Chronicle is a documentary type movie like Cloverfield.
Three teenagers make a mysterious discovery in a cave that results in them attaining telekinetic powers. Things are fun until one of them goes renegade.
Anyone see this movie yet? Any thoughts? I thought it was very good.

I saw it, and I have to say it was definitely a good watch. You've heard of Push and Jump, right? Imagine that done RIGHT, in the Camera-POV genre. Special effects are great, camreawork is revolutionary even to the genre, and though you might be able to predict what happens in the movie, the impact of when it happens is no less powerful.
I give it 9.5 Impossible psychic trick out of 10.
Edit: Not all of the special effects are perfect, upon review. The talent show being a burning example. You can very easily see what's real and what isn't.

I watched it and it was ok. The cinematics were great but felt the character turning evil was forced and could have done it more subtle.

I watched it and it was ok. The cinematics were great but felt the character turning evil was forced and could have done it more subtle. Bear in mind, the character turning evil was literally the plot. If anything, it reminded me of the notion of the best laid plans of mice and men. It was also about the so-called "jerk-ass potential of teenagers" as also explored in its spiritual predecessor, Carrie. As such, to make it subtle would cause a lesser-minded audience to wonder what the movie was even about on the surface.

It is not the character roster that I am complaining it is the villain character development. Perhaps I should put in mind that he is not all there and cannot think logically. He has mind set of those with power make the rules. Carrie is a girl that thinks herself as monster and thinks no one loves her. She had neighborhood that harasses her and any authority figures neglect her and let those who do evil deeds go unpunished. It did not help that her mother is religious nut job. Perhaps they went little bit overkill of demonizing everyone to show she is a victim but it going for the Frankenstein effect and they were experimenting. I read in wiki that she survived and had a daughter later on.
