Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is one of my most favorite cartoons and they are my favorite team of characters. I learn after time to appreciate or at least acknowledge the different versions of them. I feel it is too early to judge them so I have to wait a few episodes. I am ok with new style but one thing bothers me is when the turtles don’t show the iris during the action scenes but show them when they talk. It feels like their stunt devils are doing action parts. The buck teeth and freckles are a nice touch. They are starting out and Leonardo starting out leading, Michelangelo is not a party dude yet, but Donatello is still skilled in the tech and Raphael still rude. They have yet to know of pizza but they do watch TV, which is odd since I think there should be plenty commercials showing pizza in New York. They are train individually but not as a team. When I said they were starting out I mean from the very beginning. Splinter is similar from the 80s cartoon version which I am OK with it since there allot of changes from original source. This version also had tragic pass if stating that his original family was kill by the Shredder.

So yeah. I'm watching the new TMNT show, and I like what I see. At the same time, my weeaboo boner goes off at the distinctly anime vibe of the show, so expect some bias.
Speaking of which, yeah. The show seems to borrow some of its style from anime, such as facial expressions and the occasional use of Japanese that only weeaboos like me can understand. There are also brief references to Hannah Barbera and Star Trek, and even transformers at one point.
Though there are changes, they're done to enhance the story. For example, the glowing mutagen that changes our five favorite sewer-dwellers changes them based on the last creature they touched before being exposed. In the original show, Splinter has NO reason to be a giant rat. In the Nick version, he's originally human, and gets touched by a rat before being exposed, the four brothers being touched by the human Splinter. I also like how the brothers aren't identical, you can see their different builds when they line up side-by-side. (Raph has the girth, Don is skinny, Mickey has a gut, and Leo is balanced.) My personal favorite part is how they originally eat algae and worms from the sewer, later discovering pizza and thus explaining their addiction to it.(Seriously, you'd get sick of pizza if you were eating it your whole life. That first slice, though? HEAVENLY) I also like how April is also in her teen years, makes more sense when the furious four have to save her ass. (Or am I just being a sexist prick? Help me on that.)
Also, you thought Mickey's nunchucks were useless? What if one of them had a SCYTHE at the tip? Now if only Don's bowstaff was a spear.

Yes you are a bit of a prick, which I have to question your moral fiber. I will spare your scolding to get back on topic. The turtles save April since they do not have much people to trust. As for the weapons nunchucku are cool but impractical. Nunchucks are an improvised weapon since it was a farming tool before became a weapon. It is better than changing it to a grappling hook. No one buy that in the last seasons. As for bo staff it has proven to be useful weapon as it covers. They were going to make it a heliblade but it does not matter long weapon helps in either way and they don’t want to push for the first season. Perhaps they stick with the staff Donatello weapon known being broken.

I am just giving you the heads up of the series. Donatello’s staff has hidden heliblade in it. There was episode dedicated to his weapon so Agai your wish fulfillment has been made.

I was being a smartass which you did made set up but I should have been a better man debate you properly than using your words for an immature insult. I am sorry. The 80s turtles saved April because the thugs were in their territory. 2000 series mousers were attacking their home along with the original comics. They stay saving her in the 80s since there have only few friends they can trust along with need of social activity. Aprils stayed friends with them in the 80s since foot are hunting for her she needs help. That and even there knew that it was a routine job. In 2000 series she was in dept and and her smarts had help them allot she even took their training. I am also little bitter because that kind of thought made Venus have very little character and her being Mary Sue.

I took some long realization again and I looked back few episodes and looked at a few comics. Apparently has happens in any version. It is not new. I think with April 4 times Irma once and it was by a love potion. Furthermore, it happens more often in the original comics

Watched most of Nick's TMNT and I must say, we might be looking at the new Teen Titans. It's dark, gritty, and disgusting in all the right places and ways without losing its sense of humor, all the villains are well-developed and have unique motivations, and there are pop culture references everywhere without it consuming the narrative. I'd say this is damn-near perfect.

The turtles are tortoises. I need to look back how far that was.

I really love the new TMNT. If the 2003 series wasn't cool enough, this new one has certainly improved on it. I love how the characters and lore is so much more in-depth now, and the battles are so much more epic and brutal and such! If you ask me, best thing that Nick has going for them as of now.
Though recently, I did not like those new TMNT Team Up shorts on Nick, where they use Breadwinner-style animation and very unfunny jokes. I hope this TMNT Team Up thing isn't a permanent thing.
