I liked Pokemon back in the late 90s.
I don't like these new ones that have been showing. The new Pokemon don't look as natural as the original 150, so you could say the series lost my attention after Pokemon Gold and Silver.
We do have a user named Mew who's a big Pokemon fan, but he kinda dropped off the map recently, but he could be lurking.

Used to love the show, actually followed it through G&S, but abandoned it when it took like 5 episodes to get to each gym, and multiple seasons per region (it gets beyond tedious). And the new stuff, well, blech. Still, I do enjoy the games.

Same here. The anime does get old and stale rather fast.

I had a big crush on Misty... when I was 14.
My favorite Pokemon was Charizard.

I've always been a Pikachu fan. (and Pichu. and Raichu...) The games are better than the anime.

The dying breath of the Pokemon series was Diamond and Pearl. It was all good up to Emerald, and everything after that is completely uninteresting.
I like the fact that Gold and Silver are getting the Fire Red and Leaf Green treatment; Heart Gold and Soul Silver on the DS.

They're either going to arrive during the end of this year or early next year.

I like the fact that Gold and Silver are getting the Fire Red and Leaf Green treatment; Heart Gold and Soul Silver on the DS. I never played Diamond and Pearl, btw. First, do we really need to keep updating? We got an update with Crystal and Yellow, and then we keep remaking? Also, the DS isn't the right platform for Pokemon. Pokemon's a quintessential Game Boy game, and most games on other platforms have suffered. Look at Stadium and Colesseum, along with that totally pointless game Dash (it wasn't even a good idea (foot racing never works), and was less engaging than even a mini-game).

A friend of mine told me that the creators planned on going on with the series until they reached one thousand, but honestly, I don't know if it's true or not.
You don't need to play Diamond or Pearl. You're not missing anything except really stupid creature design this time around and Pokemon's most whored-out character, Lucario. It's frightening to know how much porn of him exists...I won't go into detail.
What makes the DS a bad platform? Sure, it's as you said, a Game Boy game at heart, but the DS lets you trade Pokemon wirelessly across the internet and participate in trainer battles the exact same way. That is, if you wasted your money on Diamond and Pearl.
Over time, they're going to run out of things with which to name the games. What's next? Pokemon Boron and Helium? They've already used colors, metals, jewels, and minerals, so I figured the next step was elemental gases.

A friend of mine told me that the creators planned on going on with the series until they reached one thousand, but honestly, I don't know if it's true or not. Wouldn't be surprised, honestly. It's frightening to know how much porn of him exists...I won't go into detail. ...? Really? I mean, I get rule 34, but alot of it? That's...awkward. Plus, he's just a less awesome version of Mewtwo in Smash. What makes the DS a bad platform? Sure, it's as you said, a Game Boy game at heart, but the DS lets you trade Pokemon wirelessly across the internet and participate in trainer battles the exact same way. That is, if you wasted your money on Diamond and Pearl. Other than wireless and graphics, they make pretty much no use of the DS (or it's pointless, from what I've heard). Plus, the spinoffs are terrible, and also the fact that you can still plug the GBA game into your DS (unless it's got an i), makes it pointless. Less so bad (but, the console ones were bad other than graphical overhauls), but pointless. Over time, they're going to run out of things with which to name the games. What's next? Pokemon Boron and Helium? They've already used colors, metals, jewels, and minerals, so I figured the next step was elemental gases. Based on the rediculous of names like Soul Silver, I also wouldn't be surprised. And, for some reason, I picture Helium featuring all chibi versions of Pokemon.

If you've ever paid attention to Sonic, you'd know that it's the same case with Tails. Lucario is basically the Tails of Pokemon. Let's...not talk about this. I hate them both enough already.
It's not entirely pointless. The DS is the Game Boy of today. Since they're not going to make any new iterations of the Game Boy, the DS is the only place left for the Pokemon franchise to continue. True, the spinoffs are abominations at heart (except Puzzle League on the N64, which was a truly addicting and well-designed puzzle game), but you don't have to buy them or acknowledge their existence. Heart Gold and Soul Silver are just the Gold and Silver games given graphic overhauls. Add one or two things here and there and you've got games that are not only older than Diamond and Pearl, but better than them. I'm planning on buying them.
Over time they're going to just stop caring what they name the games. Eventually we'll see Pokemon Crap and Pokemon Crap with Different Monsters.

Puzzle League was awesome, but then again, it wasn't originally a Pokemon spin off. EG: Tetris Attack
