((Here ya go, Koith. www.tohokingdom.com/aliens_sdf/rumbling.htm In addition to that, this version can carry and launch Lone Star mechs.)) "Because I think I have an alternative that you might like," Jericho said, "Meet me in the G-Force hangar, we will discuss the details there."

"Alright," Blair said, frowning as she ended the call.
She was curious as to what else Jericho could have in mind for her when it came to space flight. Given that she wasn't exactly an ace pilot to begin with she had to wonder if this was a good idea. *** It didn't take Blair long to reach the hangar, and as she did she began to look around, trying to find some clue as to what Jericho was up to.
"Alright, Jericho, I'm here," She called out, "What did you want to show me?" *** Back at Skyway HQ the mood was grim, and seeing Hector's face Amedes got the impression that things were only going to get worse.
"Alright, gentlemen," Hector said, "Since I'm fairly sure we all know what our decision is, regardless of how unwilling we all are to turn the trigger, I want to turn your attention to another order of business. I've just received this message..."
A hologram of Koith's letter appeared in front of the delegation.
"And I want you all to tell me what you make of it," He said.
For a moment there was silence as the delegates read, though eventually Amedes broke the silence.
"While I can't say I'm familiar with them," He said, "I have to ask whether we can really trust any group that either doesn't recognize or care about the political implications of putting 'reich' in their name."
"The name is likely not meant to invoke the reich," The German delegate pointed out, "The word 'reichmacht' means 'Imperial Power'."
"Because that's more positive," Hector said, "We all know how much we like empires in this day and age."
"Says the American," Prodded the French representative, but Hector turned on him immediately.
"Look," He said, "I'm not letting us off the hook either, or did you miss the fact that Operation Hornet was basically an attempt by America to return to imperialism that was violently rejected by the international community. My point, and the point of Amedes, is that even the name of these people make them seem untrustworthy, so can anyone tell me anything we actually KNOW about them."
"More than I'm sure they realize," The delegate from the UK said, "Our boys tangled with them during the Atlantis affair, and while there were no casualties, it was obvious they didn't care about risking an international incident by attacking our men."
"Oh, well that just sounds delightful," Hector said.
"There's more," Said one of the intelligence advisers, "US intelligence says that they are either led by, or at least work with, Koith KM-08."
Hector gave out a long sigh.
"Great," He said, "So we're getting offered help in this war by a guy who did nothing but make the last one worse. Can someone give me one good reason why we should accept this offer?"
"Necessity," Amedes said bluntly, "Corporal Mars already said it, we don't have the manpower or morale for this fight, so we need all the help we can get."
Hector sighed again.
"I was afraid you were going to say that," He said.
"I know," Amedes said, "Trust me, I don't feel comfortable with this alliance either, but if the allies could justify teaming with the Russians in World War II we can justify teaming with Koith now."
"Fair enough," Hector said, "But I hope you remember what happened to the allies and the Russians at the end of that fight."
Amedes nodded grimly.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

"Corporal Mars," Jericho started, "What if I told you I could make you an ace pilot before the next mission? You'll be able to easily out-perform any pilot in Skyway without even breaking a sweat."

"I would ask how," Blair said, raising an eyebrow.
She allowed a hint of a smile to grace her face. She had to admit, she was starting to like the sound of this idea, whatever it was.

Mezmers,
Koith had returned to the place where Marie was got a friend for chit-chat. Seeing her boy is back, the girl said:
-Hey, darling! You're back! How's the thing?
-Terrible!-Koith shrugged-The US declared to be neutral, their usual way. We will go into this war with the tattered allies: Cluster remains, Skyway Patrol and the G-Force!
Seems worried, the girl asks:
-So how about Kane? Maybe his soldiers will...
But Koith intercepted:
-Kane said the Reichmacht only has a few Vertigo class space cruisers, since his engineers are lacking in materials and techs required for bigger battleships! So, he couldn't send many soldiers and fighters out to space!
-So, how much he could send into this battle?-Marie rises her eyebrows.
-Ten thousands!-Koith sighed.
-I'm now seeing why you're being so worried, dear!-The girl nodded-But don't worry! Maybe we will find a way.
-Yeah,-Koith agreed-Maybe.

Jericho smiled.
"Follow me," He lead her to the bay where the Lone Star mechs were kept. "Pick your favorite."

Blair stared at the rows of mechs, completely floored at the idea that she was actually going to end up piloting one of them. Eventually she stopped next to one and leaned against it, turning to Jericho.
"Alright," She said, "What now?"

"Now? We start your training."
As Jericho said that, the chest of the Lone Star Blair leaned on opened up, almost beckoning her to get inside.

Blair jumped back at the sound of the mech opening, hesitating a moment before climbing inside of it, placing her hands at what she assumed were the controls.
"You really think I can do this?" She asked, trying to hide her nervousness.

"It's much easier than you think, Corporal."

Blair shrugged, frowning slightly as she did. She wasn't entirely sure Jericho realized how foreign the concept of piloting a mech was to her, after all, he'd been piloting and designing them his whole life as far as she was aware. Still, he trusted her, and that had to count for something.
"Alright," She said, "Let's get started."

"Have you ever seen Pacific Rim, Corporal?"

Back to Junkerton,
Koith is now preparing the things needed for the war, as he imagined: deadly and desperate. At the same time, Kane's transmission online:
-I'd got a transmission from the US Defense, bruder!
-They want to knock-knock us?-Koith smirked.
-Nein!-Kane shook-They want to say something to you!
-Commander Blue Metal?-The other line intercepted.
-Reporting!-Seeing his old man, Koith saluted.
-Since the President couldn't risk anymore brave men without angering the Capitol, we're giving this mission to you! Command Reichmacht to victory! The Earth needs your help.
-I didn't even know about Kane making you in the contact list, old man!-Koith sighed.
-We and the Reichmacht used to share the world's conflicts for six decades! Since we're keeping you guys off the lights, Black Phantom and his men are doing dirty jobs in exchange! That's the deal!
-So I'd just got more questions for Kane, now!-Koith shrugged.
-Just leaving them for later! Anyway, here's the deal! You defend the Earth, and we'll stabilize the international matters! Don't worry, since all your intels will be buried deep to the mantle, you guys won't face any troubles!
-I'm just worrying about some whistle-blowers might compromise us!-Koith feels somewhat worried.
-This's the most generous offer we'd ever dealt with the Communists like you! We don't mention the Russians, since your ideals are totally different! But, beware. Our cores of the Global Strategy never change!
-Right!-Koith smirked-We fight the aliens, and you guys cover our asses! Deal?
-Isn't that I'm asking you?
-Deal!-KM-08 nodded-But keep up your promise with both Skyway and G-Force!
-Don't worry!-The Defense replied-We'd got our hands inside them! They will make the intels against you and your Reichmacht disappear!
Then, the comm terminated. It'd been encrypted, advanced codes could prevent the curious ears. Only Koith inside the command quarter, he smirked, said to himself:
-Oh, Uncle Sam! You naughty, naughty old man! Throwing us into this battle to clear out your potential threat, eh?
