"I'll do that." I say as I stride towards the building. I jump up into what's left of the second floor and disappear from view.

Skyler sighed, annoyed at this mysterious woman taking the lead. It wasn't like she was going to know what she was looking for anyway, of all of the people here she was the one that knew the least about her Dad. But whatever, I guess there was no point in arguing, she just had to hope that they didn't get in her way.
The interior of the second floor was a complete wreck, and honestly it was hard to believe that there had ever been anything resembling a complete room here at all. The floor had collapsed about halfway into the first room, and the walls, Skyler noticed with increasing alarm, didn't actually look all that sturdy now that she was inside. Most signs of life, too, had been completely wiped away, washed out to sea or simply eroded by the passage of time. Still, there might be something.
No sooner had the though crossed her mind than she heard something fall. At first she leapt back, afraid that the structure might be collapsing, but instead she heard simply the small sound of glass breaking. She turned to the source, and was surprised to find a broken picture frame that had fallen from the wall on the other side of the room. She went to it quickly, picking it up and examining it carefully. It was intensely faded, and warped in places, but she could still make out the faces of three people, one a woman with a stern expression, another a young woman with shoulder length black hair, and, finally, a face that, though younger than she had ever seen it, she would know anywhere.
"Well I'll be damned," She said to herself.

"What'd you find?" I ask from across the space, examining a pile of concrete rubble encrusted in the remains of coral.

For a moment Skyler hesitated, but as she thought about it, she realized there was no reason to. It's not like the photo would mean anything to this woman anyway.
"It's a picture of my dad," she said, holding the picture out for the stranger to examine, "And my aunts, I guess."
She shrugged, but had to admit this was a major surprise, she hadn't expected this detour to lead to anything, but Jakob had gotten them right where they needed to be. Who knew, maybe there was actually something more recent to be found here, something that would help her and her sister find some evidence of her father's recent activity. Not bad given that they'd started the day simply looking for anything remotely edible or usable for the settlement.

Jakob sifted through the rubble with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine. He detected several items that had been completely covered in packed-down rubble and thus were not as terribly damaged as they could have been. A faded photo, several trinkets, and a flash drive. Jakob wasn't certain if the flash drive could be saved, but it wouldn't hurt to try anyway.
Jakob paused his search and called for everyone. "Found a few things," One void appendage vanished under a re-emerging hand, which now held the trinkets and photos. With his other hand, he produced the flash drive from the void and plugged it in to extract the contents.

Most of the files on the drive were unimportant, drafts of stories for the Tremorton Times written by one Azure Skye, more family photos, almost nothing of interest. However, there was one encrypted folder that might be of use.
"So, Skyler, anything?" Ayame called up to her sister.
Skyler shook her head as she worked her way down the building.
"Nothing I could find," she said, "A nice picture of Dad and Aunts Blair and Rain but nothing suggesting where he could be, looks like a dead end."

Soon enough, Jakob ceased the process. "It's a shame," he stated as his armoured hands returned from the void. "I would've liked to see a familiar face after such a long sleep."
The android adjusted the hat he wore on top of his helmet. The whole attire was worn, dusty, shredded in places, but still functioned to expectations.
//SCAN COMPLETE - THREE POWER SOURCE SIGNATURES DETECTED.
The words danced across his heads-up display, along with waypoint markers set to each of the three sources. Jakob was disappointed to find that the three sources were, in fact, the three individuals he was with.
"Alright guess I'll need to jump-start it myself," he shrugged. It was a risky maneuver, to use his own core to power the Mech. It would take some time anyway. He did not trust this guardian character, but a friend of Champ's is good in his books. He can trust them if no one else. "In that case, I'll head back home."
The android stepped away from the apartment, and headed back down the water-logged streets. Regardless of if the others followed, Jakob arrived at the long-wrecked bunker and moved back downstairs, to the initial room that was empty, save for the cave-in, the stasis tube, and the vault door.
