Vega slapped the side of her head, grumbling to herself.
"Great. I'm hearing voices in my head." she said.
"Vega, honey, I'm sorry to interrupt you, but, does this place have a force-feild? 'Cause there a ship heading straight for us!" Eric exclaimed, grabbing Vega's arm.
Vega transformed the left side of her head into a phone-like reciever, and spoke into it.
"Attention to Royal Palace security. Activate force-sheilds! Repeat, activate force-sheilds!"
The force-sheilds pulsed upwards, connecting togeather at the top spire of the palace.
"We do now!" Vega said with a smile.
"What will happen to the ship?" Eric asked, with Vega taking his hand and both of them walking back to the balcony.
"Either the pilot will have excellent flying skills and advoid it...or the ship will explode on impact."
"Ouch."

Jenny saw the force field and her heart dropped. She opened a comm-link, hoping Vega would hear her in time. "Vega!" She shouted, "It's Jenny, I need you to lower the force field, we're trying to land our ship!"

"Wha...." Vega's mouth dropped open. "Oh my Cog... Jenny's on that ship!"
"What the hell?!" Eric said increduiously.
The Qieen of Cluster Prime then regained her senses and issued another order.
"Lower the force-sheilds! That's an order! I don't care that I just raised them; lower them now!" Vega barked into her head-phone.
A powering-down-type-of-whine sounded, and the sheilds dissapated with a burst of sparkles.
"Jenny, can you hear me? There'a a hanger a little to-the-right of the palace. Can you steer the ship there? If not, just aim the ship at the right Cluster-hive; not the left or center, the right. Crash there if you need to. It's mom's room, we've been thinking of renovating the place anyways." Vega said.

Alex's voice kicked into the conversation from the console.
"Alright, I think we can steer this thing into the hanger! We have a man on the ground, though, who it would be best to let in. Wearing a trenchcoat...I'll relay to him to go to the main entrance, if that's all right with you, your Majesty....."
*BOOM*
"...*hiss....we're okay, just another rocket! We're coming in for a hard landing, so you may want to clear the hangar area of all personnel!"
*****
The original Alex had climbed aboard the ship behind Gene....although the only thing to give him away was a shimmer that could only be seen when looking for it.
He knew that because he had supported Vega before, Vexus might be reluctant to accept his help. But he had to get to Cluster Prime, to help settle the conflict.....and maybe even bring an end to his own problems.
He sat himself down in one of the engine maintenance rooms, and waited, remaining invisible to just about anybody.

Champ braced himself for impact as several nearby explosions rocked the ship. He glanced over at Azure, who was staring intently at the battle outside. She wore an odd expression, but before Champ could ask what was going through her head, she turned to him. "Is it always this dangerous?" She asked. "Yes," He said, solemnly. She grinned, turning back to watch the struggle outside. "Good," She whispered.

Jakob didn't get an answer, so he figured he'd kill the first one to shoot him.
A plasma shot whizzed past his head, almost close enough to do damage. That did it.
His SMG was out, and he was taking quick shots at targets he labeled as "enemies." He's in the dark right now, so he won't take any chances.
Four Cluster-like robots in a squad. All of them seeming to panic when their fifth member exploded in a hail of plasma shots, from Jakob, of course. They were not quick enough to escape the same fate.
Even at night, the city was well-lit... At least until some power centres of assorted Cluster Sectors apparently got sabotaged. Darkness flooded the city.
In the darkness, Jakob took cover, and slipped a finger under his helmet. There was a click, and his visor lit up, illuminating almost anything in front of him. His own personal flashlight.
He kept low, and moved onward. Save for his glowing visor and the occasional firefighting between Cluster Drones, the entire sector of Cluster Prime was pitch-black.

"Don't be so modest." Alex chuckled from the front. "It gets worse than this....though I guess you'd be glad for that. The excitement of it all....." he trailed off, having to steer away from a chunk of a building falling near them.
They came down hard, jostling everything in the ship, scraping against the floor of the space.
Alex shook himself off.
"Everybody OK?" he asked.

Built for this situation. Built for this situation. Built for this situation.
The words pounded into Jakob's mind. It was the truth, after all.
He found no glory, no excitement, no emotion as he shredded enemy contacts to ribbons. He was built for this sort of thing. It's normal for him.
Most Cluster bots who proved that they were allies seemed almost shocked when Jakob curb-stomped one that was already downed, or blew away others that already "surrendered."
They're robots. They can be rebuilt, just like him. Waste of scrap if they're being pulled into a real combat situation without the preparation.
Clip ran dry. Jakob pulled out the empty magazine and winged it at an enemy target before grabbing a second and slapping it home. He squeezed the trigger and watched the enemy get torn apart from the head down.
How many kills now...? Twenty-one. Four allied Cluster are holing up at a makeshift guard post, waiting for other squads to link up.
Jakob left them there. They should be able to hold off any small attack by themselves. The big fish were still out there.
He rounded a corner, and caught a glimpse of a flash before he took cover again. The whoosh of a sniper round punched into the wall opposite from Jakob.
Sniper. Fourth floor. He's got some kind of visor that allows him to see a distance in the dark.
Jakob hefted his sniper rifle in exchange for his SMG, took quick aim and fired.
The enemy drone didn't know what hit him.
Training... Training... Training. Twenty-four years-worth. Nearing twenty-five. These were generic soldiers, not superheroes. Jakob felt relatively thankful. Less rounds wasted.
He swapped the sniper rifle for his assault rifle. Longer range than the SMG. Would be good for the streets.
Said streets were darker than imaginable, save for the occasional explosions in the sky.

"More than fine," Jenny said, smiling as she got out of her seat. Champ followed her example, speaking up as he headed for the door. "Alright, Jenny and Azure, you should go find Vega," He said, "I'm going to help Jakob." He sighed, opening the door and slowly drawing his sword. He paused just for a moment to look back at his friends, then took off into the fray.

"*sigh*....alright. I guess I'll go with you guys to go see Vega. She knows to let Jakob in, so it shouldn't be too long before he shows up anyway." Alex said.
The excitement had worn off. Sure, they'd be fighting again soon, but first there'd be some sort of bussiness to take care of.
He shut down the ship, jumped out the door, and locked it by internal remote as the others began walking toward their destinations.

"Portal in range," the drone pilot announced. "Destination locked. Exiting subspace in 3... 2... 1..." As suddenly as it disappeared from Earth's skies, the ship reappeared in orbit around Cluster Prime. "Okay, we're here."
"Wow. That was fast," Gene said, a bit of nausea in his voice. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to pull my lungs out of my rectum."
"The space shear got to you, huh, human? That's why we don't use the portals for civilian transport. But Her Majesty wanted you here ASAP, and she assured me you'd be able to handle the strain."
"Yeah, well, as long as I'm not making any other jumps like that in the near future, I'll be fine. So what now? Who do we contact about a landing spot?"
"We go straight to the top," the drone says. He punches a button on his console and starts talking into a mic. "Attention, Queen Vega! Attention, Queen Vega! This is Cluster Drone number Tango Hotel X-ray 1138. I come in the name of Her Majesty, Queen Vexus of the Old Empire. Her Majesty wishes to provide some assistance to fight off this invasion. I'm currently in low orbit, escorting an Earthling commando Her Majesty has recruited to help you. Request permission to land and unload the Earthling. Over!"

"Look, whioever you are, just land at the spaceport, and come to the palace. We'll sort this out when you arrive." Vega spoke into her head-phone.
Eric cut in, pulling Vega's head close to his mouth.
"I swear, if you do anything to my wife, I'm gonna kick your thorax so hard your ancestors eill feel it!"

The street was dark when Champ reached it. He took advantage of the shadows, crouching behind debris to get a better idea of what he was up against. Most of the foes appeared to be heavily armored Cluster Drones, tough, but not impossible. He grinned, watching as a group of three drones started heading in his direction. He launched himself at them, and before any could fire he had torn through the first drone, watching the sparks fly as it's torso slid from the rest of it's body. He turned to the next, stabbing it in the chest, before back kicking the other against a wall, stabbing it in the stomach and watching as it's eyes went dark. He drew his sword from it carefully, turning to find more opponents. Before he could even react something slammed into his chest, hard, forcing him into the air. He landed on is feet, sliding for a few feet before managing to stop. He quickly found his new opponent, and stared at them, confused. A silver robot stood before him, it's narrow, triangular eyes analyzing him. It's mouth was set in a grimace, and it's sharp pigtails twitched with every look. Champ could only think one thing. 'It looks just like...Jenny.' *** Jenny ran up the palace steps, forcing her way through several imperial guards before sliding into the main entrance. She found Vega quickly, and ran to her, desperate for answers. "Vega, what's going on?" She asked.

"Long story short: Smytus is alive, wants to take over Cluster Prime." Vega said, hugging her friend.
"Hey, Jenny! Haven't seen you in awhile! How are things going?" Eric asked, slapping Jenny on her shoulders.
"Misty and Melody beat me up, Mom was captured, and our house was destroyed." Jenny said, furrowing her eyebrows (if she had any, that is).
***
"You're gonna like this Jenny...I'm a mom!" Vega smiled, trying to lighten Jenny's mood.
"Cool! Who's your kids' father?" Jenny said, her spirits lifting a little.
"Him."
Vega pointed at Eric, who just yawned and scratched his left side.
Jenny stifled a laugh, but couldn't hold it in. She burst out laughing, despite the situation she and her friends were in. The teenage robot calmed down and sighed.
"So, how many kids?" Jenny asked.
"Two. Both boys." Eric said, grinning. "They're with Tommy and Kimi."
***
"So, ah, did you bring Timmy and Trixie?" Eric asked.
"Slag! I knew I should had called them first!" Jenny replied. "I did bring some of my new friends, though."
"Where are they?" Vega asked.
"They'll be here soon. They're just a little occupied with kicking Cluster butt!"

A swift kick crumpled the exoskeleton of a nearby Enemy Cluster drone. Jakob didn't want to waste his ammunition just yet.
He already plowed through three streets worth of enemies. Total kill count so far: Fifty-eight. There were definitely more.
Jakob spotted an enemy contact, except this one's energy rifle was already pointed at Jakob.
He didn't move however. The drone just noticed that there was a sword going through its abdomen, and then slicing upwards, like a world-record sawing speed.
"Good to see you on the field." Jakob said to Champ as the ally appeared behind the falling drone.
