-You asked it, moralist?-Kane smirks-You suppose to find out the true meaning of that, "why has the US become so liberal?". People corrupts power, because power will bring many things that no one from below could imagine! In the world of politics, things so called, morals, ethics are only their tongued-words. In the game of power, you must be Machiavelli, or nothing else! And yes, wars, is the fat profits with the weapon industries, and they will exploit it, not even something called morals and ethics!
-Well the time's up! I think I must go on my mission. See ya, bruder!
Then, the transmission terminated.

After the transmission terminated, Plink rolled his eyes. "And that wasn't a question out of ignorance." Plink said. "Moralist. Ha! I'm not just a moralist." Plink moved around and thought with the radar dishon his head making slow circles around. "So...we now have 75% of the case solved." Plink said. "Operation Hornet was made in an effort to do two things. Firstly, it was to murder Koith. They were certain that by murdering him in the firefight, it would look like he was killed in action. But the second reason was just as I had suspected earlier (even though sadly I though Vexus was behind it), someone was trying to take down the Human-Cluster relations. So now that only leaves one loose end...why? What did the Cluster have that the US government decided to break the relations. Unless we want to just assume it was done off a whim. Which is even worse."

(OOC:this skips a lot of the really important dialogue from the last page, of which I could only copy one post before being limited to just the last two posts on the reply page...)
"You are," Gene replied. "But don't worry; the party sucked. Now back off. You too." He said to Marie. "This is between Her Majesty and Mr. President. All right, Your Majesty. Get out here and let's start talking terms."
"Oh, what's there to discuss?" Vexus asked. "This nation has suffered unprecedented devastation. My ground forces have been all but annihilated. I'd say we both got what we wanted."
"That might be enough for you and this dingus here," Gene said, gesturing to the President, "but I think the rest of us would like to make sure it doesn't happen again. A good place to start would be rescinding your declaration of war on this planet, no questions asked."
"You're talking unconditional surrender."
"No, just 'surrendering' the right to blow up their homeworld, which is clearly more trouble than it's worth these days. If some genius decides to invade Cluster territory again, you can still defend yourself, and then you can talk to their U.N. about smacking down the offenders. The nice thing about Earthlings is, they're not gonna pass up an opportunity to fight each other, if you don't give them something else to fight. I mean, it was less than a year ago that they were all united against General Balaam -- and now it's like it never even happened."
Presently, Bullet had been searching his memory banks and finally remembered where he had seen the one man before, it was the man he thought was XJ-9 who met with Koith at Mezmer's the day Bullet met him, Kane. At this same time, Kane slipped out of the ship, saying something about how he was going to expose the true culprit of this mess.
Soon after, Kane reappeared as a transmission to Koith, and revealed more about what's been happening behind closed doors. Then there was some more dialogue that Bullet couldn't recall as he could no longer view the page it was written on.
-"ou asked it, moralist?" Kane smirks. "You suppose to find out the true meaning of that, "why has the US become so liberal?". People corrupts power, because power will bring many things that no one from below could imagine! In the world of politics, things so called, morals, ethics are only their tongued-words. In the game of power, you must be Machiavelli, or nothing else! And yes, wars, is the fat profits with the weapon industries, and they will exploit it, not even something called morals and ethics!"
"Well the time's up! I think I must go on my mission. See ya, bruder!"
Then, the transmission terminated.
Wait, immoral, unethical liberals? Back in Washington, liberals weren't that way. I mean, I guess there's a few bad apples in every bunch, but at least in Washington they're generally the progressive ones. Maybe it's a demographics thing. Either way, what Kane stays still rings true: Power corrupts, absolute power seems kind of neat. Humans will do anything to obtain power, and once they get it, they will do anything to keep it all for themselves. But there are still many questions left here: Obviously someone on the inside is trying to destroy Cluster-Human relations, but why the Cluster? Why not the Zekkians? Why not the Qu'zinlags? Why do it at all?
Plink seemed to have the same questions.
"Well," Bullet began. "Someone has to benefit here. I don't know who or why, but if they're willing to risk the potential destruction of human civilization, it'd better be mondo important."

((Liberal was supposed to refer to progressives or socialists. Sorry.))
"Someone has to benefit here. I don't know who or why, but if they're willing to risk the potential destruction of human civilization, it'd better be mondo important." Bullet said.
Plink continued walking. "Very interesting." He said.

An NCC splinter group? One that we missed? Their goal is the ascension of humanity across the universe, and sabotaging the Cluster by any means necessary would be right up their alley... But they wouldn't ask the Americans to do it- especially Americans that rely on a robot of Nazi origins. The level of incompetence and unprofessionalism displayed on all fronts implies everything except for NCC.
They'd have done it themselves... and dismantle the Cluster in general... and no one would've been able to trace their actions. Even if they did plan to send an incompetent team... why? Surely they would've known about consequences this catastrophic. Their only standing grudge was with Ex-NCC agents and myself, anyway. Why would they care about a non-factor like Koith?
It's a bloomin' miracle that I got the President and the Queen in the same room... and not kill each other...
It's not NCC, that much is certain. Log that, please.
//THOUGHT PROCESS LOGGED.
Though since this isn't NCC, we can relax a little.
//IN HINDSIGHT, WE SHOULD'VE COLLECTED ALL THE RECORDS THE NCC HAD INSTEAD OF DESTROY THEM.
No dice, the NCC had information on everything- everything. That much power would be incredibly dangerous, even in good hands- especially in our hands.
Jakob climbed back into his mech, and he initiated a blink back to his bunker. Now was a time to get a bit of R&R.
By now, the XJ-9 would have the information and tracking logs on Kane. If she were to search for the Cluster-allied Bot, she'd have no problems in capturing the bot and bringing him back to the mothership.

((OOC: Well, if you guys don't mind, I'll make some move. Steel Brothers is over now))
After the long talk under the heavy rain, Vexus and the President finally reached an hard agreement of ending the hostility. The US will have a speech of apology which being broadcasted world-wide and paying a part of war compensation for the Clusters, a deep one to the pockets of every US citizens. In exchange, Vexus will withdraw her forces out of US territory and will participate in the UN court for the war criminals. Under the UN's supervision, US Government must proceed a political reform with an early election, and the heroes of war shall be dedicated.
-It's over!-Koith sighed. His mind finally found a rest in peace. At the time, his comm voiced again. And, it's Kane again:
-I'm so happy when hearing the ceasefire passed! And I'm also happy when got something from mine to help this peace,
-Where are you now?-Koith asked-But I must warn you. You got a hard tail behind!
-No ones catch the shadow, you know it! By the way, I got the one led you and your men into this war. With some juice, he spitted it all, you're just his wallpaper to help him hide from responsibilities as the Nazi origins will attract every eyes of questions and hatred. As you'll be cursed among the people on the Earth, he's still sit tight on his chair, and will be a war hero if this war happened!
-But, I want to know why did you work for Clusters?
-The truth, bruder!-Kane replied-In war, everyone claimed themselves righteous and justice! And the best way to know it, just watching at both sides! They're both called my acts as spies, double-agents! But, for real, I'm the agent of truth, even the most harsh truth, I'm still finding it.
-Nothing is true, Kane!-Blue Metal answered.
-And everything is permitted, bruder!-Kane replied-You must keep those words in mind, as you'll see more like that. Your life, your destiny still long, and I bet you'll meet what I said, in no time.
The transmission terminated. Koith ordered his men:
-Secure the President and get him to the safety!
-Roger,-The strike team replied, then preparing for the escort. But, the Man still has something to say with Koith:
-Commander Blue Metal?
-Yes, sir!-Koith saluted-But gone rogue now,
-Rogue?-President rises his eyebrow-You're not kidding, right?
-No, sir!-The soldier replied-For real, I gone rogue! The Defense declared that.
-Then I will reverse it, as the last actions I can before the new ones become a President! Blue Metal, you and your men dedicated your courage, your loyalty to US, in the darkest days, even facing two fronts at the same time. As the President, I will restore your ranks in the Army, also promote you into Major General! Tremorton will write your sacrifices, the whole US will sing for your feats.
-That's way too much, Mr. President!-Koith shrugged.
-It's what you and your men deserved,-President answered-Challenged everything, you led us to victory, bitter but glorious. May Peace and Liberty be with you, Blue Metal!
Then, he gone, with the cover of the strike team.
((OOC: Before I establish After the Ashes, you guys can make some aftermaths here. Steel Brothers is over, thanks for everything))

Plink listened to the conversation.
"This is again the best evidence that the heart is decietful and desperately wicked." He said...commenting on the recent issues while sitting on a metal canister. "Boy...what a day....I wonder if dad heard of everything and came home early." Plink stood up and flee out of the ship back to the small neighborhood of his house...only to find his house still empty and vacant as before.

(OOC: Just a follow-up to end Bullet's part of the story.)
The war was only just over by the time the halls of the Cluster mothership where the final showdown had taken place filled with a strange sibilance-like noise. It was quiet at first, like a fly was buzzing somewhere in the room, but gradually it crescendoed into the roar of what sounded like a motorbike. Perplexed at why there would be some sort of motorbike would be doing on the ship, Bullet looked out the doors of the bridge into the hall.
Not a second after, a large metal blur burst into the room, screeching to a halt several feet away from Bullet. The vehicle was a retro-looking Vespa scooter painted with the union jack. Unlike most scooters, it was adorned with an excessive amount of headlights and rear-view mirrors, making it look like some sort of alien craft. From one look at this unmistakeable Vespa, Bullet knew the owner. The rider was none other than Viktor.
"No one's gonna be conquering our planet today!" He declared triumphantly, then he noticed the rather peaceful scene around. "Wait, what happened?" He inquired in confusion.
"Happy X-Mas," Bullet replied without a grin. "War is over."
Viktor looked a little shocked and disappointed at not being able to save the day, but still happy it was over nonetheless. "Well, at least all this s**t's over with now. I need a malt."
*****
Early the next morning, Bullet and Viktor sat outside a deserted but intact Mezmer's. They had helped with cleanup all through the night, all the while it continued to rain, and still was. Despite the hard work, neither had much of an appetite after hours of working through heaps of shredded metal and rain mixed with oil and blood.
Bullet hadn't thought much about the day before much since leaving that godforsaken starship, but was now lost in all sorts of processes analyzing what had transpired since Operation Hornet. Although there were many questions and thoughts going through his processor, Bullet didn't want to talk about anything. However, he was curious of how Viktor got to the mothership in the first place.
"How did you get up here with your Vespa, let alone escape my BulletSafe(C) lock? How did you find us?" Bullet asked Viktor.
Viktor's lips curled into the ghost of a smile. "Thank God for the world's tallest parking garage, just drove up and was close enough to make a jump onto the hull." He paused and the little smile disappeared. "As for the other things." He hesitated once more.
"Go on." Bullet enouraged.
Viktor sighed and reluctantly continued: "I guess, in that whole 'end of the civlized world' atmoshere, there was something important I wanted to tell you. I nearly didn't get to because you locked me up, but I guess it's important that I show you the truth now."
Viktor stood up, and began leading a perplexed Bullet away from their table
"I wasn't supposed to do this until a certain thing happened, but things have changed now, and I think you need to remember.
What is Viktor talking about? What do I need to remember? What have I forgotten? What is going on here?
As they walked, Viktor reached into his pocket and held the small disc-drive in his clenched hand.
You're going to hate me for this, Bullet.

//PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSTIC - LOG 067973
//ABNORMAL DISPLAYS OF AGGRESSION- NEVER PRESENT IN ANY MISSION PRIOR TO DISMANTLING OF PRIMARY NCC HEADQUARTERS. HAVE CONSULTED NOTES LEFT BY "KPG". NOTHING WITHIN THOSE NOTES- OR WITHIN OUR OWN DATABANKS- SIMPLY CITE THE INCREASE IN AGGRESSION.
//ONLY PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATION COULD BE FILE CORRUPTION WITHIN THE SYSTEM- WHICH IS UNTRUE. NO CORRUPTION DETECTED IN DATABANKS.
//APOLOGIES, I CANNOT DEDUCE ANYTHING WITHOUT A GREATER EXTENSION OF KNOWLEDGE REGARDING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE- WHICH WE CANNOT DO ON ACCOUNT OF THE FACT THAT KPG IS DEAD.
Jakob sat at the computer in the corner, reading over the messages that displayed in his heads-up display. He had reclaimed his helmet, and his custom self-surgery chair was getting to work at fixing the damage to his exoskeleton. Meanwhile, a replacement scalp was being developed, and his face would be back to normal by the end of the next day.
"Could you play back the logs from the first signs of the aggression?"
//CERTAINLY... BACK ON CLUSTER PRIME, WHEN BLUE METAL UNIT SOMEHOW MANAGED TO ESCAPE A FULLY EQUIPPED BUNKER WITH SUPPOSEDLY NO RESISTANCE FROM CLUSTER PERSONNEL.
"Frustration," Jakob recalled him sitting down on a crate in the hangar.
//SECOND LOGGED ACT OF AGGRESSION: UNNECESSARILY EXPRESSING WILLINGNESS TO KILL BLUE METAL UNIT TO A CIVILIAN-VIGILANTE, DR. GENE WRIGHT.
"Koith was doing nothing to solve the problem," Jakob replied, "For a soldier who's technically older than me, he should have known better. He deserves neither praise, nor respect, for his failures and incompetence as a soldier and a peace-keeper."
//ALSO IDENTIFIED THE OTHER ONE- KANE. RELATED TO KOITH. BACK-TRACED BOTH FROM NCC DATABANKS. FULL PROFILES ARE AVAILABLE.
"I thought we got rid of the NCC databanks," Jakob said.
//... WE DID... STAND BY...
//...
//... ANOMALY: WE SUDDENLY HAVE ALL DATA RELEVANT TO THIS PAST MISSION. LOGGED UNDER "NEW CANADIAN CORPS RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST SERIAL NUMBER DR4-05."
Jakob didn't say anything. He spun around to face the vault where he had stored the body of his creator.
//OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "KPG"...
Jakob stood from his chair and stepped to the vault. Gripping at the locking wheel tightly, he spun it around and around until the door creaked open. He then scanned the vault with his visual sensors.
The coffin was there and still locked up tight... but no biosigns were detected.

The Mezmer, messy and damaged during the war, but still open as a new scene before it could rebuild soon. And well, hard to believe it's became so popular since the people want to live in the true aftermath of this war, blood stains, oil in the same meanings, rubble, et cetera...The rain still heavy, like the Heaven is crying for the dead souls of the brave soldiers and innocent citizens who fallen because of this war. While drinking at the long counter, Kane's talking with some guys. One of them said:
-Hey, do you know about Blue Metal?
-Ja!-Kane smirked, his usual-I know!
-I heard that the President honored him as the hero! Damm lucky Nazi bastard! He's the one who led into this war, and now the Big Guys honored him.
-I'd heard that he'd objected the plan called Operation Hornet, but not fully! Yup, the war has come. His incompetence and weak-willed must be responsible!
-But the thing is, at least he's not giving up the city! I'd never thought what will actually happen when the Clusters completely taken over this place?
-Yeah, but the States raised him only with those...petties! Since he's not deserved that, right Black Boy?
-I want to say,-Kane shook his head with a slight smirk-While you guys were hiding your asses under the tables, he'd risked his life to rout the Clusters off this city. This feat is not "petty" to not be sung as a hero, at least in Tremorton! About his inability,
Emptying the glass of oil, the black soldier continued:
-He's the big kid in the body of an old man! Yup, he'd served himself as a soldier, a peacekeeper. But, his foolishness in politics is one of his deadly flaws! He didn't care about them, so it'd brought him some major consequences.
-So, do you know what's he recently doing?-One man asked-Drinking inside his cantina with his men and some hot babes as the reward?-Then he laughed.
-Nein,-Kane's eyes got something that only him could see-I see he's now just sitting alone inside that place and blaming, lamenting himself!
Well, and the words that black boy said was true. In Junkerton's cantina, Koith sat quietly with his Nighthawk, a small journal under-writing and a glass of condensed diesel with ice and its bottle...

Plink kind of sat inside of Mezmers drinking a roboshake. He was reading up on a few blueprints that he had generated himself in regards to a dimensional travel theory. "I may have it." Plink muttered to himself. ((Aaannnndddd...cue credits ....okay. No...don't))

((Diesel is an addictive hi-powered fuel for Kriegsmaschine series, always used as alcohol. Just like Terrazine being used by Spectres in Starcraft, it enhances the battle performance of the KMs, but also lead them into unstable state due to the fuel conflict. The user might suffering depression, hallucination, possibly leading to commit suicide if overdosing it. Condensed diesel yields double the efficiency, also the side-effects without a proper administration or Mischer - a stabilizing fuel that subdue the baddies.
And yes, Plink! Koith just, want to end his miserable, disgrace life...))
After the war, Marie and her boys attend the reconstruction of Tremorton. The rain still so heavily, since the war broken out, it'd never stopped. In this kind of weather, it's not good for the concrete, so they don't have a choice to rest at Mezmers. Seeing something missing, the girl asked her team:
-Hey, you guys know where's Commander go?
-Yes, maam!-One soldier replied-The last time I saw him is just sitting alone in the cantina. Hell, he doesn't mind turning on the lights!
-I saw him drinking diesel! I don't know how does it taste, but he looks...drunk!
-What!-Marie shocked when hearing this-Oh no, I have to go back! You guys just press on the works after the rain, ok?
-Okie doke, Lily!-Grinder nodded-I don't feel good for Commander, though.
...
Sitting and drinking the diesel, Koith started to hallucinate. He sees fallen comrades, now sitting beside him, drinking and cheering in the loud music of the jukebox. He wants to be with them, but when trying to pat the shoulder, they disappeared, everything totally disappeared...Collapsed in despair, Koith written some words into his journal.
"...My men, my friends, they're not died in battle. I'd killed them, my incompetence killed them! I'd thrown everyone into this worthless war, because of what? Am I suppose to give up the city to protect their lives, also from the innocents who fallen under the mercilessly fire. But, nein! My pride and foolishness led me into this stupid resistance. I triumphed for what? Nothing, nothing..."
((Marie is a top-notch engineer so she'd already known the side-effects of diesel))
