Hey folks,
So as we prepare to welcome 2013 I feel like pointing out that as of next August MLAATR will officially be 10 years old. Seems like just yesterday it premiered, doesn't it? Anyway, in order to celebrate the show's big anniversary I'd like to come up with some special events throughout the year. First and foremost, I'd like to ask you guys for suggestions, so if you have any ideas for ways to celebrate 10 years of Jenny I'm all ears. As for myself, I'm sticking to what I know, which is fanfics and RPs, so here's just a few of the ideas I've had(though we likely won't even get close to working on all of them):
The Power of Ten-Likely to start around August, the(very rough) premise of this RP is that As Jenny enters what will be her last year at Tremorton High Doctor Wakeman finds herself proud of the young woman her robotic daughter has grown into. Wanting to give her the gift of freedom for graduation she secretly begins work on XJ-10, who she plans to use as the new Global Response Unit, allowing Jenny to have a normal life. Before long the new robot is unleashed on the world, and Jenny is given the life she always wanted, but something goes wrong, and XJ-10 turns on the people of Tremorton, forcing the heroes to find a way to stop her. Each will be presented with challenges along the way, and in the end the fate of Tremorton will rest on whether Jenny can give up her chance at a normal life to and become the hero she was always meant to be.
Cartoon Heroes Relaunch-It's not directly related to MLAATR, but I'd like to bring back Cartoon Heroes just to allow us to mix things up. I also plan to start from scratch since a lot of the older characters are gone, and because one of my own characters(Skyler) would be hard to just introduce out of the blue. Bringing back Heroes will also allow people to develop characters for another project I had in mind...
Legacy of a Teenage Robot-Over 20 years have passed since the end of MLAATR, and Tremorton is a different place. With the metahuman and robot populations skyrocketing supercrime is on the rise, but in the hour when they would need her most the people of Tremorton find that Jenny Wakeman is missing. With the community coming apart at the seams a new generation of heroes has to step forward and deal with everything from a virus plaguing the robot community to the place of metas in the community, all while determining in their own minds what makes someone a hero. I will freely admit that this idea was inspired by XJ-0's Teenage Robot Saga, and if he has plans for TRS I'll gladly put this idea on the backburner, but I'd like to do this simply because it lets us think about what effect our character's actions will have on the next generation, and gives us a chance to think about the legacies they'll leave behind as their careers as heroes come to an end. I don't know when I'll get to this particular project, but I'd really like a ton of user input into what the universe of this will be like.
Anyway, if you guys have any ideas for ways to celebrate the show's tenth birthday I'd be glad to hear them. It's a huge year for fans of MLAATR, and I hope to make it one of the best years this forum has ever had.
Happy New Year, guys. Let's make 2013 a year to remember.
