Bodyguard, Chapter 1
“Please… It’s time…”
[Initiating: Bodyguard_V.1.0, Model: BG-3.1]
“We need you… It’s urgent…”
His eyes slowly open as he’s greeted into the new world. HIS world. He can hear for the first time. He can hear… Cheering? Applauding? … Crying? But by what, and where, and when? There’s already so many questions, but no one dares answer.
“Your creation was a success, professor. His eyes have finally opened.”
Who was that? And what is this place? His first thought.
“His eyes may open, but can they blink?”
Upon listening to this comment, he blinks without question.
“Ah… Very good, BG-3. Not only can you see, but you can also hear. Now, let's do something a little more challenging, shall we? Can you, turn your head? Please follow the light.”
He is suddenly blinded. The only thing he can see is something shining from above. It watches him, therefore he watches it back with a certain intensity. It moves, he moves with it. He must follow the light. He stares until his vision turns to pure white.
“Excellent work, BG-3. You’re doing a fine job... Now can you, sit up?”
He thinks again. Why must there be so many tests?
“It’s not hard. Just, lift yourself up, so we may gaze upon your beauty.”
He must try. He picks himself up with an easy sit-up. He leans forward, and sits at a 90 degree angle. From there he freezes in place, unable to gaze back at who is speaking to him.
There’s that cheering sound again…
“... Excuse me… Mr. BG-3?”
Wait, was that to me? Why can’t I see? Is there something wrong with me already?
[Adjusting eyesight. . .]
His vision clears from the blinding white abyss. He can now see. He can see an organism. Short, and thin, and clear, blue eyes. The hair on it’s head is long, and flows perfectly down to it’s waist.
“Can.. Can you speak…?” Asks the short organism.
He turns his head, like practiced. His vision spreads across the room. It's full. Full of strange, skin-like entities. They look similar to the short one, but much, much taller, and the head strings, all at different sizes.
They're all bigger than me. Does this mean something? Am I... Small? A third thought. Now he’s on a roll.
“She asked you a question, BG-3. Can you respond?”
Who is this? Why MUST I respond?
[Activating vocalization. . .]
He freezes, and looks across the room to crowd around him. “A-Am, I…?”
The crowd freezes, and gasp in their amazement.
“Am I, alive?”
Then there is a hand on his shoulder. It’s not his, for it feels soft, and warm. He can feel. And if he can feel, he knows he can touch.
“You are alive now, young one…” speaks the entity whose hand rests with great warmth.
He blinks before he looks into the eyes of this strange creature. He's the tallest in the crowd. He wears short hair, and gives a more muscular, yet wrinkled look. Above the hair, is a crown. A crowd with the sides much larger than the middle spike, and a diamond shape jewel forged in the center. On both sides are triangular jewels, giving the look of fierce, empty eyes.
He remembers the question he was asked a moment ago.
“.... Someone ask me a question?”
Then he remembers again. “It was… You.”
[Facial recognition, online. . .]
“Y-yes! You can speak!” Replies the small entity. It’s tone is, hyper. Raised, but not in a worrisome way.
He quickly realizes, “I really CAN speak…”
“Oh how the creation is a success! The First Emperor shall live on!” The cheers come from something in the end of the room He stares with a blank face. The crowd parties on. The entities all raise their hands up high in appreciation as to what life they have made. His head tilts sideways. The crowd notices his change, and goes silent. He stares blankly to the creatures surrounding him.
“... Oh.. Yes. Let us, continue your tests…” speaks the tallest entity.
The tallest one, the one whose hand rests on his shoulder, look to another. The second entity nods.
“Let us try, what may be your most challenging test yet… Can you, please stand?” The tallest one questions.
He blinks once again. The only thing he knows how to do without difficulty. He glares down to the end of the platform he rests on. He can see his legs. He can see his feet.
“All you have to do, is balance.. Balance is key to standing. Standing, is key to walking, and walking is key to running. We will move on to those when you are ready. But balance, is the skeleton key to it all. And all we ask of you now, is to simply stand…”
He watches the crowd gather with much anticipation. Their faces, filled with an unknown expression. They want to see him move. They want to see him stand for the very first time.
Why? Why am I important? Why do they want me to accomplish such simple tasks? Why am I here?
He looks back to his feet and wiggles them side to side. The crowd’s eyes widen. He blinks with a straight, emotionless face. He tries to move, but he can't. His arms. They forgot to test his arms... His hands… They forgot about his hands…
[Self decision module, activated. . .]
He holds up his right arm. He decides he shall test them himself. He flexes, and the hand curls into a fist. The crowd sits in awe. Once he tests his hands, only then can he test his stance.
He pushes himself to the end of the legged platform. He stares down to the floor. He looks for to the other entities’ feet. Not a single leg interacts with the tiles below them. They're just.. stubs, floating inches above the ground.
But… If they do not have any.. Why do I? Am I the only one with this gift?
“There is no need to be afraid, BG-3. Just relax, and you shall find yourself to be standing in no time…” Advises the tallest entity.
The tall one is wise. I would like to be like it.
“... Define… Afraid…”
Now the tallest entity is blinking with an unknown expression on his face. It looks at him with an open grin.
“There is no such thing as ‘afraid,’ young one. Only curiosity.” Replies the tallest entity. “Now, please. We are very curious to see what you can do…”
He looks back down to his feet. He glares at the floor. Then, he drags himself off the legged platform...
His feet gently touch the ground beneath. He takes caution as he slowly rises. The crowds are all locked onto him as he stands straight, and trips over his own feet.
He falls, but is caught. Several creatures support him backup. Though, he still feels as if he is falling.
He locks eyes with the shortest organism's blue eyes. They glare to each other, and he blinks. It takes him only a moment before he realizes he is laying flat on the ground, and catches the crowd’s eyes staring with yet another unknown expression. Their eyes are wide, and their mouth’s open.
Afraid… They are, afraid…
He sits back up into his 90 degree angle, and takes a look around the room. He sees the four legged platform he has awoken on, and several cords and wires hanging above, along with the light caught in the tangled madness of tubes, wires, and other strange technology. He wonders how he didn't notice the cords, as he follows along into a large box, with glass on the side, and several buttons sticking out the edge. The glass displays a 3D modeled character, with a tall, strong form, and legs and hands that look exactly the same as his.
Is that… Me?
The shorter entity approaches, and hold out it’s hands close to him. He stares, and blinks some more. “Take them…" It says, "I will help you stand…”
It wants me to take it’s own hands? Why shall I do such a task? I suppose, since it asked me to...
He cautiously reaches out, and he holds on. He can feel it’s fingers wrapping around his wrists.
This was not what she wanted. It wanted me to TAKE its hands, not hold onto them! What is it doing?
As he slowly rises to his feet once again, it gently let's go...
[Initiating balance scales. . .]
From there, he stands in the center on the room. He looks around, flexes, and curls his fists. He blinks, and watches the beings watch him right back. He's learned so much already, and he wants to learn more. . .

Bodyguard, Chapter 2
Day 1, and 24 hours for that day to end. By now, he’s learned to stand, sit, speak, and carry objects. Walking though, has become the new issue.
Every few minutes, he is to walk back and forth around the same room he’s created in, while being watched by dozens of these tall creatures. Not once has he been able to reach the way out. Instead, he’s only reach the doorway, and trips over his own two feet. After that, several entities would pick him up, carry him back to his legged platform, and rerun the tests he’s undergone. This goes on for several hours, and each time, he begins to feel more and more curious as to what other world is behind that door. Each and every time he tries, the more the entities around him cheer him on, especially the shortest organism. Meanwhile, the tallest entity makes different facial expressions. Ones he does not yet recognize.
Thirteen hours in, and the other entities begin to make the same expressions as the tallest one. Some even leave. The one place he can’t get out, are where the others are going. Eventually, all get tired, and they all exit the room, leaving it just to the tallest entity, the smallest entity, and another entity.
They are leaving. Are they leaving me behind? Why? Am I doing something wrong? Am I… Obsolete already…?
He overhears the tallest entity speak to another…
“Perhaps he has a malfunction?” Asks the second entity.
“... I do not believe he has any issues whatsoever.” Answers the tallest. “He just doesn’t believe he’s ready yet.”
His turn to speak…
“... Excuse me.” He chimes in.
Both entities divert their attention, and glare into his eyes.
“I would like to believe I’m ready.” He manages. “I want to see what there is to offer, but I just cannot make it out… Can you tell me how big it is?”
“How big what is?” Asks the tallest.
“... The outside… I am curious to know…”
The two entities look to each other. Their facial expressions unrecognizable. They look back into his eyes.
“... You learned, curiosity…” Speaks the second entity.
“Yes,” he realizes. “I learned many things these last few hours. Curiosity being one of those things.”
“Young one, curiosity is truly an amazing emotion to feel first. It can lead to many things…” Explains the tallest entity.
“... Define amazing…” He challenges.
Once again, the two look at each other. The second entity's head shakes, and they one last time turn back to his eyes.
The tallest one answers, “Amazing is, what you believe amazing is… Only the bearer of the word, shall tell what amazing truly means…”
“... I would like to be the bearer of amazing, if that is possible…”
The tallest one laughs. It approaches, and once again, rests one of it’s warm hands on his shoulder.
“Very well, then… You, shall be the bearer of ‘amazing.’," announces the tallest. “What is it, you find amazing?”
“Well… I believe you’re amazing…”
The tallest laughs, even though it’s difficult to recognize it.
“Why is that, young one?” The tallest one asks.
“... You’re wise. You help me. You teach me…”
The tallest one rests another hand on his shoulder. He looks deep into his eyes with his emotionless expression. He can almost see right through them…
“Do you know what I am, BG-3?” It asks.
“... No. I would like to know…”
“I am known as the First Emperor… But those who follow me, my subjects, call me the Loved One…”
“... Define… Lo-”
“Shh…” Interrupts the First Emperor. “No more questions… Now is the time for answers…”
It stands. And ushers the second entity, and the smaller entity to step forward. They obey, and make their way forward one at a time, with the smaller entity stepping up first.
The First Emperor asks, “Do you know who you are, young one? What BG-3 stands for?”
“Umm… BG-3 stands for Bodyguard model 3, is that correct?”
“Close… But, do you even know what a bodyguard, is?”
“No, First Emperor… But, I am curious to know.” He answers.
“A bodyguard, is someone who dedicates their life to protect the ones who claim to be higher than you. Someone who is, bigger…”
“And…. I, am one of these bodyguards?”
“Yes… You are indeed a bodyguard…”
“.. Does that make me… Small?”
The First Emperor realizes what he says. He looks down and back, and sighs.
“Of course not,” The Loved One answers, “you, are most likely one of the biggest ones here. Power-wise, that is…”
“... Define… Power…”
“... I would like to not discuss that, if you would mind… Power, is a bold word, for someone who craves to be big…And I am not one of those people…” the Emperor admits.
“Then define, emperor…”
The small organism looks up to the First Emperor, who freezes in his place.
“Umm… Well…” He manages out, “The Emperor, is someone who watches out for their people. The one who takes charge, when no one else can… Such as the Emperor’s followers...”
“I see… Then, may I become one of your followers?” He questions.
The second one blurts out, “We are ALL the Loved One’s followers, BG-3…”
The First Emperor then remembers the second, and smallest entity’s presence.
“Ah, yes… Bodyguard, these are two of my most dearest followers… This,” it presents the second organism, “This is Professor, Aliern. He is mainly known, though, as the First Professor…”
Aliern gives a little nod hello. It’s tall, but seemingly not as tall as The First Emperor, nor even he himself. It wears strange glass circles over it’s eyes, and it's look is a little brighter than the First Emperor’s, or the even little one’s skin color.
“I am the one who has built you, Bodyguard…” Explains Aliern with a little bow.
“I see… Well, I am very grateful you did that, First Professor… Otherwise, I would not be here…”
“Precisely.”
The First Emperor is then reminded of something.
“Mr. Aliern... He needs to go through with his tests, again…”
“Ah, yes… That’s correct…” Aliern replies. “Bodyguard, now that we’ve discussed your purpose, do you think you can make it out of this very room?”
“I-I’d like to think so…” He answers, ”I’m still very curious as to what is out there…”
He looks to Aliern, them spots the shorter organism…
“... Excuse me, Loved One… You did not introduce me to this one…” he says, pointing.
The First Emperor ignores his comment, and proceeds to instruct him back through the testing he has already gone through many times before. The whole time, he remains in eye contact with the shorter entity, who just stands there and watches as he stands.
“Excellent work so far, Bodyguard… Let’s see if you’re now capable of walking through, that, door. . .”
He remains in silence, and keeps his eyes on the small entity, whose watches him right back. He slowly becomes filled with a new feeling… A feeling the short entity fills him with...

Bodyguard, Chapter 3
He takes a step. Maintaining eye contact with the small entity now floating next to him.
It makes a weird facial expression. It’s eyes slightly squinted up, and her mouth pointing up in a weird shape. It puts its hands together.
“You can do this, Bodyguard…” The First Emperor states, and he leads him to the doorway of the room.
Bodyguard keeps his facial expression straight, and emotionless, as he makes another step. Then another, then another. Slowly, but surely making it to his goal. He keeps to maintain his balance, every step rolling his feet flat against the floor, and planting it firmly
Each step… Getting shorter and shorter…
He sees the exit. His way out. Out into the open world he is curious to see. He blinks.
The hallways reach out. It stretches, and looks to be miles away. Can he really can make it out? Is he really ready to see what's out there? Should he wait? Should he even leave the room he was made in? No. Of course he's ready. He was made to make it out. He was made to protect those higher than him. If he cannot do something as simple as walk through a door, than he cannot be the First Emperor’s bodyguard.
This is what I was made for. How am I incapable of completing such an easy task?
No. He’ll make it. He already has. He just needs one… Step… More…
He grabs the door frame. He drops to his knees.
“BG-3!? Are you alright!?” Worries Aliern.
“... Define… Alright…”
“Bodyguard… You made it…” Says the shorter one. It's tone sounding in shock.
“I… I have not made it yet…” He says, and he struggles to get back up.
“Bodyguard, understand this. Do you know why you cannot make it out?” The First Emperor asks.
“No. I do not…”
Must I really even know?
“The door was your grand test. The way to prove you are capable of witnessing the world around you. The door is your goal, and you yourself, is the goal keeper… The one who must reach his goal. You did not make it at first, because you were unsure whether you really wanted to or not. There's a deeper meaning behind this… But, you did it… You made it to the outside…”
He can feel someone picking him up. He looks deep into the First Emperor’s eyes once again. Perfect eye level.
“Are you ready? Ready to see what beautiful life we have to offer you?”
“...”
… Am I? But, Define beautiful… No. No questions. Of course I am. I'm… Curious… I'm Determined...
“Show me. I would like to see it all.” He finally answers.
The First Emperor makes the same face at the shorter entity's. “Then come. The world awaits.”

Bodyguard, Chapter 4
It's been four days later, and he's already seen much. He’s met many. He felt, he heard,he saw, he even learned to smell some things. He's touched all he could, from the walls, to the furniture, to the people, to even the meals on the organism’s plates. All, have which have shooed him away, but he did not care. He was curious.
He felt the pelts of the First Emperor’s bed cushions, after of which, he learned beds are for organisms when they need to sleep.
“... Define… sleep…”
And then he learns.
Sleep? Do I need that? It's such an unusual concept.
He's felt more meals made for the entities, where then he leaned what eating is.
Eat? ... Food? Maybe I should try it sometime… I do not think I need it, though… Do I?
And that's when he proceeds to devour an entire seven course meal, belonging to something else of course. He's simply shooed away, with curiosity as to why the creature acted that way.
This goes on for several more days. Touching, and learning, and asking questions, even though he continues to remind himself that no questions shall be asked. He does it anyway. He’s determined to learn more.
Then one day, he meets a different organism… A strange, bigger creature. Not bigger in height, but bigger in mass. It's scaly skin is a dark greenish-brown, and wears clothing, unlike the organisms he's already met. Clothing looking very similar to the Loved One’s bed sheets. It must be the same pelts.
Another creature? Perhaps it’s a different species? … I'd like to meet him.
He hurriedly approaches. And without a word, he goes to touch this new creature’s skin.
“...... Umm…?” The new creature croaks.
“Hello. I'm BG-3. But, others call me Bodyguard.” He explains, while keeping his eyes on the pelts.
“... Oh…. It's you… You're that guy that cost me a lot of money…The guy the First Emperor wanted… What is it you’re doing there?” This creature asks.
“I am learning. It is what I do to discover more.” He answers, still caressing his hands against the creature’s skin and coats. “... I never thought of trying it THAT way before…”
“It's an amazing way to learn.”
He can hear a gentle breeze behind him, as he senses the First Emperor approaching.
“Ah, Bumbo… I see you have met Bodyguard.” The First Emperor says.
“He’s definitely something… That I will say.” The creature says, slightly amazed.
“Isn't he phenomenal? Such curiosity dwells within him. He’s like my second child…”
“Technically, he IS your second child! Except he wasn't born, he was-!”
“Shh…” First Emperor interrupts, “He is born the same way we all once were… Born, into this magnificent world…”
“First Emperor…?” Bodyguard chirps.
“How may I help you, young one?” The First Emperor speaks.
“Define… Born…”
“It's a long explanation, and I'm sure you will eventually learn soon…”
“Well,” the green creature, Bumbo, chimes in, “Birth, starts all the way back to when a man, and a woman, or boy or girl, begin to have feelings for-”
“Bumbo, Please… He will learn some other time…” The Emperor once again interrupts.
“Define… Man, Woman, Boy and Girl…” he challenges.
“You should know, Bodyguard… You, for example are a boy… I am a boy, along with Mr. Bumbo here.”
“I am still not quite sure I understand… Is there supposed to be a difference to tell which one is which?”
“Yes… And they are obvious. You will see yourself, and learn soon enough…”
“I see,” he says, “thank you…”
“Now, be on your way, bodyguard. Continue to learn until I find you once again. I have important matters to discuss with Mr. Bumbo, here…” The First Emperor says, and it sends Bodyguard off to explore once more.
What are they talking about? I would like to know… If only I could…
“E-excuse me, Bodyguard…?” peeps something from behind. It's a light, and and familiar voice. He turns around, and accidentally bumps into the small entity. It gasps as it falls onto its behind.
“... Yes?” He asks.
“The small entity gets up and brushes its hip. It looks back up to Bodyguard’s eyes.
“You… Asked if you would like to know what a boy and a girl is… Wouldn't you like to know?”
That's when his curiosity chimes in.
“Yes… Please tell me. I would like to know…”
“Here… I will show you outside…”
“But… Aren't I outside already?” He asks. “Define, outside.”
“Oh… No, you are still indoors.” It explains, with a small sigh.
“I am… Unsure I know what is going on right now.”
“Outside is- …” it tries to explain, but it catches itself as it realizes it can't. “Let me just show you…”
It takes him by the hands once again and leads him deep through the corridors. He's seen them before. He’s felt them before. He looks deeply into the environment around him, nearly losing himself and staring off into space. He can feel it stop, but keeps walking himself. He slams into something.
“Bodyguard!?” The short entity yelps.
He backs out. And finds staring face-to-face with a massive, wooden object. Two huge metal handles stick out nearly to his torso level. He feels them, and the wooden wall.
“This is… Different, than the other walls.” Says bodyguard skeptically.
“That's a door, Bodyguard.” the small entity giggles. “It's the portal leading to the outside world. The REAL outside world.
“Define… Portal…”
“It's an object used to take you one place, to the other. Try pulling on the knob.”
He blinks once, and obeys. He grips the doorknobs with an intense curiosity, and pulls with great determination. He's excited to see what lies beyond this portal.
He's immediately blinded by the beauty that shines right into his eyes…

Bodyguard, Chapter 5
“So! Let's recap!”
“Define… Recap…”
“Umm, I thinks it's to go over something?”
“... I see…”
He stares off into the city. The city in the skies. Pillars upon pillars carry the streets, and the houses and buildings take up every sidewalk and highway. Fountains and strange stoned entities are in every corner, right next to the streetlights and benches. He stumbles upon wider open area. He sees a larger fountain, with what appears of the First Emperor fixed into the top. He’s spitting out an endless stream of a strange, clear liquid into the fountain he rests upon, while also standing in an unusually elegant pose.
What an unlikely position he's gotten himself into… I wonder why he is standing up there like that? I must go talk to him…
He wanders off towards the statue, ignoring the short entity’s babbling. It turns and watches, and for a brief second of no reaction, it jumps up and panics.
“Bodyguard!” It squeaks. “Where are you going!? I thought we were going over what you learned today!”
He approaches the First Emperor with a blank stare.
“... First Emperor… What is it you're doing up there like that?” He asks.
He can sense the attention already as he looks around. Apparently his comment has put a lot of unknown expressions in their faces. He ignores them. The First Emperor stays perfectly still.
“First Emperor… Loved one, you are doing some, unknown actions toward this, ‘fountain.’ You appear to be making a scene… Are you not going to get down?”
The First Emperor doesn't respond. It just stands there, spewing clear liquid out of it’s mouth into the fountain.
“I wish to not bother you with whatever you are doing, but I am simply asking what you're-”
“Bodyguard!” He hears from behind. He turns to see the small entity rapidly floating towards him. He blinks and takes a step back.
“Bodyguard!” It peeps, “That's not the REAL First Emperor!”
“... Then who is it? Why does it not like to speak to me?” He says as he turns back to face the unmoving object, making an impression of the First Emperor. "Am I doing something wrong?"
“That's a STATUE of the First Emperor! Statues are used to show honor of someone important or meaningful to their lives! They make a stone carving of the person to show they care about them!” The small one explains.
Statues to show they care about someone…
“Define… Care…”
“... Umm… caring is, uhh…” It gives a hard look. “We’ll talk about that later. For now, let's reflect on what you've learned!”
“........ Define… Reflect…”
“Bodyguard!”
“... Yes?” He replies..
“Ugh! Okay, so… You remember, right? What I've told you today?” She asks.
“Of course.”
“Good! So you know that you are…?”
“... I am a… Boy..”
“And the First Emperor is…?”
“A…… Boy, also?”
“Good! And I am….?”
“A…… Boy?”
“Girl.”
“Right. Girl.”
“Good!” She finally finishes. “And you remember the pronouns?”
“He, his, him, she, her and… hers. He for boy, and she, girl.”
“Or, you can call it male or female.”
“... I see…”
“So, think you got it now? And you remember how to tell which is which?” she questions.
“... Yes.” He finally answers. “But, there is just one more question I would like to know.”
“What is it?” she wonders.
“... Is Mr. Bumbo a boy, or a girl?”
“......” She stares off, and makes an unknown facial expression. Her mouth curves upward, showing her teeth. “Mr. Bumbo is a…. Girl.”
“... I see…” He blinks, and finally makes a face he himself has not recognized yet. “This is all very… Unorganized…”
“It's kinda confusing, I know. But, you'll get the hang of it sometime soon!”
“... Confusing…? Hang of it…? Could, you explain both of those to me?”
She giggles, and and turns and and starts floating away.
“Bodyguard!” She yells as she keeps her back turned and leaving, “You're so funny!”
“........... Funny….?” He says as makes his first face of emotion. The face of confusion. He turns back to the statue, and slowly tries to catch up to the girl...

Bodyguard, Chapter 6
As Bodyguard pulls open the door, he feels a cool breeze seeping through. He opens to find the First Emperor standing on the other side. He floats a few feet back faster than usual.
“Oh, Bodyguard! You, surprised me! Where have you been?” He asks.
“.... Define… Surprise…?”
“Sorry! We were exploring the cities!” She small entity says as she pops up from behind.
“Why, have you taken him out into the city?” The First Emperor looks with a face of confusion.
“So Bodyguard can learn what a boy and a girl is! We used the cityfolk as an examples!”
Bodyguard blinks, and turns to the First Emperor.
“I see…” Says the First Emperor, “Have you learned much on your little adventure?”
“Define… Adventure…”
“... An adventure is exploration. Discovering new things as you move through your wondrous life…”
“... Define… Wondrous…”
“... Ho boy…”
The First Emperor stops floating and gets on one knee. He looks Bodyguard dead in the eye.
“Bodyguard, understand me this. Any word you don't know can ALWAYS mean what you think it is. You don't always have to look to others for help on figuring out what something means. Do you understand?”
“....”
... No...
“Define… Understand…”
The First Emperor sighs, and looks down to the short entity.
“Will you take Bodyguard with you wherever you're going, please? I have some important business to attend to.” He says as he floats back up.
“Of course!” The sort entity replies as she looks to Bodyguard. “Come on, Bodyguard! Let's go explore some more!”
“Define explore.”
She laughs once again, and he makes a confused face. She takes him by the hands and drags him through the corridors to see what else he can learn from within.
As they move across the halls, he spots something. It's in a dim room, with a single light in the center. Inside is a glass cover on a pedestal, and something small and violet inside. He can see a faint box-like legged platform behind the violet object, but can't make out what it is. She continues to drag him through until he cannot see it anymore. He decides to ignore it off for now, and keep going.
They run, and they run and they run, her pointing at some things around along the way. Even if he's seen them already, and felt them, he still listens. The whole time he feels excitement, and curiosity all with his usual straight face.
It's simpler if you've already seen it before...
“You seen the First Emperor’s room, right?” The small entity suddenly asks, catching him staring off.
“... Yes. I remember the pelts on his bed, and why they are there.”
“What else have you seen in here?”
“....... Everything.”
“... Have, you seen yourself?”
... No… What do I look like? What AM I?
She nods when she sees his look of confusion, and drags along. She drags him to a new room. One he hasn't seen before.
… What is this room? Why haven't I been in this one yet?
She pushes him close to a wall. A strange new wall he hasn't seen before. It's made of glass, and the wall shows he himself. He looks deeply into the strange glass wall, and reaches for it. The wall reaches back. He jerks his hand back, and it does the same. He carefully looks deeper…
He can see himself. His blank, glowing white eyes, his hair, his slightly scrawny, but muscular look. He can see his boots more clearly. A curved, thick blades on the toes, and small coned chapped thorns on the heels. He looks up to himself again. He touches his face.
“... It's called a mirror. It shows your reflection,” She explains. “And, uh… This room is called a restroom…”
“... This… This is me?” He asks, now touching the face in the mirror.
“That's what you look like! The First Emperor and First Professor had some amazing intentions on your designs…”
“... Designs?” He looks even more confused. “Define… Designs…”
She perks up. “Oh! Uhh, design is… What you look like… Just what you look like.”
“Does my design… Satisfy the First Emperor?”
“Yes… It does… He loves your design."
“Does it… Satisfy you…?”
She freezes in place. Her face turns red.
“... Is something the matter? Was there something wrong with something I said?” He asks. He steps back from the mirror and looks directly into her eyes. “Your face is changing different color. Are you okay?”
“... I think… Your design is-... It's-...” She freezes again. She quickly shakes her head and retreats out the room. He tilts his head and blinks.
She’s gone. Perhaps it WAS something I said.
He leaves the room next, and sees her hurriedly floating down the corridors and around a corner. He chooses not to follow. Instead, he hears a strange flushing sound inside the “restroom,” and sees Mr. Bumbo step out.
“... Bodyguard, kid? You got a lot of work ahead of you if you wanna win that girl’s heart.” Bumbo says as he wipes his hands against his pelts.
“... Heart? Win? … Kid?” He blinks and makes yet another, even more confused face.
“... Oh yeah… You're kinda an idiot…”
“Define… Idiot…”
“Not now, kid. I just heard you screw yourself over completely with a relationship. I'm thinking…”
Bodyguard just stands there, trying to make out a new face to describe what's going on. Instead he just cringes.
“... Listen, kid. Now ain't the time to get all lovey dovey. Especially with her.” Bumbo issues. “There's things goin’ on, and there's a lot you gotta know first.”
“Mr. Bumbo, you are confusing me.”
“Okay… Since when did you learn that?”
“It was her. She helped me insert the new emotion.” He says as he looks down the corridor the entity ran. “She also taught me gender differentials.”
“Ah, I guess there's a good start!” Bumbo applauds clapping his hands together. “I guess that's how figured out how love and all that works then, huh?”
“... No.”
Is Mr. Bumbo trying to tell me something?
“Define everything you've said within these last few minutes.”
“Eyy, don't be gettin all sassy on me now!” The toad-man exclaims.
“Define sassy.” Bodyguard challenges.
“Kid, I can tell we're gonna get along JUST fine!” Bumbo laughs as he pats BG on the back and makes his way down the halls.
… What was Mr. Bumbo doing in this “restroom” anyway…?
Next one to approach is Aliern. He’s just about to enter this “restroom,” but stops upon seeing Bodyguard.
“Ah… BG-3.. What is it you're doing in a place like this?” Aliern asks.
“... I'm not sure. She, the smaller one, was showing me myself, and then just left when I asked her a question…”
“... Going into the men's room again, I see… I'll have to have a discussion with her after I'm done.”
“... Aliern…?”
“Yes? What is it? Please be quick, I really must go…”
“Why did the smaller one run when I asked if she was satisfied with my design?”
“Aliern freezes as he grips the doorknob. “... Ask that again?”
“Why is it that she ran when she asked is she was satisfied with my design? If she was satisfied with what I look like?”
He legs go, and adjusts his eyeglasses. “I- uh, Well you see-, uh..” He stutters as he talks. Bodyguard makes another face of confusion. “You see, with her… That’s not really something one asks her… No one has ever asked her that question before. At least, not so… Suddenly. Or, from what I know about her…”
“... What DO you know about her? I'm curious to know.”
“Young one, there's a lot you don't know. Especially about her, and what goes on around here. When the time comes, you'll know. But, for now-...” He hurriedly tugs on the knob and swings the door open. “I must use the restroom.”
“But, what is the restroom used fo-?” Before he could finish, Aliern is already slamming the door shut.
He blinks, and tilts his head. He shrugs it off, makes note of it, and continues onward through the day.

Bodyguard, Chapter 7
It's been a few weeks later. By far, he's learned just about everything there is in the palace. He's met the servants, royal court, and everyone somewhat related to the First Emperor.
After a few days of being avoided, the girl finally speaks to him again, and now often takes him outside into the city and show him more of what it has to offer. He's felt hope every time he looks up to the skies. Apparently, they're not just pink in sunsets, but all day as well. It makes him curious as to why. He's felt confusion when his questions are answered. He's felt excitement whenever they leave, and he feels surprised whenever he bumps into someone while staring off. He now remembers what the city looks like.
The city is built entirely of a bright yellow stone, with constant thin highways stretching all the way across. He learns about the organism's main style of transportation. Hovering. They don't bear any special style of transportation, except for rapid moving gondolas for those in need of traveling all the way across the city in a hurry. Otherwise, hovering is the way they go. They move up and down the streets, homes, and parks. The cities are made up of stone parks, highways, and large tower-like buildings. He’s never been in one of those yet, but he certainly would like to soon.
The girl would explain how they live in a giant floating city in the skies, all touching down to the surface world through one, thin pillar. He asks why they do so, and all she responds with is an “in due time.”
She’s avoiding the question… Why is it we live in the skies, and not down in the surface world? What IS the surface world?
“Define… Surface…”
“Bodyguard,” she sighs, “It's not important… We chose to like up here because we like it better. It's a lot prettier, and it's safer.”
“... Safer? Define-”
“Bodyguard, please. You don't have to ask about everything.”
“... Okay…”
They walk along another park, with another large fountain in the middle. He watches the fountain and looks up to the statue. This one’s different.
Wait a second…
“Excuse me.” Bodyguard blurts out. She stops and turns her full attention. She sees what he's looking at, and her face goes red again. “Is that you on that fountain?”
Yes. Yes it is. He can easily recognize the small entity carved into that stone. She's bent down on one knee, and she too spits out clear liquid. He tilts his head. “Why is it that YOU'RE made of stone as well?”
She floats up next to him and shakes her head. “In due time…” She says.
“... Okay…” He replies without argue. “Where is it we’re going next? Back to the palace?”
“... Yeah… We should go back. It's getting late.”
“What is it like when it gets ‘late?’ Does something happen?”
“The, uh, the sky gets dark, and that's when the moons come out! But, it's not always safe when it gets late.”
“... Moons? What are moons?”
“Uhh, I'm not too sure… They're the things that light up the sky when it gets late. We have four of them.”
“But, I thought it get dark when it gets late.”
“Oh, it does! Each moon shares a night! Well, two moons share a night together… It only lights it up enough to see where you're going. Also, the lamp posts light up, and the fountains glow, and it gets SUPER amazing!”
“... I want to see this, ‘night.’ Can we stay out to see it? Would you come with me if we do?”
“I-, uhh…” She hesitates. “The, First Emperor says it's not safe to go outside at night…”
“Why is that? And… Define safe.”
“Safe is inside at night. That's what safe is…”
“...” He starts staring.
“... Umm..” She shifts uncomfortably. “What is it…?”
“If you want to go inside, I am okay with it.” He finally answers after a moment of unusual staring.
“W-wait, really!?” She says, surprised.
“It's want you want to do. Is it not?” He tilts his head.
“I mean… Yeah, but, I thought your curiosity would overwhelm you.”
“No. I mean, I am curious, but if I'm not ready to see, then I'm okay.”
She begins staring. Her face flushes red, and she holds her arm. “Well… I guess we could stay out a little longer…”
“That's up to you. I'm okay with whatever you want to do.”
She takes him by the hand once again and leads him to a bench. They sit, and wait the day away. He stares off into the sunset, and she watches him. They sit in utter silence, except in times when she points out shapes of the bright pink clouds in the sky. He sits and listens, and doesn't even bother asking what a cloud even is. Her pointing them out is just enough information. Eventually it gets darker, and the street lights turn on. A sudden feeling of excitement is felt within, as he sees all the changes that happens when it finally becomes night.
She stands, and stretches. She holds out her hand, and he takes it. The streets start clearing, and the clouds do too. He can see two bright lights on the sky. One slightly larger than the other. They shine a pure white, and are both crescent.
“... Are those the moons you mentioned earlier?” He says, watching them rise from below.
“Yes… The bigger one is named The Great Cron, and the smaller is named Brak’s Dagger!”
“... The Great Cron… Why is it named that? Brak’s dagger?”
“Well, Great Cron is the biggest and fiercest, but has a soft heart, and Brak’s Dagger is cold, and doesn't like to show emotion very much…”
“You said there were four. What are the other’s called?”
“... Uhh, they don't have names…”
“Why?” He says both surprised, and confused.
“Because they weren't the guiding moons. The ones that led us to the society we live in today…”
“...” He doesn't know how to react. Confusion doesn't seem fit for this history. “... Guiding moons?”
“Yeah! The guiding moons of civilization! The Great Cron led us to the the city in the skies, and Brak’s Dagger United the kingdoms! It threw its dagger down upon us, and that's when peace came!”
Bodyguard is in another world at this point. There's far too much he doesn't know, and it erases his mind crystal clean. He looks and stares out into the Guiding moons. The Great Cron, and Brak’s Dagger. They built these organism’s city. But, there's more than he could possibly realize. He wants to know, but what he’s learned already has just been too much for him. He falls flat onto his back.
“Bodyguard!?” She panics, and kneels down over him. “Bodyguard, are you okay!?”
“... Why is it, that I missed so much?” He says, as he reaches up to the night skies. “Where was I when all this happened?”
“Well… I wasn't around to see it either, I've just been told of our history when I was younger…”
“... Am I… Too young?”
She pinches her eyes shut. “No, Bodyguard… You're perfect.”
He looks to her. The first time in his life, he smiles, “... I want to stay with you… And learn it all…”
Her eyes open. She gets back up. Her face flushed with dark red, and her face more surprised than ever. “What are you trying to tell me!? Why? Why are you saying all these things!?”
He sits up, and stares. “... Am I… Is there something wrong? Was it something I said? Why don't I know what you're thinking? What you're feeling? Am I obsolete? Broken?” He looks down to his hands. His eyes are intense. Desperate. His hands start shaking. His head, shaking.
Why is it she's being this way? What's wrong with me? Is it my design? My emotions? Were they inserted wrong? Am I broken? What will the First Emperor think of this? What about Aliern? Or Mr. Bumbo, or even this girl? Why are we outside so late? What are the guiding moons? Who IS she? Why don't I even know her name!? What's wrong with my head!? Why is there so many thoughts flowing through me!? WHAT’S HAPPENING?
And then he feels something. A soft, warm feeling. They sit under a street light, near the fountain of the girl. The moons open up in the clouds. They shine a light down upon them. He closes his eyes. He doesn't know what's going on. He stops shaking. His mind is empty. He can't feel, he can hear, he can't see. He’s limp. He's lost in another world.
He, and the girl’s lips touch. He stares, wide-eyed. Then his eyes close, and they press against each other. Lost in time. Their surroundings fade. They sit in the the middle of nowhere. In the glow in the middle of the darkness. The light within the void.
He knows too little. He doesn't know, but he doesn't care.
What is this? Why am I doing this? What… Does… This… Symbolize…?
He hears a whisper. “BG… I love your design… And I love your emotions… I want you to stay with me, and we’ll learn… Together…”

Bodyguard, Chapter 8
The next morning. Sunlight spears his shut, sleeping eyes. He jumps up, and looks around in a panic.
What!? What happened? Where am I?
He looks around the new, bright blue room. He sees a window, where the sun is coming from. He's never been in this room before.
What!? How did I get here?
He feels around.
Why is my legged platform soft? … Wait, have I been ASLEEP? Is that what sleep feels like?
He looks down and discovers he's laying in a bed, sheets covering his body.
But, beds are for the organisms. I don't NEED to sleep. What-? whose bed is this?
He uncovers himself. He takes a better look around.
The room is brightly lit with the sunlight shining in. Banners of navy blue and gold are hung along the walls. He sees a wooden wardrobe against one far wall, and a desk on the other. Beside the desk is a fireplace, with chairs and couches facing towards the furnace. He looks at the bedsheets. Bright blue, like the room. Small hints of gold sparkle in the walls, banners, and furniture. He shifts position, but something gets in his way.
The girl lays back turned against him. He makes a confused look. He gets out of the bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. She moves and wiggles around. She still seems asleep.
“...” He blinks.
But… We were outside last night… How did I get here?
He walks over to the couch, and feels it. He shrugs it off, and looks to the doorway out.
“Good morning” He suddenly heard from behind. He quickly reacts and turns around. She's sitting up, and rubbing her eye. She yawns. “Did you sleep okay?”
“I didn't know I had to sleep.” He replies with. He blinks and stares down at his hands. “... How did I get here last night?”
“I walked us back home… I thought we’d call learning off for the night and get to bed…”
“Why did you bring me with you? I was supposed to sit and wait for all of you so awaken on my legged platform. Like I do every other time.”
“Not tonight you didn't…” She giggles. “I let you off the hook with this one… And every other one from now on.”
“... Why?” Was it something I said last night? Was I being forceful? Did I ask to stay?”
“I wanted you to!” She squeaks, but then realizes what she said. “I mean, I didn't feel safe last night… I just thought it'd be a good idea if you stayed with me and, you know… Became a bodyguard for a night…”
“Bodyguards are meant to protect their higher ones. The ones who have power.”
“... Well, I guess.” She looks like she's in thought. “... BG, do you know who I am?”
“........”
… I've been with her for weeks. Learning with her. Discovering with her. And I don't even know her name…
“What… Is your name…?”
“You mean no one’s told you!?” She suddenly freaks. “All this time, and you never even learned who I am!?”
“I’m sorry! I just didn't know! I STILL don't know!”
“...” She thinks again. “... It's okay… I forgive you… Who I don't forgive though, is my father.”
“... Forgive? Father?”
“Umm, those are a little hard to define... Come on. I'll explain it to you on the way to the First Emperor.”
She takes his hand, and leads him out the door. He finds himself yet again in the corridors he lives in, but instantly discovers that he’s never even explored this portion before.
All this time, and I've never even gotten to see what was in here. I thought I've explored it all already.
She takes him to the First Emperor’s room, where he sits in his bed. He heard them come in with a smile. “Ah, there you two are… I haven't seen you last night. Where have you gone?”
“I was showing Bodyguard what it was like in the night time.” She says, with a new face. “But… Now I want to know something…”
“What is it?” He asks, noticing her change in expression.
“Why didn't you even tell him who I was!? All these last few weeks, and he doesn't even know my name! I bet he didn't even know I LIVED here!”
His expression changes as well. Bodyguard blinks at the sight of this new event.
“... Bodyguard. Step forward.” The First Emperor commands. Bodyguard does so.
“Is there something wrong, loved one?” He asks, looking back to the girl for a brief second, then back to The First Emperor.
The First Emperor stands, and kneels before Bodyguard. He rests a hand on Bodyguard’s shoulder. “Bodyguard, listen to me. You know your true purpose, do you not?”
“I'm a bodyguard. I protect those above me.”
“Close.” The First Emperor finally reveals, “a bodyguard protects a single person. The one closest to you. They hire you to guard them, because they are afraid to fend for themselves.”
Afraid… I haven't heard that word in a long time…
“Listen to me now…” Bodyguard reminds, “Bodyguard… I'm getting old.”
“Define old.”
“Old is when you become weak, and feeble. You become less and less capable of defending yourself, and you begin to look for ways you CAN protect yourself.”
“... And… That's where I come in?” He asks, seeing the girl rand next to the First Emperor.
“... No…”
“But, that's why I'm here, is it not? I'm here to protect you as you get older?”
“... No…” The First Emperor sighs. “You're not protecting me.”
“But-.... Who AM I protecting? I thought it was you.”
“Bodyguard, I made you, to protect her.” He pulls the girl close.
Bodyguard becomes surprised. “But! You made me, because you're getting old!”
“... Bodyguard… I made you, so you can protect my daughter…” He stands. He then rests his hands on the girl’s shoulders. He sighs once again. “Bodyguard, this is my daughter. Viorenla.”
“......... Viorenla…” Bodyguard blinks. He thinks back to last night. He felt something for this “Viorenla.” He felt this new emotion. He thinks he sees why he needs to protect her.
“You were made to protect Viorenla for a special reason you're not fit to understand yet. But, understand this… You MUST protect my little Viorenla with your life. She's important not only to me, but to everyone else.”
He's right… I don't understand yet… I don't even understand what protect is, but I will do it.
“I will protect Viorenla with my life, Loved One…” He finally answers as he kneels down. “This, I promise you…”
Viorenla sighs, and takes Bodyguard's hand yet again. She leads him out the door, as the First Emperor is heard exhaling deeply, and seen sitting back down on his bed.
“I'm sorry you had to be in that… I shouldn't have…” She says as she leads him through the halls.
“... It's okay. I, don't exactly understand what he said anyway.”
She giggles, and stops in place. She turns and gives him a quick kiss, and backs away. “BG, I'm gonna go do something really quick. Is that okay?”
“... But, I want to be with you… I need to protect you.”
She giggles once again, and starts floating off. “I know. I do too, but… I'll be just a moment.”
He watches as she floats off down the halls. He hears clapping behind him. He turns, and sees Mr. Bumbo, walking and clapping.
“WOW!” He exclaims. “You really did it! I never would've thought!”
“... Excuse me?”
“You got her to like you, kid! I’ve NEVER seen anyone do it that easily before!”
Bodyguard gives another confused look. Bumbo sighs. “Kid, you still don't even know what I'm talking about, don't you?”
“I've been told so much this morning.” He explains, “I've been told her name, and what my purpose truly is.”
Bumbo’s eyes widen. “Wow, again! You've really impressed me so far, kid! So, oh know of the bandits and stuff trying to get her and all that?”
Bodyguard’s eyes widen. He feels surprised. “What are bandits? Why do they want Viorenla?”
Bumbo’s eyes get even wider. His jaw drops. “Kid, if you're gonna be a bodyguard, you gotta be aware of the bad guys and stuff that go around here!”
Bodyguard blinks. He tilts his head.
“Uh oh…” Bumbo exhales. “Ay ay ay, kid... You got a lot coming to ya, don't you?”
What's going on? What even is bad? What does it mean?
“... Kid, follow me.” He gestures Bodyguard to follow, and walks away, leaving Bodyguard no other choice but to come with.
They walk through the city. Many, many people greeting Bumbo along the way. He doesn't respond. Instead, he tilts his large hat, and continues.
He takes Bodyguard to the edge. A place Bodyguard has never been before. He edge, of the City in the Skies. He looks down, and tries to lean over for a better look. Bumbo immediately grabs Bodyguard and yanks him back.
“Kid, this is the edge. Below is the surface world. There's a LOT of history that happened down there.”
Bodyguard look to Bumbo and makes a look of confusion. Bumbo just rolls his eyes.
“Lots go on down there. Hunts, wars, pillages, death.. Lots of things. Though, there's a lot of good that goes on down there, too, I'm just gonna talk about the not so great stuff first.”
Bumbo reaches into his pocket, and draws out a strange, metallic box-looking object. It looks complex and super detailed. He points the box down over the edge, and pulls a trigger. The box shoots an incredibly fast beam of light, Bodyguard reacts back and falls into his behind.
“... By now, I probably hit something…” Bumbo exclaims as he puts the strange object back in his pocket. “But, it don't matter.”
“What was that!?” Bodyguard exclaims, immensely surprised.
“It's a gun, kid. Lots of people here have it. But that's not the real topic here. What I was trying to prove with that is, they're dangerous. If you see anyone with something like it, and it's pointing right back at you, you gotta react.”
“... I don't understand. Define react.”
“It's to act quickly. That’s all it isn't.” Bumbo explains. “But, that's also not the topic here. What I'm REALLY trying to prove here is, there are some no good people out there, that have these contraptions, and they don't want to use them for good intentions.”
“What does this have to do with protecting Viorenla?”
“EVERYTHING!” Bumbo exclaims as he draws the gun out once again and fires into the air. “Kid, those people want to mean harm to Viorenla, and the First Emperor, and everyone in this city. When you see people like that some day, you gotta know how to react, and defend Viorenla. I'll show you how, but not today. Because I don't feel like it right now.”
“... Why do they want Viorenla?”
“Because Vio’s the princess, of course!” Bumbo exclaims yet again, and yet again fires the gun into the air. “She's heir to the throne, and when the First Emperor dies, she'll be the one to take his place! When she dies, there’ll be no Emperor, therefore no empire! We'll collapse!”
Bodyguard freezes. He doesn't even know how to process this information. He's heard too much too quickly. He looks down at his hands, and I starts shaking. Intensity in his eyes.
What!? What do you mean!? What are these guys!? What is bad!? What are bandits, what are guns, and what is empire!? What does Emperor even mean!? WHAT IS A PRINCESS!?
He feels a sudden hand go across his face. Bumbo towers over him and violently shake him back to the real world. “Get ahold of yourself, man! I know what I told you today was a lot, but you'll figure it all out eventually! Just, give some time of thought, and you start to understand, okay?”
Bodyguard blinks. He nods with an intense stare at Bumbo.
“Good.” Bumbo finally finished as he pats his hand on Bodyguard’s shoulder and gets up. “I'll leave out to it then!”
He wipes his hands on his coat, and sticks them in his pockets. “You know your way back?” Bumbo asks.
“Yes.” Bodyguard answers, “I do.”
“Good!” Then I'll see ya around, kid!” He says as he gives a quick salute goodbye and wobbles off.
Bodyguard just sits there. Staring. He stares off into space, trying to process all this information that's been given to him in less than even an hour of being awake.

Bodyguard, Chapter 9
He gets back to the Palace. He goes in. No one’s waiting for him, and he hears nothing echoing through the halls. He gets curious. He decides to wander.
The whole way back and through the halls, he's been thinking. Think of about everything Mr. Bumbo has recently told him. He thinks about the First Emperor. What does he mean by “dies?” What does “dies” even mean? And what about Viorenla? What is a princess? Why is she “heir to the throne?” What do those even mean? And “bad?” What does bad mean? How can you tell what bad is? He's learning, and for the first time, he feels like he doesn't want to.
“BG!?” He hears from down the halls. He easily recognizes the voice. He walks forward to find Viorenla.
“Oh, thank goodness! I was afraid you ran away!” She peeps with a bright and shining smile.
“Why would I do that? I don't even know how to run yet.”
“It's okay… I just… Thought I lost you…” She says, grabbing her arm and looking down.
“... I’m sorry.” Bodyguard blurts out.
“F-for what?” She asks, giving a new look.
“I shouldn't have followed Mr. Bumbo outside. He wanted to show me things… He told me things…”
Her facial expression changes entirely upon hearing that. She frowns and sighs, and hangs her head down between her shoulders. “What did he tell you…?”
“A lot. He told me too many things I don't understand… I don't know whether I want to understand or not…”
She looks back up. She floats closer to him. “... I should be the one who's sorry… I shouldn't have left you right there… You should've stayed with me like you wanted to… Like I wanted you to…
This time, he takes her hands. “No. I'm the one who's sorry. Not you.”
“... Okay…”
“What would you like to do today?” He suddenly asks.
Her eyes widen. “I-... I don't know! You've seen so much already, I don't know what else you can really see!”
“Then… Why don't we… Stop learning for a day?”
“Like… Take a break? Doing what?”
“Whatever you would like to do. You’ve spent so much of your time showing me things, why don't I show you something for once?”
“... Like… Like what?”
“Well…” Then he pauses.
… I don't have anything to show. I'm… Not interesting… I can't do anything…
Then he suddenly hears something. It echoes down the halls, and causes the door to shake. He looks around.
Viorenla suddenly panics. She gets go and quickly hovers down the halls. Bodyguard tries his best to catch up, but he watches as she does further and further away. He hears the sound again.
It's loud, and sounds like a large knock. But, it's not a knock. It sounds more, explosive.
The halls come to life. Dozens of life forms swarming the halls, all holding strange contraptions. The halls make a sound. A high pitched sound, that goes on and off every few seconds. Bodyguard quickly reacts. He looks around. He feels, concerned.
He spots the First Emperor. He, too is also carrying a large contraption.
“Loved One!” Bodyguard shouts.
“Go protect Viorenla, Bodyguard!” The First Emperor orders. And before Bodyguard could ask what's happening, the First Emperor is gone, and he hears another loud bang.
He speed walks down the halls. Searching every room for any sign of Viorenla. Viorenla’s the only thing on his mind. Not the bangs, not the First Emperor, but Viorenla.
He passes that room again… The dark room, with a violet object in the center. He shakes his head and continues further.
Then he finds her in her room. She's sitting on the foot of her bed, waiting.
“BG! She shouts. “What are you doing here!?”
“I-, I wanted to come here! I have to protect you!”
“BG, that's sweet and all, but why aren't you protecting the First Emperor!? He's in trouble! He can't fight off the invasion alone!”
“...”
Invasion?
“Invasion?”
“Yes! He could get hurt! You have to help him!”
That's when the window breaks down. Two strange hooded figures swing in. They grab Viorenla.
Bodyguard panics. He watches as they snatch her and drag her to the window. She screams. He freaks. He doesn't know what to do.
He must take action. He quickly grabs one of the figures and throws him aside. The figure trips back over the couch and falls head first into the floor.
Viorenla keeps squirming as the second figure stuffs her halfway out the window. He starts screaming something. A language Bodyguard doesn't understand.
Bodyguard dashes forward and grabs the second figure. The figure grabs him back, and they throw each other onto the floor. They roll over each other, and force each other back. Bodyguard goes for the hands, the figure goes for the neck.
The figure yells. Bodyguard looks confused. He takes Bodyguard’s head and tries to twist it, but is failing. The figure draws back, and Bodyguard does what the figure just did.
He takes the figure by the head, and twists.
The figure’s neck pops, but doesn't turn very much. Bodyguard takes his head, and throws him aside. The figure sits up, but resists fighting any longer. He grabs his knocked out friend, and they leave the room.
Bodyguard grabs Viorenla and pulls her back in. She stares, with a new look, and pulls Bodyguard close. He hears her doing something she's never heard before. He look down and sees clear liquid streaming down her face. He takes his hand, and wipes the liquid off her cheek.
“... Are you okay?” He asks.
She doesn't answer. She just keeps him close as they she tries to recover the traumatizing moment. Then she lets go, and takes him by the hand. They hurry down the halls, seeing both Bodyguard’s people, and several hooded figures taking stances and swinging objects at each other. He blinks.
She manages to sneak through the action, and makes it outside. Bodyguard sees what's going on.
Hooded figures flooding up and down the streets, strange lights filling up the air, and several screams and shouting can be heard. Bodyguard feels conceded, confused, and has dozens of thoughts going through his head. He sees a building suddenly light up, with a thunderous bang filling the skies.
“It's the Goronians! The raiders! They're attacking!” Viorenla screams as she runs down the streets. Bodyguard has never felt so overwhelmed. He sees several beings of both factions laying on the ground.
Now’s not the time to be sleeping! Especially in the streets like this!
He can see sole thing rising from the edge. Several massive and shiny structures raise up into the skies from below. They all have a strange oval shape, and several openings on the sides. The structures are spiked along the sides, and a massive mast sticks out from the top. Propellers swing from the bottom, lifting the structure up.
After the first rises, several more rise. They begin firing massive explosives down onto the buildings and highways. A gondola swings down from the ropes and crash into a highway. Hundreds of flashes fill the skies.
“Gorondian Airship!” Screams a creature from the carnage. “Everybody stay down!”
Viorenla keeps running, dragging Bodyguard along. He starts shaking once again. He lets go.
“BG! What are you doing!?” Viorenla asks, her face entirely changed.
Bodyguard freezes. He looks up. The skies have gone from Pink, to red and grey. He stares. His look completely new. He hasn't have a single idea what's going on, or why this is happening. He looks down to his hands. He drops to his knees. His eyes filled with intensity and desperation.
What is this!? Why is this happening!? Why so many laying down!? What are these flashes of light!? Why are there so many people!? So many sounds! ? WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN!? WHERE IS ALL OF THIS GOING!? WHY AM I-
Then he freezes. He stops. He looks down. His vision fades. His arms drop. He feels the now warm stone pressing against his face. He fades. He's empty. He's gone… And then… He sleeps…

Bodyguard, Chapter 10
[Initiating: Bodyguard_V.2.0, Model: BG-3.1]
“Bodyguard!? Please! You can't really be gone...”
“Please… It's urgent…”
His eyes slowly open. He sits up, rubbing his head. He looks around to see something far too familiar. He finds himself in the first room. He finds himself on the legged platform. He finds himself surrounded by dozens of organisms. This feels familiar.
“... What happened?”
He suddenly feels something. Small, and soft. He looks over to see Viorenla hugging him close. Her eyes once again streaming with tears, and her sounds of small inhaling, followed by small whimpers. He feels a hand on his shoulder. He looks up to see the First Emperor. His look is made of fear, and concern. It all changes to a smile.
“... Where are all the bandits?” Bodyguard asks.
“We drove them off. We're safe now.”
“But, what about the city? What happened to it?”
“We're rebuilding. The damage was not as critical as we expected. It was exactly what we had hoped for. We foresaw the victory, and we won.”
Damage? Critical? Rebuilding? Victory? Foresaw? What do all of those even mean?
“Bodyguard, I can see your face. I know you’re afraid, but don't be. It's all okay. It's over.” The First Emperor assures. His tone is calm and hopeful. Bodyguard is confused.
“... Are you okay? How long was I asleep?” He asks.
“You were out for three days. We brought you back home, and put let you rest.” The First Emperor answers.
Three days? What happened? Why was I gone for that long?
“Bodyguard, you froze… You were shot…” Viorenla whimpers.
“Shot?”
“Shot…” the First Emperor suddenly says. “A blast came from behind and struck the back of your head. You froze and fell because of it. But, you survived. I cannot tell you how astonished I am to see you up again. You truly are amazing.”
“... I fell asleep… The blast, it hit me, and I fell asleep…” Bodyguard says, with a shaky tone.
“But you're okay. Like it was foreseen, you survived. You can survive a blast go the back of the head. You’re special.” The Loved One quotes.
“... Define… Special…”
“You. Special, means you.”
He looks back down to Viorenla. Her face changed from when he last saw it. She's smiling. He rests his hand on her head, and smiles back.
The crowd goes nuts. Cheering, and whistling, and clapping all around. Bodyguard looks around. The people so full of happiness and hope. Excitement and determination. He feels everything they're feeling right now, and he's loving it. He gently moves Viorenla aside, and stands. The crowd is even happier. He feels new. He feels fresh, and clean, and pure. He feels like gold.

Bodyguard, Chapter 11
Days have past. Peace and happiness is finally restored once again. Bodyguard finally feels comfortable enough to explore once again. He feels more confident than ever. He loves this new life bestowed upon him. These days with Viorenla never cease to amaze him. He loves being with her. He loves her. They walk the city every day, always exploring and discovering. Always looking out for each other. Him watching her more than her watching him. He hasn't felt fear since that day, and it makes him feel happier than ever. This is his life, and it's perfect. It's gold.
The First Emperor helps the city recover. He helps Bodyguard with whatever he needs. Bodyguard helps back whenever he can. They've become the greatest of companions. The First Emperor is like a father to him.
He's never had to be concerned, or afraid. All he has to do is be himself, and look out for the ones he cares about most.
Aliern gives him system checks every once in awhile, and so far, he hasn't had any issues. He felt a sharp pinch in the back of his head once, but he's never had to worry.
Bumbo gives him little tips here and there about how to “make Viornela a keeper,” but he often ignored him or challenges him. They become good friends.
He's never had to worry…
The skies returned to their gorgeous Pink and white, and the Stars that watch from above is brighter and more beautiful than ever. The buildings have been rebuilt, and looks sturdier and stronger than ever. The world makes him feel determined.
He begins to take nightly walks with Viorenla as well. He's learned about the stars, and the moons in the night sky. He met the other two moons the planet shares, and the two decide to name them themselves. One is small. It's the tiniest of the four. Bodyguard chooses to name it Viorenla. The other is the second smallest, and Viorenla decides to name it BG. He doesn't question why she calls it BG instead of his full name, but he gets slightly curious every now and then. Yet, he doesn't mind either.
Viorenla and her Bodyguard. Bound to feel a special bond eventually.
They stop by the fountain. The fountain with the Viorenla statue on it. They stand onset the same street light when they first kiss, and they do it again.
The next morning, they roam the palace together. And the day after that, they stay in bed together.
Several more weeks go by. Five months after Bodyguard’s first awakening.
Viorenla begins acting worried. He doesn't know why, or what she's doing, or where she's going every time she asks him to stay put. After a while, he begins to worry as well. Sometimes he'd try to follow her, she'd disappear. She's good at doing that.
Then, after an even longer while, he begins to notice a pattern. He follows her, and he stops. He watches her sneak into the room.
The dark room, with the violet object in the center. And the strange object in the back.
Every time, he'd try to go in, but then he feels compelled not to. He keep pushing it off his shoulder. He ignores it.
Yet another weekpasses. It's starting to become repetitive. Now, every time they head into the palace, she always goes into the room to check on whatever’s in there.
Then, he's finally had enough. He's too curious. And honestly, her constant disappearing is starting to worry him. He needs to see what's in there. And he needs to see tonight.
That night, they're walking down the street. The same street they've been walking the last few nights.
“... Does this feel… Repetitive to you?” Viorenla asks.
“Only sometimes.” Bodyguard answers, looking down to her. “Why do you ask?”
“I was just thinking… Maybe we should try a new route sometime!”
“I’d love that.” Bodyguard answers, smiling at the roads ahead of him.
They keep walking. A sudden silence growing between them. Bodyguard is thinking, and Viorenla is happily floating along. Viorenla breaks the silence.
“What are you thinking right now? You look emotionless.. Like when you first woke up…”
“... I'm thinking..” Bodyguard answers, trying to conceal his straight face. “I'm thinking of you…”
Viorenla just blinks and blushes. She stares at BG with an unknowing smile.
“I think about you all the time. It's almost like I have to.”
Viorenla stops, and pulls him close. She goes in for a quick kiss, and they keep walking.
“... You didn't have to do that…” Bodyguard says abruptly.
“I know! But I wanted to!” Viorenla responds with, now skipping along.
“...”
He tries not to say anything.
Don't… Say… Anything…
“So… Where do you go to everyday after our walks?”
… Shoot…
Viorenla stops. She turns and look to BG. “I… Just go to my father’s room, is all… He wants to talk to me every day after our walks to see what they were about.”
“... And what of that dark room? The one with the violet object?”
Viorenla freezes. She lowers her head.
“... I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say anything! I was just- curious is all!”
Viorenla holds up her hand. “No, it's okay… That room… It's not important…”
This is BG’s chance of redemption. “Okay.” He says. “Let's go back to talking about you. I enjoy talking about you.”
Vio’s head perks up, and she blushes once again. They continue their nightly route, and talk all the rest of the way…
Later that night, Bodyguard stays awake in bed. He stares up at the ceiling, thinking.
… The dark room… Why is it here? Why am I scared to go in?
He slowly shakes his head. He turns and sees Viorenla, calmly sleeping the night away. He sits up.
The corridors are dark. They feel darker than usual. He feels something new. He ignores it.
He turns a corner, and there it is… A dark room, pitch black due to the hallway lights being shut off. He cautiously approaches. Step-by-step, he gets closer. He sees it. It's right there. But, it's going away. The halls stretch. The corridors become a void, and he's getting lost in it. He pushes on. He can see it. It's right there. It’s… Making a sound. It's whispering to him. Telling him to come closer… Closer…
Closer. . .
He feels it. The door frame. He blinks and turns his head. The halls look normal. Back to the way they looked before. He looks back into the room. He can faintly see it. The violet object. It's right there. He goes in.
The room is dark. Too dark to see himself. He doesn't care.
[Brightening eyesight. . .]
His eyes adjust. He can see the room clearly.
… How did I do that?
The violet object in the center is encased it a glass dome. It's violet on the top, and green on the bottom. The green looks like a thin stick, but wavy and has thorns. Larger, flat specks of green stick out on the sides, and it’s buried into something brown. The brown looks like crumbs, or pebbles, but much smaller, and the coloring is stranger. He looks up to the violet. The violet spreads out in all directions. It's elegant form looks like feathers, formed into the shape of long, flowing hair. Spread in all directions, yet also hanging down. Bodyguard touches the glass. He wants to see it closer…
“... It's called a flower…” He hears deeper into the room.
He jumps back. He sees further in the room.
It's a bed. The object behind the “flower” all this time, was a bed. A woman lays on it. Her skin an unhealthy, pale light blue, and her face looking wrinkled and poor. Her eyes are barely open, and he can see they're looking right into his. He decides to remain silent.
“But It's more importantly called, a Viorenla flower…” She speaks.
“...” Bodyguard remains silent.
“The last of it’s kind… The most beautiful flower in the surface world… Doesn't it look just like her?”
“... Viorenla?”
“... Yes…”
He takes a closer look. The stem is actually a more teal, and the petals flowing down. Exactly like Viorenla’s hair. “Yes… Yes it does…”
“This flower, was found on the surface world… it took my husband thirty years to find it, and pick it for me…”
“... Husband?”
“My husband… The First Emperor… I am the Queen... The Loved One’s lover… I assume you must be Bodyguard…?”
“Yes.”
“My, my… You are truly a thing of beauty… Just like they say…” She says, with her eyes, eyes cold and flat.
“They?”
“Viorenla, and my Husband… Viorenla talks about you all the time…”
Bodyguard tenses up.
She.. Talks about me?
“Bodyguard… It'd like tell you something…” she suddenly says.
“Anything.” He answers. He stands full body towards the Queen, and listens.
“Bodyguard… Do they ever tell you about me?”
“... No… They don't…”
She turns her head a slight ways. “... Oh… That's okay… I forgive them… I can foresee why they wouldn't…”
Forgive… I've heard that word before…
“Bodyguard…” She coughs. “Bodyguard… I'm dying… Isn't that such a beautiful thing…?”
Dying… Dying……
“Yes… Dying… I can see by the look of your face, you don't know what that is…” She speaks, with a small smile.
“I don't… Do I want to know?”
“Death… Is a beautiful thing… It's all a part of life… It's when your journey, comes to an end, and you rest in peace, knowing you've made the most beautiful creations in the world… You, and Viorenla…”
“Me? Why me?”
“Because you are perfect… The perfect being… You were made to be beautiful, and I can see now that my husband made a magnificent job…”
“...”
“It's confusing, I know… But get this… Before death, there is life… But death is the greatest thing you can ever have… Live your life. Embrace it. Be beautiful like you were made to be… Then die happy… Knowing you are beautiful…”
Tears well up in her eyes. She smiles and gestures for Bodyguard to move closer. Bodyguard does so. Each step is lighter and lighter. He can feel her slow, cold breathing.
She tries to lift up her head, but can't. He leans down. She takes his head to pull herself up.
She kisses his forehead. He can feel a sudden warm sensation. He feels life. He feels the world around him turning, and he can feel love. The most love he's ever felt in his life.
She loves the world. She loves her life. She loves the world… She loves her life… She's made of pure love.
She lets go… And she rests her head back down in her pillow. And she closes her eyes. The tears stop coming, and she smiles, once again.
“You’ve just made my life complete… I've seen all beauty life has to offer… Beauty, it the greatest thing you can have in life…”
She stops moving. Her hands rested on her chest, and her smile slowly fading.
He feels the need to rest his hand on hers. His mind goes blank. His vision slowly fades.
I thought death was the greatest thing to have in life...

Bodyguard, Chapter 12
“Bodyguard!?”
His eyes open. He jumps awake. He stands straight up.
“Yes! What!?”
“Bodyguard… Why are you in there…?”
He panics. He realizes where he is. He looks down. He sees her. The Queen. There she lies, motionless, but still happy. He gently lets go of her hands.
He looks out the room. Viorenla stands, hands against her chest. Tears welling in her yes. “BG… Did she…?”
He looks back down. “...”
What am I supposed to say…? Is she… Gone?
“Yes… She’s gone…”
Viorenla throws her head down into her hands. She starts sobbing. The First Emperor comes rushing in. “What's going on!?”, he says.
“The Queen… She saw beauty, and she accepted it…”
The First Emperor charges is. He shoves Bodyguard aside and freezes. He closes his eyes and gently rests his hands on her chest. “... She is… The Queen… Is gone…”
He turns to Bodyguard. “How long were you in here for?”
“A-all night, loved one. She called to me, so I came. She talked to me… She called me beautiful… She called Viorenla beautiful… Then, she froze…”
Bodyguard slowly nods, acceptance is his eyes. “Then… She did not die in vain…”
He bends down and lifts her up in her bed. As he passes by, he removes the glass casing from the Viorenla flower, and picks it. He rests it his the Queen’s hands, and carries her out the door. By now, Viorenla’s on the floor bawling.
Bodyguard goes to comfort her. He sits by her and pulls her close, petting her hair.
They sit there for hours… While the First Emperor takes the Queen to her final resting place…”

Bodyguard, Chapter 13
Days have passed. Viorenla remained silent for a quarter of those days, and The First Emperor remained silent for all of them. In fact, he’s locked himself in the Queen’s room for half of those days, and has not yet come out.
Aliern visits him every once in awhile, and comes it the same. With the First Emperor not following behind.
Bodyguard hasn't even met the woman before. And he's only talked to her for a few minutes, but he's felt a strange connection with the Queen. She's taught him much, and he's understood it all.
He and Viorenla still do their walks, but they haven't felt the same. That's when he realizes Viorenla needs to recover. She needs him more than ever. From then on forward, he vows to stay with her. For the rest of her days.
“Viorenla?” He asks.
She remains silent, but he can tell she's listening.
“... Come with me.”
This time, he takes her hand. And he leads her across the city. He takes her to a new place. One he's explored once on his own. It's a balcony, hanging on the edge of the City in the Skies. She stares off into the sky.
“... Viorenla.” Bodyguard speaks firmly.
Viorenla turns, and looks into his eyes. “Yes?”
Bodyguard takes her hands, and steps forward.
“Viorenla… I'm different.”
“Don't say that…”
“But I am. And we all know it. I was made to protect you. I was made so you can live on, unlike the Queen.”
Viornela blushes. She doesn't want to hear this. He can tell.
“I want to protect you with my life. I will stay by your side, and live as long as you live. I will defend you. I will care for you. I'll be your shoulder to cry on from now on.”
“What are you trying to say out of all of this!?” She shouts.
“Viornela…”
The sun begins to set.
“I just want to say… All this time we've been together…”
“.. You don't have to say it…”
“Viorenla, I love you.”
“... Bodyguard, you don't even know the definition of love.”
“But I do. It comes from inside you. It's what you feel towards the ones you want to stay with. The ones that are most important to you.”
“... BG…”
“Viornela.” Bodyguard repeats. “I love you. Whether you think not otherwise, I will always love you.”
He pulls her in, and then they kiss. They stand together until the stars go down. Until it's midnight. The entire time, staying together as one.
They stop, and they look into each other's eyes.
“BG…” Viorenla suddenly states. “I'm not going to live forever… But… You will…”
“Of course not. Don't say that. I'll stay with you for as long as you live. We will go together.”
“Bodyguard… You're a robot…”
… What?
“... A… A robot?” He asks.
“Yes.” She answers. “A robot… Built to last forever… To live longer than we do… You're immortal, and I'm… I'm not… I'm gonna go someday. And you'll leave me behind. I can foresee it… I'll see you at home, Bodyguard… I'm gonna go…”
She lets go, and he watches her float off. He begins slowly walking home himself.
He snakes through the dark, dimly lit cities. The buildings towering over him like they're watching his shame.
“… If death is the most beautiful thing in life… Then why do I hate it?” He thinks to himself out loud.
“Well because death is a desirable thing among other beings…” Answers something from an alleyway.
Bodyguard twirls around. He can't see anything in the darkness.
“Who's there?” He shouts. “Show yourself!”
“Oh, if you say so…” Speaks the voice.
He emerges from the shadows. He's a hooded figure. Looking exactly like the bandits from the raid.
“What!? What are YOU doing here!?”
“Trust me, I'm a friend…” The figure assures. “I can't do any harm to you.
“But, you're one of the enemies! The ones who attacked my home! How could you possibly be a friend?”
“We may not be friends now, but we could be in the future!” The cloaked figure speaks. He reaches for the hood, and pulls it back.
He’s tall, and has the face kind of like a metal bird. He’s dirty, but he looks like he doesn't care. His face is in the shape of a horn pointed upside down. It's flat on the front, but looks like the back of a skull on the back. He takes the cloak off. He's metallic, like bodyguard.
“What-!? You’re- you're like me!”
“Yes! Like me! A robot! An immortal being made of metal and wires!” The figure says throwing his hand in the air in surprise.
“What!?” Bodyguard snaps, standing in his first ever offensive position.
“Relax… I'm not going to harm you! Trust me, I'm a friend. And these people are your friends, too. I can see that.”
“Yeah! They are! So why you don't you step off our city and join your REAL friends!?”
“Because they abandoned me.”
“Define abandoned!” Bodyguard challenges.
“Oh, so you're one of THOSE robots, eh?” The figure asks. He checks his nails. “Abandoned. They left me behind after the attack.”
“Why would they do that?” Bodyguard asks, lowering his guard.
“Like I know. Guess I just wasn't wanted. It happens all the time.”
“But… So…”
What do I do?
“Who- ... Who are you!?” Bodyguard asks with intensity in his eyes.
“Oh yeah! Guess you don't know me! My name’s Prazleous. I'm a robot built by the Gorondians.” He answers with a bow.
“Why did the Gorondians want to hurt my people!?” Bodyguard asks.
“Because we're poor, of course! We need to attack places to get food and resources we can't collect ourselves!”
Poor… Haven't I heard that before?
Bodyguard stands straight. He decides to change the subject. “... I'm a robot?”
“Yes. A mechanical being made to do what they were supposed to do. They're like organisms, but they do what they're told.”
“... I am told to protect Viorenla. What are you made to do?”
“Wait, protect Viorenla? In that room? It what was YOU!? The one who threw me over the couch!?”
“... That was you?”
“Yes! That freakin hurt you JERK!”
“... Sorry…”
“But yeah. That was me. I'm made to do stuff like that.”
“I see…”
They hear something approaching.
“Quickly, I haven't much time left! What else do you want to know!?” Prazleous asks.
“Umm... UMM…”
“Too late! I gotta go! We’ll meet again soon!”
“Bodyguard?” Asks an organism approaching. “What are you doing here?”
“I was-...” He says as he turns to find Prazleous gone. “... I was on my way back.”
“Ah,” says the organism. “Very well. The First Emperor was beginning to worry. I shall take you home, then!”
Bodyguard nods, and checks on the alleyway one last time. Pitch black… He can't see anything… He, and the organism both start heading back to the palace.

Bodyguard, Chapter 14
He gets home. He thanks the organism for the escort home and closes the palace door. He turns around. The palace lights are dimmed.
“What's going on?” He thinks aloud.
He wanders the halls. Searching for anyone who’s still awake. He wanders into a room. Bumbo’s in it. He turns upon hearing Bodyguard come in. He wipes a tear off his cheek.
“Oh… Hey Kid…” Bumbo says as he turns back around.
“Is… Something the matter, Mr. Bumbo?”
“I'm okay, Kid… Just… Get back to bed… Viorenla’s probably waiting for you…”
“Mr Bumbo, you're sad. Why is that?”
Bumbo sighs and turns and stands. He faces Bodyguard with his hat off. “Kid… My village was burned down today…”
“Village…? Burned?”
“Yeah, Kid… My home… All my people… I lived down on the surface world, you know…”
All this time, Mr. Bumbo lived in the surface world?
“Your village was down there…? Was it attacked?”
Bumbo nods with his eyes closed. “Burned down to the ground… There were no survivors… All my people were slaughtered, and I was up here drinking and dancing without even knowing it…”
“...”
“They… I, am the last of my people… You'll never get to see anyone like me again…” Bumbo states, wiping more tears off his eyes.
“... I saw someone like me tonight, Mr. Bumbo…”
“... Like you?”
“Yes. Another robot. He was tall, and thin. And his face was in an odd shape. His name was Prazleous, and he was a Gorondian.”
“There's a Gorondian in the city!?” Bumbo says. His mood changing right away.
“He didn't attack me. He said I was his friend.”
“... That's not right… No one’s ever friends with the Gorondians…”
I shouldn't have changed the subject. Now he’s going to send someone out to search for the Gorondian.
“Yes.” Bodyguard responds with. “It is… But… Back to you…”
Bumbo doesn't question Bodyguard's sudden desire to go back to the first topic. He sits down with his legs crossed. “Right…”
“What will you do, Mr. Bumbo?”
“I have one option…” Bumbo answers, “I'm gonna move. I'm going off planet to a place called ‘Linkrem.’ It's where I'm going to stay from now on.”
“Linkrem?”
“Yeah… It's a place of wealthy and poor. It's got people like me there. I own a place there, so I'll fit right in. It's a big place…”
“I'd like to see this ‘Linkrem’ someday, if you wouldn't mind.”
Bumbo smiles. He stands and pats Bodyguard on the shoulder. “Yeah, kid… I'd love to show you some day. Maybe soon, depending on if I really can stay there.”
Bodyguard nods, and Bumbo takes his hand off.
“Mr. Bumbo?” Bodyguard asks.
“Yeah, kid? How can I help?”
“You're the only other species I've actually seen, other than the robot. How many other species are down there on the surface world?”
“Oh, tons, kiddo! There's was the Todallians, like me, the Gorondians, which are weird, skinned creatures, and lots of others. There's even more on Linkrem, too!”
“That's fascinating, Mr. Bumbo! There must be a lot of life out there in the world!”
“Oh, the whole universe, kid! And I can show you all of them! You and me? We can go on adventures, kid! You and I, against the universe!”
“...... Universe…?”
“Oh… You haven't learned that, yet…?”
“No, Mr. Bumbo… I haven't…”
“That's okay, kid! I'll show you some day! Along with Viorenla, and maybe the First Emperor, if he lives long enough, and Aliern, and much more! I want to show everyone that we’re just punt specs in a massive, well, everything!”
…… Wow…
“Mr. Bumbo! That sounds amazing!” Bodyguard exclaims in his excitement.
“I know! Aren't I!?”
They laugh, and spend the rest of the night talking. Bodyguard… laughs…

Bodyguard, Chapter
The next morning, Bodyguard meets everyone in the dining hall. They're all eating breakfast, and he decides to join them. He takes a seat, and everyone faces him and smiles.
“Good morning, Bodyguard!” The First Emperor exclaims.
“Good morning, Loved one!” Bodyguard replies. Joy in his tone. “You're finally back!”
“All thanks to Viorenla’s passionate words…” He replies with a small smile.
“...” One organism looks at him suspicious. “You're not planning on eating my entire meal like you did those last few months ago, are you?” He squints his eyes while sliding his plate away from Bodyguard.
“Nope! I don't think I need to eat, so I'm okay!” Bodyguard replies with a smile spread across his face.
Bumbo comes in next and sits down. He looks to Bodyguard with smile and a wink.
“Uhh, First Emperor, sir…” Bodyguard suddenly asks.
“How can I help you, Bodyguard?” The First Emperor asks, just stuffing another bite of food into his mouth.
“Mr. Bumbo and I have been talking last night.”
“That explains why I didn't see you in bed this morning…” Viorenla speaks with a short grin on her face.
“Yes. She's been talking to me about Linkrem, and the Universe, and all the millions of species out there!”
“Yes, Bodyguard… The universe is a big place…”
“Wait, ‘she?’ Did YOU just-!?” Bumbo asks. Viorenla’s eyes open wide and she giggles.
“Yes! Yes it is!” Bodyguard exclaims. “She's been talking to me about Linkrem, and how she's going to move there!”
The First Emperor’s eyes grow wide next. He tries to take a sip of a glass of liquid. Aliern looks to the group talking.
“Kid, why are you saying she!?” Bumbo asks. Bodyguard ignores the question.
“She has a ship, and she's going on an adventure!” BG-3 speaks. Standing and pressing his hands against the table.
“Now now, Bodyguard… Calm down…” an organism says.
“I would like to go with him! And bring you, and Viorela along with us!”
The First Emperor spits his drink out, soaking Bodyguard. “You… You want what!?”
“I- … I would like to go with Bumbo to see Bumbo’s new home…?” He says, unsure now that he has liquid spilled all over him.
Viorenla’s laughing.
“Kid, why am I a ‘she’ all of a sudden!?” Bumbo abruptly says next.
Viorenla’s laughing even harder. She rests her hands on the table and slams her first against it multiple times.
“Viorenla told me you were a girl a long time ago! Is… Is that not true?”
“WHAT!?” Bumbo exclaims, throwing himself off the chair and falling onto the ground. He quickly stands and points a finger to BG, then to Viorenla. “Is this some kind of joke!?”
“Well, no… Viorenla told me you were, since I Couldn't identify Todalian genders, Viorenla told me you were a... Girl…?”
Viorenla's dying of laughter. She's rolling on the floor, holding a cramp in her stomach.
“It IS some kind of joke! Vio, you're gonna get it! Come here!”
Bumbo gets up from his seat, and Vio bolts. The First Emperor’s just sitting there, watching this all go down. He patiently sips his drink.
Bodyguard sits there, confused.
“Bodyguard,” the First Emperor says over the shouting and laughing. “I'm not sure it would be safe for you to go…”
“But I want to!” Bodyguard shouts. “I want to go on this adventure!”
The First Emperor sighs. “Bodyguard… The universe is an amazing place, but it won't always be safe… It never was…”
“I'm sure I'll be okay! I'm a Bodyguard, after all!” He stand and points a thumb to himself, with a heroic pose. “I'll make sure Viorenla stay safe!”
“... Bodyguard… You don't know even how to fight…”
… What?
He lowers his arms. “Huh? Define fight…”
“Self defense. To know how to truly protect yourself.”
“Then I want to know how to fight, so I can truly protect Viorenla, so I can go on this adventure!”
“...” The First Emperor looks like he's in deep thought. “... In due time, you will learn…”
“But, I learned plenty! I know how to jump, run, spin, I know a lot! How much difference is there to fighting?”
“Quite a bit, Bodyguard…” Loved One says as he sets his drink down. “Fighting requires skill, and a strong heart.”
“I can have both of those! You can teach me!”
First Emperor just sits there… He shakes his head. Bodyguard stands there. He nods his head.
“Loved One, you've taught me much! I want you to teach me how to fight! For you, for Viorenla, for the sake of adventure!”
He sighs… “... Very well, Bodyguard… I will teach you… But it will be rough, and difficult, and you may not like it.”
“You're serious, First Emperor!?” Aliern chimes in, “You're gonna teach him!?”
“It's what he wants… And I can foresee him doing great… He's ready.” He says, then looks to Bodyguard. His face becomes stern. “We begin today. This afternoon.”
Bodyguard is suddenly knocked down. He shakes his head to see Bumbo’s butt pressed against his chest after being shoved down by Viorenla.
“Oh, oh! Kid! I didn't- aw, jeez! Sorry about that, kid!”
Bodyguard blinks. He tries to look over to Viorenla. He sees her rolling on the floor, holding her stomach. He hears the First Emperor suddenly chuckle. “As for now, Bodyguard, let's enjoy our meal, shall we?”
Bodyguard smiles. He looks around the dining hall to see everybody else laughing and enjoying breakfast. He can see the warmth of the sunlight shine across his face as many organisms open the windows of the hall. He laughs himself. It's a party of laughter and enjoyment. Bumbo still hasn't gotten off his chest.
