL leave with one of the most satisfied smiles on your face.
Five out of Five.

Jessie, about all the changes. M. Night Shanamanamana tonight looked and said "Hey, these are hindu names!" In other words, all the changes he made were "personal" changes. I always thought the show was inspired by East Asian culture, and not Hindu culture on its own...

I understand that (more than most fans, ha! XD). The thing is though, if you're going to make you're own project that is based off of something else, you don't make something that's contradicting to the original. That makes it offensive to the original fanbase.

If you're going to do what M Night Shamalamlanmanaland did and make something that is your own off of someone elses work, make sure you cater to the fanbase some and not just yourself. JJ Abrams did great with the new Star Trek, and it was nothing like the show, but somehow it still felt like a nostalgic look on the source material. Im working on a movie script for MLaaTR (Originally for seriously submiting it and trying to get it produced, but now its for recreation and personal reasons. ;D) And I was deviating from certain important points but at the same time kept the chemistry of characters, character personallities and basic plot lines the same. I was giving an unoriginal source an orginal re-do ^-^
In short, there's a way to remake something.

I don't know why you liked this movie, but...whatever. To each their own. I'm sure Dragonball: Evolution has its fans as well. And by the way, Toph is actually pronounced "Tof" in the series. Just saying.

I can't believe I'm going to mention this movie on this site...but this movie is the new Dragonball: Evolution. If Rotten Tomatoes is to be believed, it's even worse than that. Compare the numbers: Dragonball: Evolution: 13% approval, average rating 3.1/10The Last Airbender: 8% approval, average rating 2.8/10Now then, speaking as someone who hasn't seen either the cartoon or the movie, allow me to weigh in on the pronunciation issue. It seems the problem is twofold: Mike and Bryan's idiomatic romanizations of the names, and M. Night's use of the English spellings as authoritative. To give an example of the first problem: Toph Bei Fong's name is given in Chinese characters as Tuofu Beifang (using the now-standard pinyin romanization). But if they spelled it that way in the credits, people might expect her last name to be pronounced Bay-FAYNG, as in an animal tooth, rather than Bay-FAHNG. So they tweaked the spelling for American audiences. To give an example of the second problem: Iroh. Period. In Chinese, his name is Ailuo, which corresponds to the pronunciation AI-roh heard in the series. So when M. Night changed it to EE-roh, he did so despite both audio and visual evidence from the show. His version of the name would have been rendered as Yiluo in Chinese, requiring a different character for the first syllable. The better solution would have been for Shyamalan to keep the pronunciations from the show and just change the spellings seen in the credits and promotional material. There would have been just as much fan rage, obviously, but at least the movie itself would have been more watchable.

Okay... I'm going to be quick cause this thread is starting to piss me off. No really... its bugging me.
I'm going to open my case with a little novel known as Timeline... I love this book. Its seriously one of my favorites, right below Watchmen. I heard they made a movie, I damn near pissed myself.... can you guess what happens? IT SUCKED! It made me want to puke up half of my internal organs, worse than Transformers TERRIBLE. EVERYTHING changed. Even the story. But looking at it from someone who HADN'T read the book, it'd be a decent film, not great but decent.
Last Air Bender, standing by itself is NOT all that bad. Really. The show was good but its NOTHING like the movie... thats ALWAYS the way films will be when they're based off of something. M Night is NOT wrong for doing anything he did. Cause the moment the creators signed creative rights they lost their right to complain. Why do you think Jonah Vasquez has such a tight grip on Invader Zim? M. Knight/Night is NOT appealing to fans he's appealing to his own creative mind and the general public.
Ben Yahtzee Croshaw said it best "Why would you do anything to please the fans? Im a fan and I've spent the last 5 minutes complaining. Fans are whiney complaining dip-sh*ts who are never EVER happy with any concsession you make. The sooner you shut out their shrill tremulous voices the better."
Truer words were never spoken. With that being said, don't be surprised if in movies based on something you're a fan of sucks, because its a pattern. Many people like Transformers, people are going to love that god awful smurfs movie that's coming out and they are in no way wrong. What is wrong is b*tching about something because of a few minor changes. And if in the future a MLaaTR movie is made, don't be surprised if you hate it.
....so much for quick....

Ahh! Sorry guys, didn't mean to bring a fight in here! In other words... (SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS...) I saw TS3 the other day, and it is a MUST-SEE! Not my favorite movie, but still a 5 star that everyone will enjoy. Oh, and I didn't cry. Surprising, right? I almost did though. Though it DID give me a new pairing to fangirl over... Jessie x Buzz. SO cute!!! ^^

Oh, and I didn't cry. Surprising, right? [\quote] Yes... because I did... an now I should go put on a nice sundress, or maybe sit in front of the TV and watch life time while eating bon-bons. Then perhaps I'll take a scented bath to wash my MASSIVE vagina... I feel severly weak right now... i need to go eat some Slim Jims and watch a Bruce Willis marathon... (In all seriousness, I WILL post Surogates soon... just not tonight... maybe tommorow...)
