Ah, good times...
If you didn't know about this show, the premise is that four monks trained in the four ancient elements (fire, water, wind, and earth) are sent on a quest for the mystical Shen Gong Wu, various items that allow the user various incredible powers. When they meet evildoers, a fight over the Shen Gong Wu commences called an eponymous Xiaolin Showdown, where each participant must wager the Shen Gong Wu in their possession and use it in whatever game is decided. The game can be anything from a game of basketball to a game of chess. When the terms are set, the magic within the Shen Gong Wu transforms the landscape to fit the game, creating beautiful and imaginative worlds.

Nice of you to make a separate topic for that one, because it deserves a ripping that the original show doesn't.

Actually creator of the original series is working on chronicles. The question to ask where did she mess up? Remember the last episode when they had to deal with time travel. They can use that as an excuse of the jumbled mess the new series is. The real reason is legal issues but they should be able to improvise. I am going to focus showdown talk on this thread and chronicles on the other unless there is the need of comparing.

So? George Lucas was the creator of the original Star Wars trilogy, and don't tell me he didn't screw up when he tried to recapture the magic of the original with the prequels. I'll still watch Chonicles, but like replaying the Sonic Adventure games, I don't have to enjoy it. I'll just take what I can from it, which unfortunately isn't very much.
Back to the original show, who was your favorite character and favorite Wu?
Mine would be Jack Spicer and the Mobi Morpher.
Jack Spicer is basically the Krillin of the series, an all-around loser just trying his damndest to get by. The difference is while Krillin gets his ass kicked, Jack gets his ass kicked with style, something I can respect. Him having an army of robots also helps, pathetic as they may be against the monks.
The Mobi Morpher is one of the more OP Wu, because it allows the user to shapeshift into ANYTHING with no limitations or repercussions. I kinda feel it was underused in the grand scheme of things. Hannibal Bean could have easily used it to morph into Unicron and just crush the monks literally under his thumb.

Speaking of Hannibal Bean, I expected him to do something bigger when I heard he was doing something far worst then taking over the world. He did become living storm by absorbing Omi’s power and made an army of Jack zombies. That means he has the skill to wield power and great planner but I wasn’t sure what his goal is. He made great heroes fall into evil but for what. Maybe he is one of those chaotic villains.

Eh, most of the villains in Xiaolin Showdown are essentially evil for the sake of evil, easily the biggest flaw of the series. Hell, the only character you can see being evil besides its own sake is Jack, considering how he gets bullied by other evildoers and the so-called righteous monks. It probably was the same even before he started his quest for the Wu.

Another wasted potential were defeated warriors that were cats. Each of them are said to be strong like being samurai, knight, or something else. They may have background characters but they could have been easily developed. I think they wanted to show their ultimate technique. This may be the reason that unstoppable technique is bad writing. Remember when it was stop by a giant Cyclops beam.
