ZERO: Hm, you look like you're going through something similar. Maybe we can help each other out...

Amanda looked up. "Help each other out?" she repeated. "H--How so?"

ZERO: Valentine's Day is coming. Maybe I can enroll in your school, and you can help me find this girl. And I in turn can get you close to whatever guy it is your thinking about.

Amanda gulped. "Errgh, well, um...Okay, I guess--I guess that might work."

Jakob left the groaning biker with a Skyway Patrol officer, who didn't seem sure whether to question Jakob or to simply put away the biker, who was apparently a wanted man. Jakob was already gone, no matter what he decided to do.
"Two in one day. Four more and I have a new record," Jakob muttered to himself, walking towards downtown. He kept an eye out for more trouble.

ZERO: Hey, don't be nervous! I'm pretty sure it can work out! I'll see you in the morning!

Amanda shrugged and stood up. "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow I guess. See ya later?"

Zero flies off, while Amanda still seems unsure about the idea.
Next morning, Amanda is waiting in front of the school...

Alex, not having to sleep, had wandered aimlessly in the night. He ended up shutting down behind some of the pillars of the high school. He started up just as zero flies up to greet Amanda...and decides to just wait and watch, as he had never seen Zero before. He knew Amanda, but only as an acquaintance, and it would be weird to be seen popping up from behind random spots.
He would wait to see if the newcomer was friendly or hostile, and then take a roundabout route so as to seem casual afterward.

Amanda looked around from her spot at the front steps of the school, occasionally writing down something in her journal, or drawing in it, then she'd glance up to see if Zero was there yet.

Unfortunately, Jakob didn't beat his record. Green onion cakes were collected, and KPG continued work in the lab. Jakob didn't know what KPG was working on now, but he didn't really mind.
Next day, Jakob went out again, like he usually did. It was an hour before school typically started, so there were chances of teenagers hanging around.
He came to Mezmer's again, out of the chance thought that there may be another problem that he could remove. There was none though. But the old man at the counter spotted Jakob and waved in a way that meant "Thanks". Jakob simply nodded his acknowledgment as he sat at the counter.
"What can I get you?" The manager asked.
"I'll think of something," Jakob replied as he scanned the hanging menu sign above the counter. "No one working today?"
"School's about to start." the man replied.
"No full-time workers?"
"I don't mind it, actually."
Jakob nodded, then said "I'll take a salad wrap."
"Oil on the side?" he asked.
"No thanks." Jakob replied. The manager gave him an odd look.
"I'm not like other robots," Jakob added.
The manager nodded, and got to work on making a salad wrap. Jakob looked around to see it entirely empty.
"I'm assuming your only business is teenagers?"
"Unfortunately."
"How so?"
"They tend to get loud and immature, and sometimes certain ones get the place destroyed."
Jakob knew the manager was referring to the XJ-9. It's been two months since he and her so much as thought about each other, let alone spoke. They were merely comrades, and the XJ-9 wouldn't be interested in someone like Jakob anyway.
... What the heck was I thinking just now? Jakob wondered. He shook the nonsense thought from his mind and concentrated on the salad wrap that lay in front of him, encased in a whole-wheat tortilla. Jakob picked up the sandwich as his muzzle plate separated into two, revealing what looks like a bearded human chin. His visor and forehead plating hid the rest of his head.
"I thought you were a robot," the manager said.
"I am. Like I said, I'm not like other robots. I'm no cyborg either." Jakob said, the revealed mouth moving with the speech, still with a metallic overtone.
"Then what's with the flesh?"
"It's modified kevlar. I don't know what he was thinking with the beard though."
The manager merely gave Jakob a weird look and walked to the other end of the counter, most likely to keep himself busy while keeping an eye on Jakob.
Jakob consumed the wrap, and left payment on the counter before leaving. He left a tip, like he usually did. Money was no object.

Zero arrives gently landing next to the columns. He sees Amanda at the steps and goes to her.
He's holding a composition notebook and a pen.
ZERO: Amanda!

ZERO: Couldn't really make sense of the "courtship" information I looked over. I'm starting to have second thoughts.
The school bell rings, but Zero is hesitant.

Amanda's head turned to the building as the bell rang. "Well, yeah, it's all pretty confusing, to be honest, I'm not even sure how all this relationship stuff works." She ripped out a page of her journal and handed it to him. "Err, that's the information I've gathered about general relationship information," she said. "Anyway, I should probably get to class or something."
