"No wonder," Jericho chimed, "You're up to thirty-nine, pretty amazing for your first time---Hold on, I need to take this. Talk to the technician at the crane if you have any problems."
Jericho switched channels on his comm-link.
"Talk to me."
"Sir, we've identified the enemy. It's an alien invasion fleet. The attacks on Cluster were a warning to us."
"Oh, goody... Are the maintenance and upgrades finished?"
"Not quite, sir, only Moguera is complete."
"That will have to do for now..."

Back at Skyway HQ the meeting had ended, all of the delegates now aware of the solemn task they had to pass on to their men. However, as the other delegates left, Amedes lingered, a thought having come to him. Hector had been his friend long enough to know when the General had something on his mind, and he turned to him, nodding.
"What is it, Amedes?" He asked.
"Sir, I had forgotten about it before, but while I know that G-Force has passed on giving us too many ships or mechs, they did have a proposal for a joint project that I think we should consider," He said.
"Go on," Hector said.
"It's called Project Ra," Amedes continued, "And while it's going to take a lot of resources, I've been assured that it's the best defense we could ever dream of having."
Hector frowned for a moment, before nodding.
"Alright," He said, "Send me everything we have on the project and have your Corporal tell them we're interested."
Amedes nodded, preparing to leave.
"And Amedes," Hector said, stopping him in his tracks, "Take care of that Mars kid. I'm not kidding about making her an officer, she has a lot of potential."
Amedes smiled, turning back to his old friend.
"I'm well aware, sir," He said.
Hector gave a small smile, nodding before his hologram vanished, leaving Amedes alone with the weight of the war to come looming over him. ***
Things could certainly be better for Blair. While she had already managed to destroy one drone, the others were strafing above and below her, and they were far too fast for her to get a bead on. She was in the middle of trying to come up with a plan when her comm-link crackled to life.
"Officer Mars," Came Amedes' voice, "I need to ask a favor."
"Sir, not to be rude," Blair said, dodging a shot from one of the drones, "But I'm kind of in the middle of something."
"Well, when you have a moment," Amedes said, "Tell Jericho we're interested in initiating Project Ra."
"Got it," Blair said, holding back the urge to curse as another blast missed it's target.
"Missiles," She muttered to herself the moment the comm-link was off, "I could really use some missiles right about now."

Reichmacht HQ,
In the board of command, Koith along with Kane and few Reichmacht officers, are now discussing about the possible attack from the Azerni. With the hologram projector simulates the Earth, Moon and the red - blue arrows indicating the attack directions, Kane demonstrates:
-Our intels about the Azerni Empire are still scarce, so we can't predict what kind of attack they will bring to us! But maybe, they'll send few waves first, to weaken our defenses and testing our capabilities. If our expectations are straight, they will take to the Moon as their pre-preparation for the siege if it was imminent!
-But we'd taken it sooner than them!-Koith replies.
-Ja!-Kane nods-But that doesn't mean they will give up their attack! Vexus said those Azerni were hunted down to the last of her soldiers. In my mind, they won't give up for such opposition like us!
-Then, they will commence the siege to the Moon first?-One officer suggests.
-Maybe!-Koith nods-But bear in mind that our Earth still have many vulnerable spots for them to enter! We don't know what kind of attack they will choose against us!
-Like, crushing all the oppositions?-One other officer says.
-Well, that's sounds pretty!-Kane smirks-Anyways, we must contact to both G-Force and Skyway for this! Tactics never come from a one-way trip!

"Just a bit," Blair said, watching the drones continue to zip around her, "But it's nothing I can't handle."
She smiled, a realization coming to her. The drones were fast, true, but they weren't apparently very smart. They were following a fairly predictable pattern, she had just failed to notice it. Anticipating that, she flew where she expected one to attack next, and sure enough it was unable to stop in time, flying right into her fist. She then turned to the other, putting a beam where she anticipated it to be and smiling with satisfaction as it fell into her trap.

"So they're going to use the moon?" Jericho questioned as the communications officer relayed Reichmacht's battle plan to him, "Does Skyway know about this?"
"Yessir."
"Then tell them that we must not let Reichmacht gain control of the moon. Send them any resources they request save for Gotengo, manpower, and mecha." Jericho immediately didn't trust Reichmacht. He'd let it slide that the name meant "Imperial Power", but the moon was more valuable offensively than defensively and the fact that an organization with clear political goals and highly advanced technology is targeting it was a frightening prospect. He couldn't let neither the invaders nor the Reichmacht gain control.

Reichmacht HQ,
The intels sent, and the radio officers just relayed back some eavesdropping details. One of them sounded the voice, recently from the G-Force:
"Then tell them that we must not let Reichmacht gain control of the moon. Send them any resources they request save for Gotengo, manpower, and mecha."
Kane smirks:
-So that's what I'd called, "Spy Mailing"!
-"Spy Mailing"?-Koith and Marie surprised.
-Ja!-Kane nodded-It's the double-tap to the messages! While we're sending them, we're also sending some softwares which undercover as the unharmed ones. But inside them, they're relaying back to us what our recipients think and what they do!
-Isn't that violate the freedom of thought?-Koith asks.
-To secure our benefits!-Kane smirks-Since they both are not the potential allies for the long-standing, we must make sure that they will do nothing against us! Especially in such vulnerable time like this!
-Right!-Koith nodded-Both Skyway and G-Force are not happy when we'd taken the Moon! We must be ready for them in the aftermath!
-You'd got what I'm thinking, Kommandeur!-Kane smiled-But right now, we got another thing to focus!

The next wave arrived, and to Blair's surprise they took every possible angle of attack, one above, one below, and one right in front of her. She fired on the one in front first, but it immediately dodged, blasting her at the same time as the other two units. She dodged, trying to freeze the one above, but it dodged, and before she could react she was under fire from the other two units. Annoyed she flew up, aiming at both the unit above and the one that had been in front of her. Both dodged, and again unleashed on her. Annoyed, she started to dive downward, but another burst of fire hit her, and before she could hit her target zeros flashed across the screen. It was over, she'd failed. She sighed, landing and ejecting from the cockpit.
"Well, that could have ended better," She muttered to herself.

"Seventy eight. Not bad, not bad at all," The technician mused to Blair, "Looks like you got yourself quite an audience."
He pointed behind Blair to the rest of Sigma team, who were giving applause.

Blair smiled sheepishly, surprised at the reaction of her team. She had to say, it was great knowing that she already had managed to become part of the unit, she had feared that as a member of Skyway Patrol she'd never really be part of the group, but it was obvious the more time she spent with Sigma team the closer the more they came to accept her.
"Thanks," She said, "Say, has anyone seen Jericho? I'm supposed to pass on a message to him from General Amedes."

Reichmacht Moon Outpost,
In the latest arrival of the Vertigo cruisers, Koith among with Marie and the soldiers of Reichmacht arrived inside the Moon HQ. The people looks so hurry, that usually doesn't feel good. Heading to the Control Room, the officers saluted as they'd seen Koith's appearance. Gets into the topic, he asks:
-Anything new?
Nodded, the HQ Commander replied:
-Sir, we'd spotted the abnormal activities near our Terran territory! This maybe from the Azerni!
-So, they're mobilizing!-Koith smirks. The time he's now awaiting is come shorter and shorter. On the transmission console, Kane face appeared, he says:
-Kommandeur! I'm sending you here to establish our first perimeter. Fend off the Azerni, or else, just holding them before they are reaching the Earth! The longer you're holding them outside, the more chance we could win in this battle!
-So, do you have any reinforcements from the surface?-Koith asked back.
-The Titan-class ICBMs will do the tricks! But in exchange, you must carve a path through to their shield generators!
-Affirmative!-Koith nodded. Then he ordered-Marie, lead the scouts! Investigate the location of the Azerni mobilization!
-Roger!-Marie saluted, then she's off commencing her order.

"He's in his office," Gondo explained, "Is this about Project Ra?"
---
It was the moment of truth, the enemy had finally shown itself. The G-Force hangar doors slowly slid open, as Rumbling started its maiden flight.

"Yes," Blair said curtly, "We just got the okay from our end to start work on it."
She turned, starting to head off to tell Jericho when she stopped.
"Um," She said, "Where is Jericho's office, actually?"
