"We think XJ-9 might be aboard this ship," Nora answered, fishing out the tracking system for the XJ-9 parts. "We couldn't get a bead on where her other parts were before, until that bombardment hit this ship."
" A lucky shot must have damaged one of their jamming systems," Jericho said as he moved towards the door that supposedly lead to the rest of XJ-9.
The monolithic gate suddenly exploded in front of him, sending him flying to the back of the room. In the chasm where doors once stood, was a black...creature. One might call it a robot at first glance, but the clearing smoke revealed fleshy, tumorous growths all over its body. It's green visor slimmed to a crack, as if glaring in anger at what lay before it.
"Why must you all be so insistant?!?" It roared, using a surprisingly youthful voice, "All it takes for you to save humanity is to do nothing, to live and let be, and yet you continue to dig humanity's grave!"
The creature rushed to Nora with blinding speed, but found itself held back just before it could reach her. It looked back to see Misty pulling on one of its growths. She swung it around and threw it out of the burrowed hole.
"You guys find Jenny," she ordered, pulling out more explosive throwing stars. "I'll handle this freak."

“Well, humanity’s survival is already guaranteed, so we might as well continue doing something,” Jakob quipped sarcastically as Misty bombarded the entity, “Also, if robots are the key to humanity’s downfall, why do these guys employ robots and mechanized… hybrids…?”
Jakob shook the thoughts out. They were distracting him, and he needed to help secure the XJ-9 unit. He took point into the next room, with both hands switched to the very effective void. The deep indigo… substance… held what appeared to be tiny twinkling stars- though it’s hard to tell what exactly the void beneath the plating really was. To Jakob, it felt like a true extension of his body.

Koith's scanner saw Dr. Wakeman was inside the battleship along with Jakob and few other allies. There was no sign of a battle going on and that was strange. But he must follow to investigate what's just happening.

Suddenly, a black shape landed in front of Koith, followed by some exploding shuriken. They exploded, Misty landing a safe distance away.
"The heck does it take to six this guy?" She bit her lip in frustration as she pulled out more explosive throwing weapons, "And why can't I read your mind for your weakness!?"
"You'll know my weakness when I'm dead." The enemy answered, walking past the cloud of debris and completely unscratched by Misty's attacks.

“Funny that one who’s so hell-bent on humanity’s survival isn’t even a human,” Jakob quipped to the others as he moved down the corridors with everyone. He only had his front vision to rely on, so he had everyone keep a hand on everyone’s shoulder, ready to squeeze slightly to silently indicate if something’s wrong. He kept his eyes open and his scattergun out and loaded. Though the shots weren’t enough to pierce the armour of the previous bots, Jakob’s scattergun did deliver on force and overwhelming strikes. It would serve as a good enough distraction or stun in order to allow the non-combatants to maneuver to safety and combatants to maneuver to a better fighting position.

"Huh, show off." Koith sighed, he then approached swiftly behind that hostile and gave it an EMP grenade sticked on its back. It exploded while Koith was at the safe distance. Time for using more serious firepower, he took out his assault rifle, using the electronic magnetic armor piercing (EMAP) magazines to gun down that thing for good. It'd bought for that mysterious ninja girl a while for her to fight or flight either.

They were soon met with a door at the end of the corridor, met with a steel door. Before they could even get close, it opened before them and out walked a familiar blue robot.
It was XJ-9.
"What are you doing, XJ-9?! Why haven't you come home?" The shaken Nora Wakeman called, "Have you been reprogrammed!?"
"I'm fine, mother," Jenny opened up a panel on her forehead, "Run a diagnostic, I'm sure I'm fine."
Against her better judgement, Nora plugged in a device to Jenny and ran the diagnostic.
"Nothing's wrong, you're as good as I built you..." She said, Jenny pulling the plug and closed the panel.
"Then will you listen to what I have to say?" She pulled the plug and closed the panel.
"Now isn't exactly the best time, XJ-9," Nora elaborated, pulling Jenny towards the escape vehicle. "We're in the middle of an enemy battleship that just assaulted Tremorton!"
"But they let me go because I could figure out a peaceful solution," Jenny said, activating pneumatic jacks in her legs to halt the retreat.
"Ohh, alright," Nora conceded, "What will a peaceful negotiation take?"
"Mom...I need you and all the other scientists to stop working on robotics," Jenny beckoned, holding her mother by the shoulders. "It's the only way."
"But why on Earth would we do that?" Nora said with wide-eyed surprise, "Robots like you are holding the world together, and we'd lose so much in terms of medicine and industry as well."
"It's the only way, Mom," Jenny begged, "Soon, robots will replace all of humanity, I watched it happen! Hearts replaced with hydraulic pumps, blood replaced with oil, it happens so slowly, that humanity as we know it is extinct before you can say 'bye-bye, Jupiter!' We have to stop it, mom!"
"XJ-9, calm down!" Nora ordered, Jenny letting go of her shoulders. "The steady extinction of humanity does seem like cause for concern, but I don't think we're getting the whole picture here."
"Besides, didn't Jake just say that humanity's survival was assured?" Jericho said, pointing to who effectively became his and Nora's escort.
---
Koith's EMP grenade didn't do a thing, but his armor-piercing rounds seemed more effective, penetrating through the front of the enemy's torso and exiting out the back. The strange specimen clutched his chest, oddly making no efforts to stop its entrails from spilling out.

"Now's that more like it." Koith smirked, then he dashed towards the hostile. Swiftly put his left hand with a grenade deep inside the wound, he later pulled out with wires and some pieces of its guts before using his booster to hop away.
"Ruhe in frieden!"
The grenade exploded, deep inside that hostile robot which its armor didn't protect it anymore. Its fuel, guts, and lots of pieces of scraps flying all over the place. But there were more of this kind over Tremorton and they need to be put down ASAP. Turning to Misty, Koith said.
"I think it's time you're better using something that can tear their armors down or maybe I can lend you some bits to drill them."
Then as the introduction, he fired more EMAP rounds towards the designated target, piercing it just as its dead counterpart.

“… Yes, humanity’s survival has been assured since the Crack In Space event two days ago,” Jakob confirmed Jericho’s query, “But he said he wouldn’t abuse his new power unless a very specific circumstance is met- namely assured destruction of the human race. The MO of these guys is to wipe out robots… Technically an indirect threat, since machines make up the bulk of humanity’s infrastructure and military… Either that, or he’s confident we can deal with this threat.”
“I can deal with a threat I understand,” he continued, “The problem is… I don’t understand their MO, specifically. I mean… all robots? Including the automated machines in factories? Humans are so reliant on machines that removing them would cause human civilization to crumble, and that’s not even considering future invaders…”

"Destruction...perhaps that's why 'he,' whoever 'he' is, hasn't interfered," Jericho proposed, "What XJ-9 described sounds like evolution to me, a natural progression, not destruction. That still doesn't explain why machines and robots are these guys' target, though..."
"Well, this is their plan B," Jenny elaborated, "Their original plan was to make machines look like they normally broke down, to convince humanity that robotics were unreliable."
"The black fog!" Jericho exclaimed, earning a nod from Jenny before she continued.
"But now that they've been found out, they plan to go into an all-out war," Jenny continued, "And Mom, you, and all of the robotics experts are on their hit list."
"Wait, you said you saw all of this happen yourself?" Nora said, "Are they using some sort of time travel technology?" Jenny shook her head.
"They hop to different dimensions, because each one is supposed to have a different outcome," Jenny elaborated further, "They keep going to the base universe that all others branch from, and that used to be ours."
"I'm guessing the second attack was when we split," Jericho assumed.

The robots were kept retreating back to the ship and also Koith's scanner shown that Jenn was inside. Making the way in with his assault rifle ready, he appeared onto the scene where XJ-9 was standing.
"Good to see you're back, Jenn!" though a bit surprised with Jenny's status but Koith greeted "And did I missing something about those damn aliens?"

"I would like to see this 'hit list', personally," Jakob commented, "But it doesn't matter. What matters is that removing robotics entirely cripples human civilization, leaving it vulnerable to invaders- the very reason we developed military robots in the first place. This 'Plan B'- their Plan A- they're both out of the question. We cannot let this happen."
He rose his scattergun up to Jenny. "There is really one question that needs to be answered: Are you with us or against us?"

Drawl was plucking at a mouth harp as he glanced around the void beyond the edge of his old universe. "At last, I am an author... and I can finally take up every instrument that ever was... Jeez, I never got a day off for the longest time..."

"So we have to make a choice, eh?" Koith smirked as he cautiously watching Jakob threating Jenny "Have to but robots like us were undeniably the part of the human evolution to lend our hands helping them building the world they wished to be. We might have flaws, we might have shortcomings due to our specific designs but we did our part well throughout many decades and we could now have a life on our own. We cannot tolerate anyone who's threatening our rights to live, and I'm gonna stand with the ones who shall defend our rights to be a part of the human civilization. But first, we shouldn't point the guns to each other in this time needing us unite in one cause."
His finger was waiting near the trigger of his assault rifle, if Jakob go for a shot then Koith will have to make a hard decision with him.

"I'm with Jakob," Jericho agreed, "While metahumans are powerful, we can't create them at will like robots, you can't find or manufacture spare parts for them. Well, bio-engineering might have gotten a stronger leap forward if their plan A worked, but it didn't. So, XJ-9, who's side are you on?"
Jenny looked fearfully at Jakob and Jericho, then to her mother. Nora put her hands on her daughter's shoulders and smiled.
"XJ-9, We need you," She began, "I have no doubts in my mind that you will pick the right side." Jenny looked at all the present party, and nodded to Nora.
"I'm with you guys," She said, fear vanishing, "I always have been and I always will be. Cluster Prime, the Teen Team, I've always chosen you guys. Now's no different."
XJ-9 was suddenly impaled by a sleek, shining hand. In its clutches was her main battery, still connected to Jenny by a few cables. A quick tug, and the battery was pulled free from XJ-9's torso. XJ-9 fell to her knees, clutching the hole in her torso as her eyes slightly dimmed, indicating she was now on auxiliary power.
Behind her was a robot that, while resembling her to a point, was also much sleeker and appeared far more advanced. It clenched the hand holding XJ-9's main battery, destroying it in an explosion of sparks.
"No, it can't be..." Nora gasped, pulling out a photon gun and shakily aiming it at the new enemy.

Having seen that, Koith aimed his rifle towards that hand steadily while he moving forward to give Nora some cover to get Jenny back to safety.
"Just another metallic toy to prove that we're all incompetent." he smirked.
